  1. How does one go about finding out exactly which mods need Precombined and pre-vis regenerating, Obviously not every mod in my load order will need it but I'm curious if master files need this process done too, I'm checking for files that break previs by following RRTV's video but I'm not sure what to do with the information I get at the end of it all as some mods will be or have been overwritten by others, so in that sense what does a user do, this is more of a generalized question but for the sake of information I shall say I think I found a couple of broken precombines in Sim Settlements but I know it's a master and gets overwritten by other mods, in such circumstances what should the average user do Any help ?
  2. I get this issue also and I am not running Fallsouls so I'm not sure what it is for me.
  3. It is such a ridiculous feature, I mean I like it but it should have been given an on/off option, It annoyed me so much that I searched long enough to find a way to actually disable it (disabling the exit save only works when exiting to main menu though, and it still works as of this current build) Now I can test mods without the fear that they're going to be trapped on my save game forever :D

Skyrim Script Extender page has a small notice on the top stating that it will not be a quick and easy process since they have to adapt to many changes and all of them will have to be investigated on a case by case basis, for word by word reference click here Also there is this informative post from behippo on Beth net forums click here All of this and the other discussions I've had with members of other gaming communities implies that this will be a long drawn out process but time will tell if that ends up being the case.

SKSE will be a while honestly since they'd have to recompile it in x64 and not x86 now, but it should still be here at some point, maybe not this year though, who knows.

Tannin has already said there will be MO like features for NMM but it will likely feature as "Addons/extensions" since the main goal here is to have this new manager sit well with everyone and not just the MO crowd. Whether it's relavent or not anymore, I feel this needs to be said... Anyone who truly supported Tannin while he was making MO (for Free no less) should have no cause to issue such crass words to him now, The only sellouts (and I'm hoping other people agree with me) is those who are turning their back on Tannin for his decision.

I always love reading your essays (sorry did I say essays, I meant posts ;) ) I do fully agree with your points though, many of the mods I have grown to love over the years have lost their original author through one way or another, It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who thinks we need to band together as a community and work to heal the rift that has been made by the past misjudgements of others.

There is no need to degrade anyone for what they do or don't like :)
  9. I think there should be a specific area designated to the wonderful talents that create so much magic in the game, yes I'm talking about the voice actors, maybe a spotlight on the main page specifically for this purpose, including a meet and greet the VA option, this would or should bring the VA and modders together and closer to the community and at the same time show them all how much them and their time/work is appreciated.

I can't currently think of any of my own that would befit such a tool that hasn't already been posted up here, so instead for now until my brain kicks in, I'm going to give a solid acronym for Thallassa's idea. N.O.M.M = Nexus Official Mod Manager Everytime I see NeMO though I think of a fish, I'm not sure I could take the mod manager seriously with a name like that :D
  13. Well the first thing that jumped out at me was these lines HighResTexturePack01.esp=1HighResTexturePack02.esp=1HighResTexturePack03.esp=1 Are these 3 optimized properly or are they direct from steam, the reason I ask is the one's direct from steam are known to be a HUGE drain on your fps and loading of games due to how badly they were packed and optimized,With regards to your papyrus log if the only repeatable errors/warnings your getting are from Deadly Dragons and the mod author is still active then get him/her to look over your papyrus log and tell you if those messages are a problem.
  14. So today I was riding from Whiterun to Falkreath in a carriage (using Touring Carriages) and I couldn't help but notice the carriages look terrible, so I set about looking on the nexus for a replacer for them and I couldn't find a single one, so does anybody know of a texture replacer for the carriages or if one doesn't exist where I could find the files needed to edit to try my hand at it ?
  15. I'm not asking for secret ini settings, my game already runs as smooth as it possibly can. I was simply asking if anyone was more in the know than I about which lines of the one's listed in the spoiler tags were still used by the game, as I honestly cannot see the point of adding in settings/variables if the game does not make use of them anymore. I will persist with testing this out as well as see if more people respond to this with their own findings and or opinions :)
  16. So I was looking through the Update.ini file from the "Speed and Stability Guide for ENB" and I just wondered if the settings/variables in that are still applicable in today's games with the new breakthroughs in ini coding and I have a question regading it. With the amount of settings that this ini adds, some of which were not present in the ini's after using SPini exe from DoubleYou, are they actually doing anything positive, I thought before I installed it I would check if they existed in game with the getini console command and here's the results I found I'll list it as so Setting=Value ; annotation (whether it's a new record (I.E not found with getini command) duplicate or found in a different ini file) What do you guys think to this, are all of these settings/variables even used anymore and what effect are they likely to have on the game overall.
  17. You can run your Xbox one through your pc entirely as long as you set it up initially, Obviously your Xbox will need to be set to "Instant-on" in order for your pc to turn it on remotely and you'll still need to insert the disc in to play the game (but that was obvious right) there is at best a second or so of input lag which would be noticable if you were to run online versus or some other fast paced game mode. I haven't tested it recently so I can't give accurate instructions on it but essentially this works and even allows you to play in full screen on your pc and you can even plug in and play another console (PS3/Xbox 360) into the HDMI in port on the back of the Xbox and then should be able to stream that to the pc also (not tested this one yet) If you need any more info I will be happy to try and provide what I can knowledge wise :)

Bethesda actually acknowledging this on twitter does carry a bit more weight than the hoaxes I've seen before, ok you can consider me slightly excited about this now. I'll accept concept art at least it proves that it's real this time, I would love a newer engine and better creation kit/g.e.c.k to work with and better windows optimization I guess we'll see if that actually happens.

