  1. If you have some questions feel free to ask...
  2. Make a new skyrim installation that way: ...as all your saves relying on your mods you should install all of them, sort your load order, clean your dirty edits again, and: make a copy of a save, and try the following programs on that save you just copied. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53045/?
  3. If we talking about this: http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/morpheus-i5-custom-gaming-pc-p-167.html A: The power supply is more that enough fot that system. B: The difference over the i5-6400 would be negligible C: If you don't have the intention to overclock, the stock cooler will be enough for that processor. D: Even if it's not necessary, you could add another 8GB, but no more...(there is no need for more even for the latest games around) E: The HDD wouldn't bring you any performance gain, however if you feel the need for more space go with an larger one, or even better invest on a SSD in the future. Tip: A larger HDD would be a good idea, also some extra fans would not harm either. ----- Also, IMHO i wouldn't go with the Alienware for three reasons. Overtime that computer will get quite hot, as the case is a small factor case. The lowest possible model, IS NOT A GAMING MACHINE. Alienwares are too overpriced for what they offer...
  4. > and if Kaby Lake is a nice performance gain, you can always upgrade then, or continue to wait until they release something worthwhile (e.g. Cannonlake or beyond). < Either way, if he goes with the Haswell or Skylake or he wanna upgrade if a new processor comes out in the future, as it seems the performace will be almost equal. (more or less) The thing is, some people don't wanna upgrade every few years to a new platform (chipset inclusive processor). You make a buy and stick with that as long as you can. From this perspective as the Skylake platform is newer (for good or worse) there is no need for a quick upgrade in the future. With Haswell we don't know for how long Intel willl support that processor. On a new build you always go with the lastest one, as long as it lasts. You would do the same thing with an Automobil, i guess...
  5. From this site: http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/ the Apollo i7 Skylake PC is a very good conf, ans will play all today games on high resolutions and high details. (of course if you can spend that amount of money) ----------------- 1 - http://www.ukgamingc...g-pc-p-167.html 2 - http://www.ukgamingc...g-pc-p-117.html 3 - http://www.ukgamingc...puter-p-97.html From those above, number 1 should be faster than number 2, as GTX 950>GTX 750Ti As for number 3, it has the GTX 750Ti but a higher clocked processor. So the performace will be higher than number 2 (as number 2 has a lower clocked processor) and close enough to number 1.
  6. However Skylake and DDR4 will be the new tomorrow if you wanna go with an Intel CPU, so for a new PC build - i would suggest you to consider that option as well.
  7. For that price, inclusive Monitor not bad. However i have a Skylake configuration for you, if you are intrerested for. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Yppbbv
  8. There is an particular BenQ 18.5" 1366x768 Monitor, but it costs near 100 bucks. + shipping costs i assume. http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-GL955A-18-5-inch-Monitor/dp/B009PV6U6I%3Fpsc%3D1%26SubscriptionId%3DAKIAICG4QGEBOZIENBWA%26tag%3Dkagoo09-21%26linkCode%3Dsp1%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB009PV6U6I However it has only a VGA port, so no DVI and HDMI connection. (that makes things a bit difficult to find an appropriate GPU for that Monitor.) That leaves you with a remaining 700 (?!?) dollars for a PC build + peripherals + Operating system.
  9. If it's a steam game, verify your game cache files, except for some strange reasons those files are hidden, or you look at the wrong folder. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335
  10. As above, why 1366x768 reolution? All today displays are far beyond that barrier. If you mean, you wanna play at 1366x768 res - only, i thing today CPU-GPU components have suficient power to keep up with that resolution easily. In the other hand, as you can only spend 800 bucks for a complete build, peripherals like you mentioned above, will reduce your overall RIG performance. So, in that price range you will get a decent computer configuration, but either way you must lower your expectations on those peripherals or you must take to consideration a performance penalty on your RIG. There is no other way actually, with that given budget.
  11. Why you don't go straight away with an Intel CPU? With that CPU you are out of choices, for an better CPU. And intel is top tiop leader as gaming concerns. There is no doubt about. IMHO AMD Radeon R9 Fury is not quite a 980 Ti killer. !!!
  12. Yes that seems a very good PC conf. The i5 is strong enough and the GTX 960 can keep up with the most games out there. Even the PSU is from Cooler Master. At least a branded product, and not a "no name" PSU as the most pre-builds have. And lastly you get 3 years warranty. The most pre-builds have only one. !!! ---------- If you can afford it, go with that setup...and don't look back.
