  1. If I recall correctly, it is 1000 unique downloads for one mod, or a total of 1000 unique downloads for multiple mods for the same game. From Dark0ne: Each game used to have its own site. Given that each game is no longer it's own site, the admission criteria gets confusing..
  2. I created a player home in Goodsprings. I copied the exterior house from one in Novac (Dusty's house). The interior of the house is a modified copy of a house in Primm. the basement is a modified copy of the Followers Safehouse. Everything works fine, except for one annoying little nit. When I open the PIPBoy map in the basement, It shows my next quest goes through the Followers Safehouse. When I open the PIPBoy map in the ground floor part of the house, it shows the pathing to my next quest runs through the house in Primm. Now, I know that there has to be a field I need to update to set these things so the pathing goes out the right doors and outside to Goodsprings and not through Primm or the Followers House. But, I cannot find the field I need to update. Any guidance would be appreciated.
  3. @Michalius, if you are not going to believe us here, then stop posting and contact an attorney. Maybe you will believe the advice of someone if you have to pay them.
  4. As a very practical example, I love the Northern Springs Mod. Even unfinished as it is, it is unique. But it contains one off items from the base game (bobble heads, weapons, quest reward items, and the like). I was not fond of this mod containing and (in my opinion) cheapening these items. So, I made a mod to remove all these one off items from the Northern Springs mod. My mod is a derivative work based on Northern Springs, and therefore, to keep within the laws of copyright, I had to get permission from jshrapnelc (the original author of Northern Springs) to release my mod. Turns out, I was not the only one to lament the inclusion of these one off items, and jshrapnelc gave me his blessings.
  5. No worries. It's not a show stopper, or anything near one.
  6. It resets on a page reload through the browser. Closing the browser and reopening the browser and linking to the forums again has it reset. Just about anything that refreshes the forums home screen will reset the minimized forums.
  7. You will probably hear this again, but what you are requesting could get a mod author in deep doodoo. It is against the EULA for the CK to create any mod for financial reward.
  8. I use one device, and do not clear cookies. This not remembering of minimized forums only began occurring following the mandated password change.
  9. I still use NMM. Just for the simplicity. I get mods from all over the map, Beth.net, Nexus, Steam, and other content creators websites. I can manage them all with NMM, and that meets my needs. EVERY time i have attempted to use Vortex I have had issues. I gave up after the third attempt. NMM is still supported, and the download site is here: https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Nexus-Mod-Manager/releases. And with that, I am out of this one.
  10. On https://forums.nexusmods.com/ I minimize some of the forums, as they hold no interest to me for any of several reasons. Now, you may be asking, "What is a minimized forum"? Hover your cursor over the forum title line for say "Nexus Mod Manager - NO LONGER SUPPORTED". A black box will appear to the right of the title with a big dash. Click that dash, and the forum will minimize. Now to my issue. Minimized forums used to stay minimized across sessions, but no longer.
  11. Nothing is ever free. If your aren't paying for something out of your pocket, then someone else is paying for you out of their pocket. Get over it and move on.
  12. heavy sigh What you see with Witcher 3 and your two authors has become a pattern in several games. Elder Scrolls and Fallout (the games I play) have also had authors remove their mods in the last year. And good authors, too. The abuse by users who think that a free mod entitles them to something more has grown beyond the level of tolerance. What is worse, some authors have turned on their fellows. Arguments over author's rights and the exercise of an authors copyright and other Intellectual property rights have become nasty and insult filled. The cathedral vs parlor discussions have had venomous and hate-filled arguments. And most recently, the debate about mod-packs has had some abusive discussions which have driven even more authors to the exit. Worst of all, it isn't just users and authors, it is the Nexus too. The Nexus administrative policies are part of the problem. The Nexus policies on an authors IP have changed. Piracy of another authors content used to be an instant ban, but now, theft is "punished" with just a simple warning. Also, with their latest changes to their ToS, the Nexus has claimed even greater authority over how an authors content is distributed, allowing Nexus to use delivery mechanisms which the author might not approve. So, to escape abusive people, to regain control of the distribution of their mods, and/or to combat the theft of their mods, authors are removing their mods from Nexus, their content forever lost. Sad, ain't it.
  13. I believe the default setting on mod pages allows users to vote tags onto mods. So it only takes 3 people to vote on the missing tags and the problem can be resolved  Are you willing to volunteer the time and effort of three members of the moderation staff to find and go through all 10,000 or so untagged mods and add the appropriate tags? Especially since the Nexus "lost" the untagged mods data with the last update. The question is rhetorical. But, ... How much easier t'would be to just require authors to add tags when uploading their mods? And/or/maybe just give users the option to block untagged mods from search results.
