  1. this happened to me when i tried an idles mod. Removed the mod and everything was fine.
  2. I hosted a NWN module for over 6 years and as far as I know, no one can access it anymore since Gamespy dropped NWN. Or at least that is what I think happened. I just found these forums and thought I'd ask. Is there a way to still host a game server running NWN? I'd love to get the game on-line again. If anyone remembers my server was Vandel Land running 8 Dragons. Thanks
  3. With how much info you provided, we will be right on it. What mods? "aren't working" is very general, need specifics
  4. I had a similar issue where half the river (water) was missing the half was there, as i rotated the view it would change. I did nothing to fix it and over time it went away. So maybe, it just takes some in game time to resolve it's self.
  5. If you used nmm to install the mods, you can via nmm remove the mods from the game with out deleting them and there for having to down load them again when you want to put them back in. If you used nmm, open the program and look at all the mods. when you click on each one on the right side it will open a mini view of what is posted and nexus about the mod. Read that and look for any incompatibilities and compare that with the other mods you want. If you find an incompatibility between 2 mods, you will have to choose which one you would prefer. When installing mods via nmm, it will let you know if you are overwriting a file and from what mod the file is from. For example, I have a couple face change mods, luscious lips wants to override pretty face's file for the lips. The pop up lets me decide yes, just this mod (meaning pretty face) everything (meaning any mod and any file regardless what it is) or just this file or no to the same things. Because I want to see what all it will overwrite I never select everything (sorry if I don't have the right words for the message that pops up but you will understand when you get there). This way you can pick and choose what exactly you want from this mod, I.E. yes over write pretty face's lip file but wait a minute, why are you overwriting bla bla bla? Load your game, make a "new saved game" and exit the game. Now start NMM and remove (not delete) all your mods. choose which ones are most important to you and load them first working your way down to not so important. That way as you work down your list is it easier for you to choose what you really want to install from this mod if the overwrite message comes up. Don't forget to run BOSS when done. Hope this helps, I'm new to the game also After typing all this I saw your "note" so no mods were installed via nmm. What I would do in that case is remove all the files you put in the skyrim directory. If you don't remember, reinstall the game. on the nexus web site, across the top it says "install NMM (0.45.7)" install that or click the link I included. Now when you find a mod at nexus you want, a little below the pictures of the mod select "files", on that page you will see green bars with "download with manager" written on them. By clicking that it will start NMM on your computer, download the file, and put it in the right section. The mod is not installed yet so follow this. click the link to the left and it will bring you to "climates of Tamriel". You need to read through the description and pay particular attention to anything that tells you, you need mod abc, and xyz for this mod to work, also pay attention to incompatible mods. Sorry "climates of Tamriel" is a bad example because it does not list any. continuing on, select "Files". You will see 3 sections (main files, optional files and old versions). In the "main files" there are 2 available, only one has the "download with manager" available, since they are the same version, and the same date, click the download with manager (only if you want this mod, I'm only using this to show you how to download from Nexus). If NMM on your computer was not running, it will open the program and start downloading. When it is done it will put it in the right section, but where? Environmental, climates, patches etc. scroll up on the web page and underneath where you see " Climates of Tamriel - Weather - Lighting - Audio by JJC71" it says "Skyrim >> overhauls". Now we know NMM will put it in the "overhauls" section. Expand the overhauls section and there it is (you will also note, NMM also puts a blue number to the right of the section that has new mods just downloaded), but it is still not installed. Select it and on the left click the second from top button, it looks like a blue puzzle piece with a red arrow pointing to the left. After installing if you are using SKSE, what I do is start skyrim normally (none skse), on the intro screen select data files, close skyrim, run BOSS, then start skyrim via SKSE. That's it, your mod is installed and easily removed if needed.
  6. i recently purchased a new computer and got an error about a missing dll after installing skyrim. I don't remember the exact path so you will have to read the error message but it is somewhere in your "my documents". I just copied the dll from the other location you mentioned and pasted where the error said it was missing and that worked for me. I am unaware nmm is down, if this is the case what I would do is download the mod you want, start nmm and import it. that way the nmm program on your computer is still managing the mod.
  7. The problem is the built in graphics. They are no good for gaming and with how much a graphic hog Skyrim is, you will never get it to work on a built in graphics. First they do not have a processor so they are sharing the motherboards processor, second they have no memory so you are again robbing resources from the processor. I know you said you can't afford a new one at this time but that is the problem you are having.
  8. it all depends on how much money you got to put into it. Most important component for gaming is the video. Do research as to what video card you want and how much memory. I'm finding reviews don't take into consideration "this video card comes in 1 gig, 2 gig and 4 gig configuration". Is the video card SLI or crossfireX. I read Skyrim is NOT capable of taking advantage of multiple video cards but that does not limit you from getting a killer card and doubling it now or at a later date for other games. What motherboards can be used with that video card? You will see by selecting the video card first your options for the other components have shrunk. Now that you have limited options for motherboards, What processor? Your options have shrunk even further, possibly to only one and your choices were made for you. now all you need is memory, hard drives and a case. When selecting a case, ensure the power supply is the right type for your motherboard and has enough power and the right connectors for the video card, X 2 if your putting 2 video cards in. If you go any other direction. I.E picking the best motherboard first or the fastest newest processor, when you get to your options of video cards that will work with what you selected, I think you will be disappointed. When you determine what motherboard you want, go to places like tigerdirect.com and see if they have any cases (bare bone or what ever) with that motherboard as a bundle. Do your research and read reviews from trusted sites (not social media like youtube, facebook etc) reviews from purchasers are helpful but really only to the point of finding out return policy and technical support, as far as actual performance and such, can they be trusted? What do they have to loose? PCmagazine and things like that, now they have something worth loosing, they may be paid to write a good review on X product but it is more reliable then the review written by Joe E who purchased it and thinks it's the cats meow. Also don't be fooled by model numbers, I've found companies repackage and rename their products to look like it is newer but in fact they are just trying to make room in their warehouse, reviews will bring this info out. I.E. I found some video cards (I'm making numbers up here) with a model number of 901fx that has 4 gig of memory. OOO, sounds good? model number in the 900 area and they used FX so it's got to be good. Wrong, when you get to the reviews you find the memory speed was old school in 2004 and the processor is not much better. A 1 gig video card with faster memory will blow it away. If you buy the baddest newest thing out there, before you can even get to the check out it will no longer be the baddest newest thing. So don't worry if you have to make a few compromises to accommodate the video card you selected. Hope this helps
  9. Once you download the file, leave it alone and have NMM import it. That way if you ever want/need to remove that mod it only takes one button. To import a mod, Open NMM, select the "Mods" tab. Click the top button on the left, if you mouse over it it will say "Add mod from file".
  10. Are you using any character editor mods? I'm using Enhanced Character Editor I tried a different one (can't find it right now) and noticed a button that changed the amount of spaces the name can be and showed the sample as boxes. If your using something other then the one I linked, I'd recommend uninstall it (not delete, just in case this doesn't work) and install the one i linked.
  11. If others are having this problem I think I fixed it. I noticed my race was Nord, it was supposed to be Breton. I installed the mod that prevents showracemenu from corrupting your skill levels, changed my race back to Breton and the war paint is no longer there upon reload of the saved game.
  12. after using showracemenu everything is fine till I reload the game. My character now has warpaint on her face but it is not one of the select able war paints. As soon as I open "showracemenu" the war paint goes away till I load the game again. How do I get rid of this permanently? Please help and thanks in advance. Attached is an image of the war paint. http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/g475/VandelsHandles/screenshot.jpg
