  1. What controller do you use? It should be X. I have a XBOX 360 wired controller that I hate using for Skyrim, but I pluged it in long enough to find out that for me at least it is X.
  2. I think it has to do with UAC (User Account Control), and the install location of the game. Some people turn UAC completely off, and some don't install games to "C:\Program Files". ("C:\Program Files (x86)" for 64 bit windows)
  3. Do you have any werewolf realeated mods? If yes start looking at those to see if they cause the problem.
  4. The most recent version of Presision X has a lot of bugs, and supposedly was rebuilt from the ground up. I would use Afterbuner until EVGA fixes the problems this new program has. If you want to read why this was done google "RiviaTuner and Presision X"
  5. Another idea is to remap the action from (default toggle run) caps lock to something else, and see if the problem is or is not still there.
  6. They are windows features for ease of use. You need to turn them off in the Windows Control Panel. Beyond that read http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1592053-how-to-ask-for-help/
  7. You can try turning off sticky keys, and toggle keys.
  8. I never said you were wrong, and again I asked the 1st question because I wanted to know what you meant. Why should I try and prove you incorrect when I have never said you are? Now I am saying your are wrong, because "thread crapping" takes two. Both of us are not adding useful information at this point. This also means you are "thread crapping." Note I am not saying I am not.
  9. I don't expect an answer if you meant what you wrote. While the thread here only mentions Skyrim it is extremely likely that the PC will be used for far more then just Skyrim. You mentioned that all cpus have a platform level of performance. This includes mobile. Then why did you start insulting when asked to clearify? Was ignoring it because you clearly had an axe to grind: Your Signature "I will not tolerate harassment from users that refuse to believe the kind of performance I get with Skyrim. I am willing to back up my claims, but an agreed upon method would be required." When you have a fixation on "Enthusiast CPU's" and the realty is disconnected from the pragmatic truth. If you are insulted by the facts, it is what is relevant. Do you have anything empirical that supports your anecdotal opinion ? The above chart was as clear as it gets.... 117 FPS is 117 FPS This shows you are the one with the axe to grind. I asked because I wanted to know. I said that I normally look at those CPUs to show that I don' know much about other ones. As for my signature I do get a lot of harassment, because people unwilling to believe it for various reasons. I added it to show that I will not tolerate it like I used to. By replying you have also shown that you do care, and that people can not believe what you write.
  10. Mod Organizer should allow the "Download with NMM" button to work, but it does not seem to be working for you. I am not sure what else to tell you. PS I think you need to use the installer version for that to work.
  11. OP sorry for the mess. I was hoping my friend would have answered what motherboard he upgraded to a FX-8350 on that has given him nothing but problems. I have not gotten a reply. I don't expect an answer if you meant what you wrote. While the thread here only mentions Skyrim it is extremely likely that the PC will be used for far more then just Skyrim. 12. I know you're stating facts, but passing off how processors handle Skyrim as how they will handle everything is inaccurate. I also never said you were wrong when I asked you for clarification you assumed that, and started in insulting me. Not everyone thinks the same way, and I can promise that if I was unsure what you meant more would have been also. The point I was trying to make with my last post is that the i7-640M and the i7-970 are the same generation IIRC. There are both i7s, but one is a dual core and one is a hex core. One is a mobile CPU and one is a desktop CPU. The mobile i7 will not hold a candle to most of the i5s and is probably closer to low end i3 performance, but it is still an i7.
  13. Can you explain this, and how you determine what the platform levels are? I don't see this with CPUs, but I normally use enthusiast grade processors. (2011 for example) Regardless the method of measurement/benchmark you get a level of performance that is consistent with the manufacturer and CPU generation that is very close SKU to SKU. You can scale the CPU and it remains consistent with others of similar lineage. That did not answer the question. Unless you are trying to tell me that because both the i7-640M and i7-970 are both Intel, i7 etc etc they they will have the same level of performance? I can promise they will have no where near the same level of performance, and it goes far beyond one is a mobile CPU and one is not. I know that most of the 4xxx I7s will not come close to the performance my i7 has.
  14. If you are using skeleton mod you should keep the files from that mod, and don't let other mods overwrite them.

  16. I saw this in here somewhere someone said that windows does not use a lot of RAM at idle. It can and on some computers it does. I think for Windows 7 at least the amount of RAM used by windows at idle will depend on what Windows version you have, number of monitors, and if you have antivirus (and similar) running or not. For me Windows 7 x64 Ultimate uses 5-6GB at idle. Stability isn't affected, performance is only significantly affected if your commit charge exceeds approx. 9GB. Otherwise spare RAM is used for HDD cache and that's it. It's extremely rare circumstances where RAM affects fps. Do you have a link to any test showing an increase of 10% from 8 to 16GB of RAM? HDD is not cached to RAM. The pagefile is a file on the HDD used to store idle programs from RAM when windows needs more memory. No adding more RAM will not add FPS, but only because it is the GPU, and in some cases the CPU that holds the FPS back.
  17. The only thing I can think of for the first game is Lemmings. Here is a video of gameplay (random from google)
  18. AS far as I know it does not work with 2014 yet, and only 2010 is really supported.
  19. For those reading this the game is no longer free.
  20. It would be wise to add a disclamer for Fable 3 that no new keys are being created, and unless you have a copy or can find an unactivated key you can no longer get Fable 3 for PC.
  21. I don't see the need to include the LOOT folder unless you are editing the metadata and doing a poor job. By poor job I mean if you edit for one mod list and those edits can not work with a second mod list. A good edit would allow for any mod list.
  22. I'll do what I can, but I'm not active on the nexus anymore. From my experiance the update dection with NMM is not very usefull. For many mods the version that works with your mod list is a different version, but NMM tell you there is an update when there really is not one.
  23. A few things to add here. The following assumes you have the default NMM folder structure of Skyrim\Mods for mods and Skyrim\Install Info. If you use NMM it has a folder where it store all the mods it can to use. For me this is C:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\Skyrim If I change this folder all the mods NMM sees and "knows" are installed to a new folder for a second install NMM would also keep track of the keep the mods for each install correct and you could also use NMM to install and remove mods from all installs.
  24. The reason I used the folder structure I did is because it makes it easy to add far more intalls then two, and you get a easy to use batch file that can be ran from your desktop (if you chose) to change installs. One of the problems you will run into if you copy and rename folders is that it will be very easy for most to mix up installs. Another reason using a junction is easier is that if you have 3+ installs it does not matter what one was previously in use, you just run the batch to play your chosen install. As an example of how this would make it easy to have 100 installs (if you wanted that many, and had the HDD space for it) you could have a folder named C:\Skyrim\Vanilla and simply copy that folder to new folders and add a new batch to change between installs. Also there are many poeple who dislike ModOrginizer to varing degrees and for various reasons. One of the reasons I will not use it is that if I want to play Skyrim I don't want to run a program before I run Skyrim I want to simply start Skyrim. If you are in the Windows Command Prompt and are creating a link like this mklink.exe /D folder2 folder1 mklink.exe /D folder2 ..\folder1 mklink.exe /D folder2 folder1\folder2 These are relative paths as you need to have the command prompt in a specific directory for the commands to work. A link like mklink.exe /J "%userprofile%\\Documents\My Games\Skyrim" "C:\Skyrim\Install2\Saves" This is an absolute path and the command can be ran from any directory on the computer. when using mklink.exe /D is a directory link, and /J is a junction. I may be wrong here, but it is my understanding that a junction is invisible to all program unless they specifily look for one. Here is another exmaple of a batch file that would allow simple edits to use what ever paths you want. This is again untested.
