  1. Good advise... setav most likeley will break something. Modav only changes values already present.
  2. The bugdet is also not the best way to determine the load. For example: I run FO4 with a Geforce 450 GTS. Yeah its below the minimum specs, but at 1600*900 its playable. When it comes to settlements, i can build whatever i want, if i keep an eye on 2 things: The vault-tech items produce heavy load. Especially when i build huge rooms with lots of single-tiles. (I wish there were 4x4 or even bigger tiles). And lighting is a huge framedropper. The vault-light-ceilings are a dont-use for me. Placing lights by hand in a reasonable fashion, and everything works smooth. Long story cutting short: The budget is nonsense. You can "overbuild" settlements with just a dozen "wrong" items, but everything may be fine for your rig, if you know what it can handle.
  3. 1. HD or SSD will only smoothen loading times. If everthing is in Cache, there is absolutely no performance gain from an SSD. It may speed up changing cells, but it will not really boost your FPS. 2. Try http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/? and experiment with the settings, though bilagos recommendet settings are mostly fine. 3. You only have 8GB of RAM, but maybe you can try ENB-Boost for FO4, assigning 1 or 2 GB of RAM to extra video-cache. It helps a lot, especially due to the 3.5GB to 500MB memory-bandwith shortage of the 970GTX (The last 500MB are not connected with full bandwith) 4. As a last resort, try to lower the resolution to 1600x900 (one step below full HD) That reduces workload, even to the CPU. Yes it reduces some quality, but you get more stable FPS. 5. if you dont already know: close Browser etc. in background. They drain from your CPU-Ressources and also reduce your availlable RAM. If you want to play smoothly, you dont need a browser running anyway, do you?
  4. As far as i know Mod Organizer 2 is no longer maintained. So no bugs will be fixed any more. MO2 was also only alpha-state. They develop a whole new nexus mod manager, but there is no user-version yet. Maybe you should try the current NMM.
  5. Have you tried to install a replacer-mod for the vaultsuit? Maybe this fixed the issue. But its also possible that the suit is just a symptom, not the problem itselt.
  6. Tested with new game? If not: you already screwed your savegame with a broken/miss-installed mod. You can uininstall as much as you want, it wont effect a broken savegame.
  7. You stated, you have not installed new mods for a long time, but have you updated some? Many mods need patches for new FO4-Versions, because Bethesda changed a lot. Maybe one of your mods is really outdated. You patched the game, but your mods are made for much older game versions.
  8. If you use a SSD, skip part 1. 1. defragment your harddrive (the engine goes into stall, if something wont come in time) 2. Check your temperatures (CPU, GPU, Mainboard, and even harddrive) 3. Check for drivers 4. Check for Updates for FO4 If its none of the above, please provide a list of your installed mods.
  9. Crash at NukaWorld transit is know, but should be already fixed.. is your game up to date?
  10. 2 possible problems here: 1. True storms. It´s known to cause so many bugs, so try without it 2. something the enemy drops on death, like clothing, armor, weapons you modded. Because they dont drop all the same stuff, its not causing CTD all the time.
  11. Okay, i would say: He´s/She´s a "pro" who knows everything. But He/She can´t figure out, how to cancel the stutter. And everyone else is too dump to comprehend. So, i suggest, to leave this user with the problems alone, because it can´t helped, while everyone else can solve the problems. Try tetris, or minesweeper instead. That games should run smoothly with your current hardware setting.
  12. Have you tried the Config tool http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/? with recommended settings? It fixes most of the issues with the engine. And please dont tell me, you´re a "pro" with ini-files, because thats mostly bullshit. The tool adresses so many settings not even listed in any file. I run FO4 on 1600x900 with high settings on an ancient Nvidia 450 GTS with smooth 30fps, thanks to bilagos config-tool, and all the work he´s putting into it. And yeah, some settings sound really absurd, because normal thinking would say, thats decreasing performance, but its increasing instead.
  13. Even if it sounds crazy: (unless you have an SSD): Defragment your harddrive(s) F04 is VERY picky when it comes to loading from harddrive. As you have so much stuff from mods, there is a huge bunch to process. If files are scattered all over your disk, the engine will stall eventually.
  14. Fo4 defaults are awful. Try http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/? and set everything to recommended settings, and maybe add ENB-Boost for more video-ram, because Fo4 can exhaust a 4GB video card really quick. The config tool will get rid of the most issues. Give it a try.
  15. Run NMM as Admin, make sure, you´ve changed the ini´s right, and that the plugins.txt is writeable to NMM. If you miss only one of this, you get CTDs because the game gets wrong parameters from the start.
  16. You should be able to build with materials from your inventory. If thats not working, there is another issue with that.
  17. Do you use any kind of mod, changing animations? For example, power armor entering speed? Thats know to kill the animation-system sometimes, leaving the started animation in a stall, and so you are no longer able to use any other animation, including using weapons and so on.
  18. Maicol, i dont know, if its fixing your problems, so you should try, because its possible. If its the problem, reactivate one at a time. Its sure possible, you identify one mod, that conflicts with your setup. Then you can do your homework and identify the collission, or dont use this mod. Yes there are setups, that cant run different mods, for what reason whatsoever. It will cost a huge amount of work and time to identify the problem.
  19. I run F04 with a GTS 450 on 1600x900 at 30fps and loads of mods. You should optimize the game with http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/102/? , and use enb-boost, and FO4 should run well. Not at peak performance, not with 4k-graphic-mods, but, within those limits, very well.
  20. 1. ignore that bipolarone-guy... i dont know his problem, but he gets upset all the time, when i see a post from him... so dont panic, it seems its his normal "behavior"... dont know why. 2. have you installed DX9, 10, 11? Yeah i know, i know, Win10 comes with DX12 and that should cover every DX from the last 500 Decades and so on. But NO, it does not. DX is always only 90% compatible. And its always a good advice to install the DX-Setup, that comes with the game, or the version its made for. Something changes everytime, Microsoft builds a new version, and the always screw something up. And the problem always results in stutter, crashes, video-glitches. So, if you have´nt done it already, its worth a shot.
  21. You know, you could install mods form hand, yes? You know, there are 2-3 other mod-managers out there? You know, there is a running beta of Mod-Organizer 2 (https://github.com/TanninOne/modorganizer/releases) which i use for example? And yes NMM is a crappy piece of Software, and i´m glad, Tannin42 will geht this s#*! to a usable stage.
  22. I wasn´t snippy ^^ The problem is, so many people come here to the help-forums, screaming BUG!!!!! but provide nothing to help them. We all need information, information and.... information, to narrow down the problem. There are so many possible problems within bethesdas games, related to the engine, to known bugs, to mods... without every info availlable, all advise is useless. I could think of Realistic Death Physics for example, because it changes animation related behavior. And yes, the game often thinks someone is injured or even death, while standing perfectly healthy beside you... Another issue could be true storms, because its a really heavy mod, and if the engine is busy with that, some other, minor features, could be delayed or even skipped. And every UI-Mod can screw up your game very fast. Try to run FO4 without these.
  23. You both have a problem generally related to animations. Somthings is getting stuck, and if that happens, no other animation can run the way it should. And then, the action will be abborted, due to error. Try removing mods related to animations, like smoking, or lowered weapons.
  24. Guy comes in, arms waving "Its broken! Fix it", runs out.... Okay... have you used loot? Because thats a known issue with loadorder. And then you could post a list of your Mods, because we are no fortune-tellers.