I mean I will sit on the fence about this until I see actual unequivocal proof from Bethesda themselves, and not just a flash screen that has been done so many times before, I've been fooled before so I'm just being very cautious about this, if it's true then huzzah I will join you in the celebrations, I just don't want to get excited just to be let down again is all.

  21. Let's hope they have decided to use a newer engine and provide a less buggy game this time, I mean Fallout is good but it's still a mess when it comes to windows, maybe they can actually release it as a PC title with proper PC optimization code this time, I remain hopeful at least No official confirmation means me not being bothered by this, I've seen way too many hoaxes on this to jump on the bandwagon just yet.
  22. This sounds like a good idea! That is a great idea, you can currently change your title (Enthusiast, fan, old hand...) to whatever you choose, however having it update to a different name based on your interaction level within the community sounds like it could be of benefit to this community, Since this is server based and probably runs on Python and Java among others including but not limited to HTML it shouldn't be impossible to implement this idea as the ranks could easily be adopted and changed based on status and activity, it is as yet an unknown as to whether the languages used in the sites creation have automation tools which would make this job easier, perhaps even someone could write the code up (if you knew php, html, java, css, Python, etc....) Guess we'll have to wait for a moderator to weigh in on this one for more details.
  23. That may be the understatement of the year. Time is a finite resource. And there already isn't enough of it to go around. /warning sarcasm follows/  While the moderated review may look like a great idea, we currently support mods for a LOT more than just Skyrim - in fact currently about 173 games. That means that the staff will have to somehow acquire all of these games, and play them each enough to be familiar with their various quirks and play styles - that will take more time than we have - More time than another 30 moderators will have - Just to learn the games. Then, we get as many as a hundred mods here a day - meaning that someone will have to spend a lot of time just downloading and playing new mods. Add in the 115,843 mods we already have and you just took my next 200 years doing nothing but playtesting and writing reviews for mods. Then that number is constantly increasing so we will never catch up. When do we get to sleep? Oh, so you think we should only work with those games you like. And forget about those that other members like? Yeah, that will go over real well with people who like some other games. :pinch: Even if we were to limit this to Skyrim alone - there just isn't nearly enough time to do a reasonable review of every new mod that comes along. How about we allow members to comment on each mod in that mods forum page - that allows anyone to submit their own personal review of any mod they play. And that is exactly the system we have always used. Unfortunately, a lot of members just skip over this obvious place to make and find reviews and just use the mod forum as a place to demand the author change the mod to suit their personal preference. Or just "Your mod sucks." With no explanation of why they think this. The main reason many mods haven't been covered in a YouTube review is there are just too many mods to do them all. Besides, you don't have the time to watch all of the already existing YouTube review videos anyway. I appreciate the input, the original idea was something of a forum that could be policed by someone whereby mod users could post reviews up, but I totally understand the constraints of members and moderators within the website and as such I will continue to try and think up new ways of enhancing the community, what are your thoughts on the other ideas, is there also a way for users to host an outside webpage whereby reviews could be posted up and linked to the mod in question. I understand that at present a lot of members don't use the mod pages for what they are currently designed for and that is a problem that cannot be fixed by myself or anyone else except the people who are doing so. I am just trying to offer any and all help I can in furthering the longevity of this great community.
  24. I'll just put this here instead it seems a more fitting place for it Well some more ideas on how we " The Community " can enhance appreciation of not only the modders but the users as well. I'll bullet point some ideas, feel free to comment and tell me if they are good/bad and whether you think implementing them will enhance or detract from the community spirit (this also includes input from moderators and Admin's including Dark0ne himself) Monthly or quarterly (every 3 months) events/sweepstakes where the prize could be a gift of some sorts (this would have to be worked out, but is feasible) Moreover every month would likely be a little excessive, could be reduced down to every 3 or 4 months (this number is at the mods/admins discretion) Once every 6 months or annually hold a huge developer supported mod contest where the winner could receive a gift from developer (could help build relations back up) Developer gift could be swag bag of goodies or something of equal or greater value. Set up and run a moderated Review page for any and all mods, we could have mod users submitting reviews for mods they use, this would give people more creativeness and it would also shine a much needed light on more and more mod authors. This one could be an extreme pain to initialize as it would probably require more hosting power and would ultimately cost more, still worth a suggestion though. Offer more substantial rewards to active/helpful members: The one's who show a certain degree of decorum and actually help benefit the site in a positive way would then feel more rewarded for their continuous efforts to enhance and grow the community and contribute towards it's positive future. These are just off the top of my head ideas for enhancing this already great albeit slightly damaged community after the recent outbreak of last weekend, the above ideas are all subject to the discretion of the Admins/Moderators.
  25. -EDIT- The initial reply was not directly aimed at the discussion in hand and has been removed/edited My new reply will follow below There is some truth in the fact that the use of the word "user" can have negative effects on a person or individual but until a positive and neutral alternative arrives there is little to do. While I agree that sometimes certain words can be demeaning it's mostly down to who says it and how they are saying it, words only carry the conviction of the people who spread them, I do not dislike the term "user" as it describes someone who uses something, it can also be described negatively as someone who is a *use 'em and lose 'em' person ergo someone who uses something for personal gain but never gives back, a leech if you will. since the terminology "users" is not in a descriptive form: I.E it's not a readable text entry on anyone's profile then it's not a highly visible problem. There is very little to replace "user" with as there is not many words which remain true to understandability while explaining themselves in such an explicit way.
