  1. I'm not actually using BAIN since my current game started before it was released, so I can't help you there. If you still canæt get it to wrork and nobody else can help you I suggest you try OBMM instead.
  2. I definitely recommend not compressing BSAs. For the BAIN and OMOD archives it doesn't matter in regards to the game's performance.
  3. You need to either create a new OMOD or edit the old one. Yes. BSAs are just containers storing graphics and sound files. If you are starting a new modded game from scratch you may want to use the BAIN utility of Wrye Bash instead, since that utility keeps better track of files. With OBMM you run the risk of deleting files in the Data folder (ie not inside BSAs) that you would want to keep.
  4. If you want to use lots of mods with minimal problems you need to use BOSS to sort the load order and Wrye Bash to make a Bashed Patch. Many mods also need to be "cleaned" with TES4EDIT to maximize stability. And to maximize compatibility TES4EDIT is a great tool for finding and fixing conflicts.
  5. ; [streamsave Settings] Streamsave configuration [snip] ;----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- set SLv.PurgeBeforeSave to 0 ; Do a purge before a Streamsave?
  6. From in-game press CTRL-HOME to bring up the menu. Should be an option there. If not edit the sr.ini file. Note that if you edit ini file you have bring up the menu in-game and choose re-initialize ini file for the changes to take effect.
  7. If you have set Streamsave to purge cell buffers, try turning that option off.
  8. Stealth Overhaul Thievery in the Imperial City Let There Be Darkness Dungeon Actors Have Torches Exterior Actors Have Torches Some sort of Darker Nights mod (I use All Natural) All Natural - Real Lights Duke Patricks - Fresh Kills Now Alert The NPCs Duke Patricks - Near Miss Magic And Arrow Shots Alert The Target Proximity Based Sneak Penalties
  9. Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. It's in a class of it's own.
  10. OOO is most certainly still worked on and is IMO the best choice for a single overhaul, since it does not only overhaul nearly every aspect of the game for the better, it also adds lots of new items and creatures, several large quests and lots and lots of small things that add to the immersion. FCOM is based mostly on OOO, but also adds the monsters from MMM as well as much stuff from Frans, WarCry and Bob's Armoury.
  11. Windfall is in a class of it's own, IMO. Kragenirs Death Quest is also very good, and expands on many of the things only hinted at in the vanilla game. Thievery in the Imperial City is a fantastic quest mod for a thief.
  12. If it overrides skeleton.nif I wouldn't recommend it.
  13. Well, OOO has the Light of Dawn. I haven't found it yet, but I think it may fit the bill.
  14. Suggestion: When Reporting, automatically send a copy of the report to the person whose message are being reported. That way people will know who reported them and why. I find it rather offensive to have messages, where all I did was point out a conflict between two mod, reported and not know why it was reported or by whom. Maybe then some people would be less inclined to hit the Report button.
  15. PyFFI. You can use this program to optimize the meshes Oblivion and mods use. Unoffical Patch. Already optimizes many vanilla meshes and textures. And check out this page.
