  1. I don' know if this can be done, But I'm trying to make a New Vegas "Arefu" (Fallout 3) so to speak. I'm putting a door at the bottom of the freeway over pass pillar and a man hole cover on the road surface on the top. It's the one near the mole rat farm (Or ranch, can't remember) I got it started, did my doors and door markers, tested it in the GECK and it took me from the bottom to the top just fine. But when I tried it in game, I just keep coming out on the ground on the other side of the pillar. So I set my jump height to 2000 ( Cause I can ) and jumped up to the road surface and fell right thru. Tried it 3 or 4 times with the same results. So I tried it on the one right by Gunrunners, and the same thing happened. IS there a way to make the road surface walkable (With out 10 plus years of computer schooling knowledge) I have a little time in the one I have started, But not a lot. It would be cool to make it work, But if not, So be it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.
  2. I tried the "Copy/Paste" thing and found it just as easy to do it from scratch (But that's just me) I had every thing set at 90 and had the issue, Tried 90.0001 and it was still there. Went to 89.9 and it all good. I have 2 full racks, 2 single racks and 7 plaques and they all work fine at 89.9 and unless you know it's there, it's so close you can't see it. Again thanks Well guess I need to look at page two before I "assume" it didn't post. Now I can't seem to delete this so......

I have two full racks, and seven plaques all set at 89.9 (just worked out that way) and they all work good. Again thanks.
  4. I know this is an OLD post, But I'm kinda new to the creation kit thing, And was going bonkers trying to fix this. After tryiny about 800,000 different things I found this. Bamm all good. Thanks a bunch.
  5. I'm new to this forum (Been around Fallout awhile, But new here) I have started to put together a house and found out the creation kit is a whole lot different then the GECK. I did the first floor interior, Just kind of a shell for now, Walls, Floor, Ceiling And a door. Placed the ext. house, Placed a door, Linked the two doors. Renamed the cell and Placed a map marker. Fast travel works to house, I can go in but I can not exit. So I placed a little NavMesh In front of the int. door (I didn't think that would work, But had to try) And still wont let me out. I also tried to place a respawning chest out side on the deck. The first time I open it the stuff is there, But it wont respawn. Any how I am one of those people not too proud to ask a question (Even if it makes me look like a DUMB A$$) that's how we learn. Any help would be Kool. If this is the wrong place to post this, PLEASE let me know. Thanks in advance
  6. @shadowslasher it is FONV. I uninstalled it, Got HELLA busy at work (Self employed) But got around to reinstalling it a few days ago. When I was starting the reinstall, I got a message from steam telling me the new computer thing again, but.... This time they sent me an e-Mail with a code to set up my "New Computer". Works fine now, Still haven't tried putting Skyrim back on yet to see if it will play, But all is good with FONV so I'm thinking it should be good for Skyrim. Thanks for the help
  7. Well.... Not exactly the answer expected, But i tried it and it works fine. Thanks alot. Now the next question! When I open it up it always opens in images, I have kinda slow internet (The only draw back to country life) And would like to have it open in description, I like to read about it before I look at the pictures and it loads a lot faster then 5,10 or more pics.
  8. I guess this is where I should ask this! I don't know if it's how I have my "Preferences" set up, I went to "Edit Preferences" and looked but can't see a way to change this. When I go to say Files/Categories/Clothing. Going thru, on say page 3 see somthing I want to look at, Change my mind, Hit the drop back arrow and it ALWAYS puts me back to page 1. Not a huge deal just bugs the heck out of me that I can't figure out how to fix that. Thanks for any help
  9. Thanks bben. I finally got a responce from Steam and they are saying it is a issue with Windows live, Not steam. The game's are both store bought (not pirate) and both are registered with windows live and Steam. I wll try all I can to get this working but.... Might just be worth a trip to the local game stop and pick up a new copy. I can kinda see why they need to run the games thru the above mentioned, To try stop pirate versions from running, But it sure can be a pain in the arse for some of use.