  13. Except sentinel says there is a power issue, and i don't know if that's the case here. ------ If he has a warranty even better. The problem would be solved, of course that depends on the store - how quick can he resupply the OP with a new pair of GPU's. ------ > If the fans are simply failed (do they spin up?) its likely the card isn't allowing itself to engage full p-state < That would explain the crashes whilst playing. !!!
  14. Either way keep your computer and make the best of it, or just wait if you can efford a rew rig in the furure. For Skyrim this would be OK (but not with mods like Realvision ENB, especially the full version) Also for Fallout 4, you may get playable frame-rates at 1080p (low setting) with that RIG. However if you don't mind to lower the resolution and tweak the settings a bit, this game wil be much playable. -------- Actually the CPU is not bad, but can't keep up with an Intel i5, especially on games like Fallout 4. If you wanna make an upgrade now, it should be your GPU for sure. So, if you van afford it go with the GTX 970 or equivalent AMD CPU. (So an Ati R9 390) ---------- With that PSU your system with an R9 390 will get you little above the 500 watt barrier. With the GTX 970 it will consume less than 400 watt. Wattages are estimated only. !!!
  15. The price is OK for what the card has to offer.
  16. It's obviously a GPU malfunctioning. If W10 is the culprit or just your GPUs went broke after a lot of usage is unknown. To answer the original question: Yes, a driver can kill a video card, but it is rather rare and requires an extreme move by the driver maker (Nvidia is this situation), such as forcing the fan to power down and allowing the gpu to build up heat to the point of failure. ------- Also as obobski stated above, a complete system build with an FX-9590 and a 2-way Crossfire GPU system comes near to 900 Watt power uage. !!! That's a bit too close...However this particular PSU has an outstanding performance.
  17. The CPU is very good. With that configuration you should get near 60 fps on 1080p and medium settings. For higher detail settings a GTX 960 and above would be recommended. Yes a SSD lowers the loading times a lot. Even on Fallout 4. So, if you have the cash, a SSD is recommended also.
  18. From your 5 choices, as number 5 is not available anymore, number 4 should be the next one. However if you can find a better CPU with the same GPU (GTX 960) from number 4, that would be the best. !!!
  19. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/780430-transferring-nmm-mods-to-a-new-computer/ (post #3)
  20. Amazon would be the most appropriate place to start. ---------------- If you go with that RIG or similar you will be able to play Fallout at 1080p (ultra) However keep i mind Fallout 4 suffers form many bugs, glitches, save crashes, and sometimes the game doesn't even start. I advise you to seach that forum for any workarounds and possible fix. Also as many people we must wait for a patch from the devs. The RIG would be faster if the prices on Australia wasn't so expensive. !!! ---------------- Do not hesitate to ask for any questions and workarounds for your PC build.
  21. > Finally, Windows 8 would be my pick as the OS as Windows 10 has been getting a lot of negative press everywhere I look, perhaps in the future when the reviews pick up I may look into upgrading. < I guess W7 has not much life in it, and supoort will end in a couple of years. So W8.1 is a wise choice, and the same stable as W7. Nothing negatively to complain about W10, as i us it on my two systems. Of course, W7 was and is a very good OS from Windows. So at the end the choice is yours. ------- > As to the Intel CPU, I looked it up and do you suggest that the higher the 'i', as in i3, i7, etc, would make for a better CPU? Or does it not matter over all? < More or less. The higher the number the higher the performance on the same CPU speed. But there are other factors like Turbo Boost, cache size and threads per core. At the end, the i3 is the beggining of the Intel CPU line, the i5 can stand up with the most games out there, and an i7 (the creme de la creme.) are mostly for applications than can use all the 8 threads of that processor, or if you do a lot of things at the same time on your PC. ------------- 32GB is overkill if you only concern is gaming. Even 16GB is too much, but because RAM is quite cheap (compared to an CPU or GPU) you could go with that, and never look back.
  22. But you can play it on an account even if it's not yours, right? So, if you know the account name (Username - password) and @mail, you should be able to play that game. Verifying wouldn't be a problem then...
  23. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/RHWPCJ This one is without an operating system.!!! It seems in Australia prices are a bit stiff. lol
  24. If you have mods, it could be mod related. ----------- If not, delete any files named: fontconfig.txt fonts_en.swf fonts_en2.swf gfxfontlib.swf Translate_ENGLISH.txt ...in your Data\Interface folder and *verify your game cache files. *https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335 ----------- I assume you native language is English, and regional settings are set to English as well in your control ppanel. !!!