  14. If you are going to start a new database, you could do worse that start with the list of acronyms in the Nexus Wiki: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Common_acronyms
  15. Unfortunately, blocking tags is ineffective, as that feature only works for mods which are actually tagged. Mods with no tags will flood any search result.
  16. Well said, and well written. The issue, however, is that some folks equate the economic theories of Communism and Socialism with the authoritarian governments which have instituted such economic theories. Thus, in the minds of some, Communism and Socialism are theories of governance and not economics. And that is what makes Communism (and Socialism) a "bad word", as it is assumed that Communism is about governance and not economics.
  17. You might want to try this Discord: https://discord.gg/BD5NnUA They specialize in Xbox SE load orders. Just introduce yourself and tell then I sent you.
  18. It isn't one thing, but a combination of things. Too much bad exercise and not enough good exercise. IE, too many spoon lifts and too few plate pushes. Seriously, there is an inverse relationship between the amount of exercise you do and the size of your butt'n'gut. And how much we eat has an impact as well. I remember getting a full meal on a 9" plate as a kid but as an adult, I fill a 12" plate and go back for more. What's the old saw? It isn't the minutes you take to eat that make you fat, it's the seconds. Simply eating less helps. What we eat is also important. Too much processed food and hollow calories has some impact. The saying was "If food comes in a box, it probably isn't good for you", We can add plastic packaging to that. We also eat far too many starches and too few fruits and vegetables. And Degurechalf is also correct. It used to be that energy was expended in the obtaining and preserving of food. You wanted fruits and vegetables in the dead of winter you worked hard in the fall. You got the fruits and vegetables and made your own canned food for the winter. Now, you just trot down to the local market and plunk down a couple bucks for an over processed product. So there is no simple answer to "What is causing the obesity explosion". Now I am going to get some ice cream. See you.
  19. What HadToRegister said. Some people cannot discuss political disparity calmly and political discourse turns into a confrontation of self righteousness.
  20. Do not confuse democracy with freedom. Democracy simply assumes that the majority respects the freedom of all. How does that reconcile with Reservations, Concentration Camps, Interment Camps, Ghettos, ... How does that reconcile with Jim Crow, Lynch, Slavery, Forced Labor ... No, democracy is not the same as freedom.
  21. You obviously missed the plural in the words "links' and "reports".
  22. In Socialism, the government owns the farms and factories, and the products of those farms and factories. Every person contributes to the government based on some assigned schedule (quota). Goods are distributed by a bureaucrat who decides who gets what and when. In Communism, the community as a whole owns the farms and factories, and the products of those farms and factories. Each person contributes to the whole as they are capable, and is permitted to take what they need. The weak point in both these systems is human greed. In communism, someone invariably decides they should get more because they work harder and contribute more. So they either start taking more for themselves and their family or they slow down their production to contribute only enough to cover themselves and their family. In socialism, the bureaucrat (and the superiors of that bureaucrat) who parcels out the goods will decide that they can hold back more for themselves and their family and simply raise the required production levels. In either case, the result is collapse of the system. When a communist system collapses, it evaporates and everyone goes their separate ways. People are free to choose to participate in a communist system, or not. As I pointed out before, communes are the modern example of a communist system. Socialism is under the control of the central government, the folks that have the army under their control. These folks have the power to enforce their dictates at the point of a gun (or under the treads of a tank). And that is what one sees in the old Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and in China today. Yesterdays anniversary of Tiananmen Square and the atrocities committed on that day are the perfect example. Tanks used to enforce the governments wishes. Unfortunately, the WORD 'communism' as it is used today was coined following the end or WWII by one Senator Joseph McCarthy. He rose to infamy by accusing anyone and virtually everyone of being a communist or a "fellow traveler". Today the WORD 'communism' is used as a synonym for 'socialism' without any understanding of what the words means in reality. As I said in my original post, the WORD 'communism' is used as a linguistic shortcut for "authoritarian communism" or socialism, and is highly inaccurate. And all of that came from reading books. The issue of relying on experience as a basis for evaluating something is that experience is haphazard and arbitrary. No two people perceive the same event the same way, so two different people can have completely contradictory or polar accounts of the same event. Experience is always colored by ones own biases, beliefs and perceptions and are seldom viewed objectively. To avoid repeating myself, here is what I said earlier. And as an aside, the unreliability of 'experience' and 'first hand accounts' is one of the reasons that 'eyewitness testimony' is often discounted in a court of law.
  23. Matthew 7:6: ‘Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you’ Yeah, I know. The arrogant, 'holier than thou', educated, intellectual quotes from another book to make you look ... ah ... foolish.