  10. To make a week long story short, I had to re-install windows XP on my computer (System Mechanic sucks hairy nut's) After reinstalling CPU, GPU, Sound card ECT. I Reinstalled FONV and Skyrim. Fired up New vegas and it played ok at ultra high, But a little slugish. Other then that it played fine. I played up thru the part where you go kill the Gecko's with Sunny, Then I decided to change the settings to high to see if it would smooth out a bit. At exit or restart (Cant remember) I got an error saying steam could not Sync my game because I was playing on a NEW computer. Not a big deal because it was a clean new game, No mods or nothing. Now after about 15-30 seconds of play it locks up to the point of Ctrl/Alt/Dlt wont even work. So just to see if it was steam or my puter I blew off the dust and installed GTA 4. It Played fine, Resident evil 4, Fine. I tried to just start a new steam acct. different name and all, But it picked up that the game was owend by my old acct. So I sent a E-Mail to steam like 9 days ago and still haven't heard from them, So thought I would run it past you guy's. Can I delete ALL the info from my old acct. and start fresh. I don't realy care about all the old stuff any how. Or can I start a new acct. and play it that way without having to buy a new game. Thanks for any help.
  11. Kinda new to the Skyrim game. I have been using the geck for FO3 and New Vegas for a while now. Question is can I set it up to run off line? I live in the country and am forced to use satellite internet. 500kbps is screaming fast, 80 is more common. Just to load (If it does "Failed to connect to website" error) it takes forever. I am not planing to post any thing I am working on, Just a little tweek here and there for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated, And thanks in advance.

The player picked up the chip in Primm which would have given him/her pleanty of time to stock up on supply's such as fresh water and stuff, but we need to keep in mind he/she is not driving a 2277 f-150 4X4 so walking you would not be taking the long way to vegas, you would be taking the LOOONG way. An earlier post said cut off like half a day, Maybe in a car or truck, But on foot you are talking alot walking. The theory about just letting the courier "Walk thru the battle field" would be good with groups/gangs that would honor it, leagon and GK most likely yes, Raiders and powder gangers..... not so much. The courier was told by old man Nash (I think thats his name) that the first courier for the job quit and said let courier 6 take it, So I'm (WTF happened to my font?) thinking that the courier/player must be a real bad A$$, hence be able to take the more dangerous route. Also he/she might have had a modified Some wicked weapons like a "Light machinegun" You know ext. clip, carbon fiber parts, A $#!t load of ammo and a get er dun attitude. Also keep in mind that he/she is getting paid by the job, not by the hour. So the faster it get's there the better . Maybe they put the player there so someone would start a topic in the Forums and it would give us all a chance to post our thoughts about it (:
  13. Got it working. Thanks a ton to all of you. Just for the thrill of adventure I tried it on a "BathroomStallDoor01" And it worked fine. Still kida lost on the whole Scripting vocabulary thing, But I'm sure thats why most people go to school to learn about it. Next part to the Auto Door saga. I also have a few doors that are locked with a terminal, Say I wanted to have them "Re-lock" after a minute or two, For that matter any terminal. Or if I could have the player Re-lock it manually when they are done with terminal or in the locked room. I am also trying to get the Overseer's desk to open, But I'm trying to get that one by picking apart the one in "101". Not sure if it is giong to work but for now I will keep trying tell I get it or get so pissed off...... I ask for your help. Thanks again :o)
  14. @ Pixelhate I went to link you posted, Seems very informative BUT...... Again i have been stumped. I am trying to do it step by step so as not to screw it up. on the 2nd page (I printed it out) It says "As I mentioned before, the function that we're going to use in this script is ShowMessage. However, this function works by displaying information contained within a message form, so we need to create this message form first. This message form should have the Message Box checkbox unticked, and should have "Hello World!" written in the Message Text box. Let's give it the ID "MyMessage". I can not find the "Message Box checkbox ". I guess it has to be there some place, I just can't find it (and I did look). Any help? Thanks :~I
  15. @CountFuzzball, thanks. I'm sure you guessed this already, But I know nothing about scripting. I have been taught all my life to write/type like this, NotThisSoItIsHardToNotUseSpaces/AndSoManyCaps. Damn that was hard!! I can also see the reasoning to the caps to break up the string of words without breaking up the string. I will keep learnig as long as there are people (like you, pkleiss and others) who are willing to help. Some of the time I will download a mod and see something I think is kool, Then open it in the GECK and try to dissect it best I can to try to pick up little bits here and there instead of posting it first. the Automatic door thing I seen in a New Vegas mod, "The under water home" by T4K, Super kool mod, But didn't know if it would be the same as FO3. Again ThanksForTheHelp LMFAO!!!
