  1. I have a GeForce 760/2g vram. It runs a high frame rate without V sync in place. With V sync it is usually at 61 /63 fps even though set to 60. I put a frame rate limiter on it and lowered it to 40 FPS and the stutter from world zones that sap FPS is lessened and I cant see any visual difference between 60 and 40. So my question is...do I gain any benefit operationwise in other sectors by relieving the card of 1/3rd of its rendering task?
  2. "I do." I suppose it would be good to get the fps equivalent to what the optic nerve operates at. Maybe Apollo can look into that. :)
  3. Many followers Zips share the same file structure, could all their esp.s be fused or does each modder use different internal structures to their esp.s?
  4. Thanks for the explanation. My only chance to be a sheson....foiled. :)
  5. 24 FPS has been the benchmark for watching movies for a very long time and no one complains of visual weakness. Your card will punch a lot more FPS without Vsync but the game engine will start puking up peculiarities and that is why V sync is there to tame your beast card to a manageable level. But Skyrim has many areas that kick the sh1t out of FPS no matter what rig you have so you can drop from 60 to 20 easily. That hard drop is crappy but you can mitigate it by forcing FPS with a framerate limiter as found in ENBoost. I have a GEforce 760 with Vsync on and limit the frame rate to 40 fps and when I encounter a drop zone the hiccup is much less noticeable. Having a high frame rate is not a sign of health and prowess in this game. Stability is what you want.
  6. If you were to load your game with 250 mods and it was a stable universe, could you then................................................... make a hard copy of your Skyrim folder, delete all your mods from mod manager, then substitute your newly made copy of the Skyrim directory with your first 250 baked in, and then open up NMM and add 250 more? Rinse and repeat the directory copy and add another 250? 750 mods total and no reason to stop? Only the last 250 added showing in NMM?
  7. Jorvaskrr can cause a sudden jump in memory use on entering causing ctd if you have topped 3.1g in usage. It can be cured with shesons patch and ENBoost. Your complaint is vague. If you have the things I mentioned , it shouldn't happen. Post your load order.
  8. You have joined the millions who have babbled like wise. Better luck next time. Read everything.
  9. There are categories to consider. Utilities like NMM,BOSS,TESVedit etc to handle your mods, then the bug fixes like all the unofficial patches etc, then memory aids like ENBoost, some form of Shesons patch, stable u grids to load. Then when your system is solid, start thinking about how you want your world to look with the textures available, disable the official high res packs as they are flaky and poorly made in some aspects, there are much better ones on Nexus. Then what style of game, survivalist or summer tourist. Then weapon and armor eye candy, and more aspects that you haven't thought of yet. Look up Gophers series on beginning modding on Utube. There is a lot to do if you want to get it right. If you are really raw to modding it can be a dark forest so prepare for a lot of new and interesting, delightful and frustrating moments. But you have arrived at a good time in Skyrim modding. A crucial memory roadblock has been overcome which was responsible for the majority of game crashes. Now it is mainly down to corrupt saves and mod conflicts. I started using mods without a clue and it took at least a year before I had a firm grip on everything that was going on. Be patient, inquisitive and have fun.
  10. This is one,,,,,,http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24065/?
  11. Civil War Overhaul must be in the initial start of a new game. Scripts are re written while your butt is in the wagon. Problems if you don't.
  12. If you have Shesons patch you should no longer need Hi Algo. Replace it with ENBoost and live the dream.
  13. Not sure if I understand your question. Do you want to change the vanilla default idle or are you talking about the fnis idle spells?
  14. The last game I started up with 150 known and trusted mods. No problem at all. That's the trick, know the mods. Know what needs to be off too, like Helgen Reborn. Then there is Civil War Overhaul that must be active during unbound. Know your mods various needs.
  15. As far as I can tell the "t" stands for tender. A less exaggerated bounce, top and bottom. And no, it will not make anything look strange.
  16. You are not using BOSS or any of the unofficial patches. Your load order is all over the place. You should address this first, see what happens.
  17. Good for you in resolving the issue. Skyrim can have some obscure problems that are hard to diagnose.
  18. Thanks. Remaking the archive initially is the permanent way then.
  19. If I modify a follower mod (change the body meshes and textures in the skyrim data files) then later deactivate the mod and then reactivate it, will my modded files return as well or does NMM keep the original mod intact and will return the original files? In other words, is it preferable to change the files in the 7zip rar and rearchive it then install it or will the data files method withstand a deactivization/reactivization intact?
  20. Sounds like the old ones are toast. Turn off auto save, quick save etc. Only make hard saves in the menu in new slots.
  21. Look at this, it might be there....http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50692/?
  22. How about a statue to Sheson, the guy who fixed Skyrim? Either make it to replace Talos statues or hand place it in every city and town. His "Holy Cow" mounted on a block twice as high as a second block attached to it would symbolize his achievement for making Skyrim a stabler place. If you are unaware of Shesons triumph, you soon will be.
  23. I'm looking for suggestions for player homes that are bright enough inside that you don't need a torch to see who is sitting in the corner of your kitchen at lunch time. Thanks.
