  1. sometimes the divines smile upon you friend, just avoid the arrow to the knee and the big **** off dragons and you'll be fine :P
  2. if you need a VA, i'd like to help out, i am currently making a custom voiced follower, here is a line of dialogue: https://soundcloud.com/dhegonus-blue/kalatar-idle-chatter-draugr i can do nord, the old school dunmer (not the wet sounding ones you get in skyrim, but the harsh unforgiving voice types from morrowind) and regular soft elven.
  3. have you done any virus scans for malware etc? use malware bytes and spybot search and destroy. Have you also installed any new peices of software recently? it might be hogging some system resources if the process isn't cancelled using the task manager etc.
  4. in the towers, did you add a stair case or anything like a staircase to get up to the tower? and did you create a nav mesh that connects to the nav mesh of the ground that goes up the stair case and then surrounds the floor of the tower?
  5. it's just one of those generic warnings, make a back up of the ini file and if anything does occur, just swap back to the original, i always use it and never had a single issue. SKSE 1.7 is great, it has the ssme patcher thing it, well worth it, it'll override the older versions, probably a good idea to get the ugridstoload patch as well, it won't solve your issue, but make the game just that little more stable. i'm not sure in the ENB menu (i have a laptop that isn't quite powerful enough to run ens) but you need to turn vsync off/on from outside of the game as far as i remember, some people play with t off, some people play with it on, it depends on if your computer plays ball.. skyrim is known to throw fits when vsync is deactivated and you get a constant fps over 60. Yeah, probably your filters, it a 12 odd page guide with a rop down box to select the category you wish to read, well worth a read when you get home.
  6. 400 mods? guess you have combined a lot of them as the max is 255.. probably the game throwing mini tantrums now and again. run through this fab tweak guide, see if you can add anything from it that isn't currently in your game or ini settings etc: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweak-guide#10 also, grab the skyrim configurator from the nexus downloads, fire it up and tick every box you find that says "threaded". might also be good to add the following lines to the skyrimprefs.ini: [Papyrus] fUpdateBudgetMS=800 fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800 fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000 iMinMemoryPageSize=256 iMaxMemoryPageSize=512 iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=2457600
  7. That's the risk all the modellers here run.. and even if some one did try and sell it, the people investigate the scenario would have sophisticated enough technology to figure out it wasn't you selling anything.. you really don't have to worry about that, especially here, because selling mods etc is against the websites rules.. so, for example.. if you made it a nexus exclusive.. we all would know if some one was pirating your work if they turned up on other sites with out crediting you, the owner. The fact of the matter is, people do use 3ds student and edition and sell the work they make from it, i've seen people do it at university and nothing happened to them, plus as i said before, if some one had stolen your work and went on to sell and if it did get investigated, they would know it wasn't you, it's not difficult to figure out if you have the right bit of kit at your disposal. I work in Forensics and i get to help out the forensic computing guys frm time to time and they showed me how incredibly easy it is to find out things about people. TL;DR? You'll be fine and have zero reason to worry.
  8. love the scorpion armour, mortal kombat reference ftw.
  9. added an audio file to the OP of one of the lines said in idle chatter when in a Draugr dungeon. Made me chuckle.
  10. the amd sempron is just a little slower than an i3, probably explains some lag. There are a few things you can do to free up some power, you cn "unpark" your cpu's, this is only beneficial for weaker systems, but it let's your computer actually use all the processing power as the cpu's tend to leave some power aside for certain processes that aren't actually that important. you can disable all the non essential windows visuals etc by going to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System then click on advanced system settings, then the advanced tab and then click on the performance settings button, then you will have a choice, three boxes "best settings for quality/best settings for performance/custom" tick the best settings for performance box. Now your computer will have some extra power behind it because it won't have to process the back desktop and keep using memory for visuals extra, every little helps, as they say. For ini tweaks that will generally help with performance, check this article out: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/articles/1153/? the tweaaks for the papyrus scripting is actually really helpful.
  11. in the pst amd cards and processors were touch and go, it really depends what game you play, but syrim prefers intel and nvidia.. still.. with quite a few huge games utilizing "mantle" from amd soon, it will mean that amd will once again actually be hugely stiff competition once again.
  12. for their look, open the showracemenu via console, it will come u will the character creation tool from the start of the game, then create how you wish the follower to look, then finalize it all and open the console again type SPF (the what ever you wish to name the file with out the brackets) it will save a file in the skyrim main directory called what-ever-you-named-it.npc . Then fire up the creation it, make sure the follower mod you wish to alter is ticked (if it is custom follower, that is) then once that has all loaded, navigate your way to the character in the "Actor" section of the window pane on the left and double click on them. Then on the tabs at the top of the new window, navigate to "chargen parts" (i think it's called that, can't remember off of the top of my head..) then you'll see a button that says "import" click it, then select your .npc file.. then click the preview button down below.. if you are happy with it, then click ok to exit the actor screen, select your actor again by a single click then press cntrl+f4 to export the face data so there is no grey face bug.
