  1. Try reloading. if that doesn’t work, these are the console codes for the staves... Fear (00029b8c) Firebolt (0004c6ca) Magelight (000be121) Repulsion (00029b9a) Yeah, I know it’s cheating, but if there’s no other way.
  2. Since you just started, yeah, delete everything and start over. Then add mods one or two at a time and play them for a couple of real world hours rather than shotgun loading a bunch, that way if you start having conflicts it’s a lot easier to find out what mod is causing it, just like Anjenthedog suggested. Be sure the mod you downloaded was either made for or ported for SSE, some old rim mods will work, others won’t. One thing I noticed with my games is any mods done around/change the Whiterun area seem to cause more problems than anywhere else in the game, might just be me, but I think it also has to do with how much of the game is scripted around that area. Edited to add I see you’re using a few mods that change the topographic visuals, those might be clashing. Also, with the mods you downloaded, did you make sure to also download all the additional requirements for each?
  3. It may not technically be against the law, but it is a dirt bag move. Take something that is free, modify the content just enough to beat the system, claim it as your own, and charge for it. Heck, reading through the comments he even admits to it being “very similar indeed”.
  4. For me it was Mothership Zeta, not only was it a great DLC, but all the alien blasters were far and away my favorite weapons. As to vanilla quest, I enjoyed helping Moria make the survival guide, I did it early enough in the game it introduced me to places to explore.
  5. If you want to destroy the brotherhood, when Astrid kidnaps and has you in the shed, she will ask you to kill one of the three captives in there with you. Rather than killing them, you kill Astrid then report to any guard in any city, and they will direct you to an inspector in Solitude that gives you a quest to kill all the brotherhood members. if you do kill Astrid there is no way to join the brotherhood and lose out on some interesting quest and quest specific items, plus you don’t kill Cicero or meet mother, but you do get a lot of loot from raiding their sanctuary.
  6. I like the sound of that, I’ll be looking it up!
  7. I know you didn’t do the Dark Brotherhood quest due to your reasons, but there is a mod that justifies the murders and in many cases makes a good point as to why they need killing. its called Dark Brotherhood for good guys... http://https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/ Also, there are many follower mods with associated quest, from Vilja, Recorder, to Mirai the girl with the dragon heart. Just look around on Nexus, there are many quest and downloads you can play with to add hours of entertainment, heck I can spend almost as much time looking at all the mods as I do playing the game.
  8. OK, now this is great, Sofia would laugh, Vilja would cringe, and Seductress Faye would call them a waste of Food... http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTRmAhu08pA On a side note, there is Jeff Winner, plays some more metal songs from Skyrim SE, dude does some seriously good stuff, not just for SE but quite a few other games, definitely worth the look... http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw1sj8pOmd4
  9. I personally like Heather Casdin by llamaRCA, great follower, can hack terminals, and has quite a bit of dialogue. Cute too.
  10. Look, I’m new at this, Skyrim SE is my first foray into the PC gaming community, and really I’m learning, these are just some of my hard lessons learned. Hell, I’m 62 and downloaded Skyrim SE last month, so take my warnings for the Septim they’re worth. 1 One mod at a time, and play it for a real world day or so before adding another. Everyone wants the latest sloots, and brightest colors, but take time to see if the mod you just downloaded is really compatible. Giving it a day will show up any errors or issues you might miss in a quick play through. If you download 4 or 5 at the same time, you’ll have difficulty figuring out which one is causing problems. 2 Read the post about a mod before downloading, lots of info can be gained as to whether it works or not by seeing what others post. This has really helped me weed out mods that I thought were great at first glance, then came to realize that they were going to be a real issue, whether from lack of updates to game crashers. 3 Do you really need 100+ mods to make your game any better? I see people posting about having issues here, and yet they can’t figure out that with so many mods there will be conflict. Choose well and be picky, I’d rather have 20 mods that work well than 75 that lead to CTD, lock up, or conflict to the point the game is no fun. 4 Load order, FNIS, and learning how to download. Just because Vortex makes it easy, doesn’t end the process, quite the opposite, LOOT is great but not perfect, time to watch videos and learn the deeper darker secrets for a great experience. Many videos out there from the likes of Gopher (thanks to those that pointed me to his videos). 5 Hard save before running a mod the first time, if it all goes pear shaped you can uninstall and go back to before it went bad. I’ve made every mistake listed above and learned the hard way, but I’m a fast learner with very little computer experience. Ive still managed to make a nice, quick, game tailored to my taste (as long as my wife never sees it), the big thing is don’t be in too much of a hurry because something new and flashy or with bigger boobs caught your interest. Mods, if I’m out of place with this post, my apologies, but I see so many here making the same mistakes I have, hoping to save someone the grief of crashing and burning, and having to start all over.
  11. Dang, over 120 mods? Im surprised you made it that far before an issue!
  12. Children tend to think in black and white, I don’t think he was irreparably broken, just wanted vengeance for the treatment of the other orphans and himself and in his mind there was only one way to get it. In a land where death is a commodity to be bought and sold, it’s not unthinkable that his focus would be to want her dead, and since he wasn’t capable of doing it himself, calling on mother not only fulfilled his need for revenge but also reaffirmed his beliefs in the old ways.