  16. Holy $#!t and WOW all at the same time! I just thought there was a box to check or somthing. Ok so.... Like between "Float Timer and Begin OnLoad" there is is a blank line, I will assume that has to be there. In between "begin OnLoad" and "; if the player......" there is a number of space's (About 26 I figure) is that number critical? Like if I count 26 and it's realy 25 will that screw things up? The lines below that (Begin OnLoad) are 4,8,8,12,8,4 spaces, And below "Begin GameMode" They are 4,8,4,8,8,8,12,8,4. I'm sure you are not doing that to make it look cool, because it kinda does, I am going to try this because I love to learn how stuff works, BUT from now on I will be a little cautious about where I place my doors. Also can a line like say "Begin GameMode" be "begin gamemode" Thanks for all the help You are awesome. ;-)
  17. Ok will give it a shot. Also You and every one else talk ALOT about "load order", Can you recommend a good tutorial on how to do that. Seems like there are hundreds of them on the net and hundreds of ways to do it. For that matter the name of a person doing them that is smart enough to do them right. I watched one on placing X-Markers, It worked fine, But after going thru and giving every one of them (13or 14) a "Unique Name", I found out later from a bethsoft video that was not necessary. The Bethsoft ones seem to be good, But the only ones I have found from them are "How to" and not "What if". Keep in mind I am not a Geek as it were, More of a Ge (WINK). Thanks for the help
  18. I would like to know how to get the "Automatic door" feature to work in the GECK. I did a search and came up blank. There is a box for it in the edit window, But can't figure out how to make it work. Here is the issue, In my vault I put in a Galley area, When the door is open on the lower floor it sticks thru the opening for the upper floor. I know there has to be another way to fix it, I just went to 108 and seen the same setup there (Not auto doors,But one on top of another photos below) I just think the auto door thing is kinda kool. As always thanks in advance.
  19. @ Blove So are you saying I should, Or I can. If I should, do I just need to go to the FO3Edit and uncheck the box? As far as the load order goes, It does not seem to be a problem as far as I can tell.
  20. @ Lorenzo19. I went to FO3Edit and changed the ESP in to a ESM. I have placed everything From assault rifles (from a few different mods) to toilet paper. I have been to, Left and returned to the vault several different times and all is still right where I placed it. I'm not sure what you are trying to say, But I did it and It worked. Now as far as the "Duplicate" thing I'm not sure what you mean about that either. I have narrowed it down to when it happens. I tried to use a Blank door mod by making two ESPs active at once, I thought that was how it was done. After I saved on the GECK I went to the game, And the doors were not there, Then went back to the GECK that was when I noticed it. I have learned thats not how to do it. So now even after changing it in FO3EDIT, If I try to load it (the blank door) I get the "Duplicate cell" but that is the only time I get it. So for now I will use the VDoorSliding02, Looks kinda silly, but better than the wrong number on the door.
  21. Like I said before this will never make the Nexus. First off there are plenty of Vault mods out there already, Built by MUCH more qualified modders. This is a learning project for me, All though it did get a little more complex then I had originally planned, But I just couldn't bring my self to build a two room box. The FO3edit does have very "Extensive documentation" And right now I have way too much other $#!t going on in my life to look thru it. Once things settle down, I'll check it out, But for now I will just keep pluging along. Again I say ment thanks. And I'm sure "I'll be back"
  22. Sweet deal. Worked like a champ. I played, saved, exited the game three or four times and all seems good. Now for the follow up questions. Do I need to keep it as a master or do I need to change it back? Does it matter how many masters I have? Because if I need to do this to all the ESP's I would like to use I'm going to have more masters then plugins (slight exaggeration) , But if it doesn't effect the GECK or game play that don't bother me at all. And if it does, Then I guess I will have to pick and chose a little better. Is there a book or complete Tutorial some where so I don't have to keep bugging you guy's with all my questions? Both of you Many thanks
  23. Ok lets say I want to use the tooth paste from BauPetSupplies.ESP Plugin data file. I think part of what is confusing me is I thought a "Master" was an ESM, So I don't understand how I could save a ESP Master if ESP is a plugin (Scratching my head). So in a nut shell, How do I make a ESP a master and how would I "Flag" it as ESM. Do I have to change and flag say the tooth paste, Then change and flag the toilet paper Ect. or do I just need to change the ESP itself. Sorry about all the Questions, But I guess that is how we learn. Again Thanks in advance