  13. i actually just thought of that before isaw your reply aha, great minds thin alike! :P
  14. i stretch my words oddly at times in reality, that would probably explain it.. but err..yeah character quirk *cough* :D :P
  15. updated OP with a few bit, including ingame footage of his voice, sorry about the quality - Fraps + relatively high settings + movement = my laptop crying :P
  16. i'll do a list of perks when i am fully 200% happy with them ) Currently rendering a quick 2 minute video just showing the basics of what it sounds like in game talking to him. It reminded me i need to fiddle with the timings slightly, so it isn't so repetitive. I forgot to mention he is aware of the time of day, as well.. so he will say "morning" and things like that in the morning, he'll comment on mid day t mid afternoon and of course, the evening, too.
  17. Just an update, full functionality is done, i have also added whispering when the PC character is sneaking in the follower functionality menus and currently working on a third functionality set aimed at wood elfs, as high elfs and wood elfs aren't the best of friends ;-) So. basically, if you decide to play as a wood elf, Kalatar will be more to the point and slightly more rude in his answers when you talk to him and he will talk far far far less in his idle chatter as well if you are a wood elf. He's a Good guy at heart, but still an ******** heh.
  18. I don't have too much experience with creating custom followers, I have, but didn't go too much into detail with it. I make custom voicetypes for NPC's in the mod. So there wouldn't be any conflict, right? depends on your naming scheme in the ID's i do believe.. so if you, for example, named your voice types "ShiveringIsleVoiceTpye01" they wouldn't conflict with any mods out ther,e unless they used the same naming scheme, which i would doubt as it is rather specific, i tend to name my companions in the ID pane as 00DhegonusCVfollowerxx (xx being the number, 01/02/03 etc etc). In my eyes t's generally a good protocol to follow because you then minimise the chances of conflicts. lso, the location type are set when you are making a cell, interior or instance etc
  19. be kind to us modders who make custom voice companions, use vanilla loctype for areas and instances, that way our beautifully voiced followers have things to say hehe.
  20. recording sound for ck and getting the lip files is easy. 1.) set up the dialogue subtitles in the ck 2.) go down to the Record/preview/save area and press "Record" leave it for a few seconds, then press stop. 3.) a Temp.wav and Temp.lip file should be created in Data/sound/voices - cool, it worked 4.) open Audacirty, record your line of dialogue using sample rate of 41000 mhz or wat ever it is and set it to mono track. 5.) tinker with noise removal and equalization to get your audio sounding grand. 6.) Go to File > Export then navigate to your sound/voice directory inn skyrim where Temp.wav.lip are located.. name the audio file you are exporting as "temp" then click Yes when asking to overwrite same named file etc 7.) bring back up CK, it should be on the dialogue box still - click on the line where it says it will be saved too.. make sure the box next to "Generate lip file" that says "from wav file" is ticked then click on "Save" then highlight the save directory in the box above again and click on "generate lip fle".. then press preview. Easy )
  21. you can get the same results of all the enb's out there using Imaginator and dynavision and using texture HD packs and it would be far less demanding than an enb would be, as well. The big killer that most computers on the lower end struggle with when it comes to enb is Bloom. if you get optimization mods, that should go some way to helping your computer slightly, also use skyrim configurator which is on the nexus, load it up, tick every box you can find that says "threaded" which will basically make your computer make use of multi core processors.
  22. the promo was just a monologue :) the vast majority (barring a few instances) of the character's speech is actually more natural more than anything.. i decided to do a monologue for this promo because of current time restraints not wanting to give too much away currently.. but never fear, i know what you are on about and share the same views.
  23. hey all, this is going to be my stomping ground thread of a new Custom Voiced follower i am working on, his name is Kalatar, he is a High Elf Ranger, using the Crimson Ranger custom gear as well as a custom bow as well. http://s28.postimg.org/wio87340t/Untitled_000000.png Just a tester video really, so you know what he'll sound like in game, i still need to fine tune things, so more will be added with a wider variety. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9HgAdKn3fg Things to do: Minimum 1k lines of dialogue, looking to tip over 2k though. Custom Perks - Done Quests - Will be added when i finally figure some things out regarding quests. Attire and appearance - Done Time of day aware - Mostly done. Will not idle chatter when sneaking. When sneaking and you talk to him, he'll whisper - Done. So, as i will be concentrating on the dialogue for now and having a lot of free time on my hands, i shall be getting to work on the voice files at a steady rate,or at least i plan to. I don't wish to give too much of his story away as he will tell you in game, but the jist of it is an exiled Thalmor Justiciar looking for redemption, thy enemy of my enemy is my friend. So he basically is a "nice" high elf,but is still rather elitist and pretentious (some habits just die hard) Some Audio Lines Used In Game https://soundcloud.com/dhegonus-blue/kalatar-idle-chatter-draugr
  24. I started a new custom voiced follower and he is ex-Thalmor, by ex, i mean exiled (an enemy of thy enemy is my friend, route). I'll try not to give too much of his story away, but i was wondering, with in the Thalmor, what exactly is the rank structure? I know there is a General rank as it is mentioned in the book "the Great War" in game. But other than "soldier", "wizard" and "Justiciar", there doesn't seem to be much else unless i have missed something? Basically, this character i am making is, well, wanting him to be, an ex-Thalmor Captain.. would the rank adhere to lore or is there a specific rank for it?
