  1. Because Bethesda did updates for its f’ing creation club which means it dominoes into every one else having to do updates to keep up. Bethesda does update, Steam then needs to update, SKSE/F4SE then needs to update, then mods need to be updated, it’s a vicious cycle. At least that’s what I was told.
  2. Doing drugs after Cait has been healed is supposed to lower her affinity, same for McCready if you become an addict. Really, violence toward NPCs is not going to work for either of your companions as that’s a plus for them! Try being nice and generous to everyone, they both dislike that as well. Also, with Cait in tow, go to Goodneighbor and flirt/romance Magnolia, that really lit her up in my play through! ETA... Or you could use console commands to reset affinity.
  3. Doubtful that GPS was used, in a true global war scenario, especially one using nukes, one of the first things targeted are satellites, especially those with military ramifications. I'm thinking it’s more a land based system relying on those relay towers (triangulation) and already imbedded info found in the pip boy. additionally, I think the pip boy sends out a signal and “pings” it’s surrounding area, the buildings and locations have embedded tech that the pip boy can read which is why it’s aware of locations as it gets closer, and once close enough identifies the building/ location. Thats also how the PB can store the location of places visited as well as locations of all your power armor. Remember, Vault Tec was heavily involved with military projects, and that would be something they’d want.
  4. In most cases unless you’re starting a new game, it’s better to just disable than delete. Not always but in some instances if you delete a mod it can lead to a lot of problems due to missing script the current game was set up to use.
  5. Sorry for not getting back with you sooner, been stuck out of town without a computer. Anyway, I’d venture a guess you have two or more mods conflicting in the same area, more than likely something that mods internal areas like dungeons. Could be something as simple as a furniture or lighting mod. It’s hard to guess without knowing what mods you have loaded. Your best bet would be to ignore mods that affect NPCS, armor, weapons, and the like, concentrate on those that change inside and localized areas. I know open Cities tends to be rather touchy and can cause all sorts of conflict issues. You can disable (not delete) those mods and see if it changes your ability to run the game, if you can then run the game, start adding a few of the disabled mods back in at a time and play a couple of real world hours, continue doing that till you start having problems again, that’ll tell you what mod(s) are causing the issue. If that doesn’t work, then you’ll have to probably do the same thing with all your mods, and that will be a pain! Also, are you running FNIS, have you checked to make sure none of your mods are from oldrim? Some mods from the old game will work, others are nothing but problems in certain areas. Also, you might want to try a script cleaner like this one... https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5031/?
  6. I have no idea how to mod it, but it sounds a lot like the rifles used in a horror movie called Deep Rising.
  7. Probably a CYA on their part, easier to ignore it than to step into the fur ball that is going to come of this. Really though, they should disable the sale of this until the propriety of the mod can be determined, should it go to litigation they would be culpable for allowing the plagiarism to continue.
  8. Sounds like you might have two or more mods conflicting with that area. Check and see if you have some that are overlapping the same cell area, It’s going to be long and tedious, but if you think you do, disable them and try again. The ones I’ve seen generally are multiple weather and scenery mods that will give troubles in certain areas. Loot is good, but not perfect for load order, you still need to fine tune it.
  9. Shouldn’t, really if you have it and the other DLCs you can get even more mods as a few depend on having them all. With Steam having its sale on right now you can get F4 GOTY for right around $19, might even save you money rather than paying for each DLC separately.
  10. I ended up downloading the NexusAU cheat terminal which allows fast travel to anywhere. I only use it to travel to places I’ve already discovered, and really don’t care for cheat terminals or codes as it sort of defeats the whole purpose of even playing the game, but it was really annoying not being able to just go from point A to point B without a tour of the Commonwealth. Never did figure out why it won’t scroll, probably just one of those glitches that keeps life interesting.
  11. Just started a new run on a Steam download of F4, everything works except I can’t get the Pipboy to scroll while in map mode, if I scroll out it has a very limited range, from Sanctuary to maybe Concord is it. If I’m at Sanctuary, I need to fast travel leapfroging at least twice to be close enough to fast travel to Diamond City. Used to be able to scroll and zoom out enough on the console version ( yeah I know, filthy casual), to be able to fast travel from anywhere on the map to any other place I’d already been. Probably something I haven’t figured out yet on my end. Not game breaking, just aggravating. And yes, I’m still using the vanilla PB, no mods. Any suggestions?
  12. Excellent, glad it’s running right! Heck, the only reason I had an idea as to what was going wrong is that I made the same mistakes too, it’s just a matter of experience (many times very aggravating experience). One last word of caution, when you download future mods, just a couple at a time and play them for a few real world hours. That'll usually give the mods time to show if there are any compatibility issues, plus if you keep a record of your download history it will make it much easier to track down the offending mod. Now go forth and claim your place in history!
  13. Like your avatar Doctor, Wendy from Gravity Falls.
  14. Look into downloading a manager like LOOT, it’s not an end all to assisting with load orders, but it does take a lot of the guesswork and manual shuffling out of the equation. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1918 ETA... One thing is to not download too many mods at one time, that way if you start having issues you can track the offending mod down quickly. I suggest no more than two or three at a time, then play them a few real world hours, that’ll usually give them time to show any problem. And as for easy to install mods, pretty much anything that Vortex does the work will be a easy mod to download, once you get a little more used to it get 7zip (if you haven’t already) for manual mods, get on YouTube, and research. Theres a modder named Gopher that used to post up a lot of tutorials on YT that was pretty much the Gold standard for passing on how to info.
  15. You did use the reference ID and not the base ID to try and resurrect? And it is the correct ref ID? xx01a675 Might have to go back to an old hard save where she’s still available. Either that or she plays one heck of a game of hide and seek!
  16. First thing I see is that you have quite a few mods that overlap cells, most notable are your weather and scenery mods, open cities plus all your city reborn mods plus your weather mods look like they might be an issue. I’d also check that all the mods you have also have all the requirements they call for, also make sure all are for SE edition, some old rim mods will work while others will cause no end of problems. Do you have SKSE, is FNIS active, also looking at your mods you have a heck of a lot of patches running. Last option would be to start at the top and disable a few mods at a time, you’ll eventually find the conflict, unless you can remember what mods you had installed right before the CTD started. And of course that all is under the assumption your video card can handle it all. Pardon if you already know all that, not trying to be condescending, just throwing out some ideas.
  17. Probably a long list, but what mods are you running? there was a mod called keynuker that was known to cause crashes like your having. it was a UI that had specific problems with Nuka World.
  18. Youtube has all your answers, and Gopher is pretty much the gold standard for those answers. For Nexus mod manager... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWDjdimWoMQ using Vortex... Part 1of a 4 part tutorial that will teach you everything (and more) than you’ll probably ever need... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD9xKao_u30
  19. Found this one, no idea if it’ll work on SE... https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74754
  20. 1000+ mods and you’re complaining? What, you just downloaded everything for Skyrim SE for fun? Ha, try 23 in the boondocks with a crap internet connection, I’m so jealous. Good on ya!
  21. “I can’t wait to get out of the GD heat”. Really, Cait? It raining and freezing, must be menopausal.
  22. Load only a few mods at a time, that way you can track down something that is causing conflicts. If you download a bunch at once it makes it very difficult to track down the culprit. Also, before you download a mod, check on its requirements, in some cases you have to download several requirements just to get the mod you originally wanted to work. And last, read what others have posted about the mod, you can gain valuable insight on problems it may have, I’ve had several mods that I liked the looks and sound of until I read all the problems others were having with them.
  23. There was a mod for old rim, it never got ported over though, and of course it was only for female NPCs.
