  1. I use a Wabbajack modlist that creates a "Stock Game" files Directory APART from the Base Steam Install. That way your new SE Install remains "Clean" ( and Apart from MO2's files and setup.) And an uninstall of your mod list does nothing to change your Steam install, at all. BTW the modlist I'm using has over 1200 mods installed. I suspect that you may need to add "Browse" buttons for people who use such means, so they can navigate to the appropriate Disc, Folder and game install. (I tried to load the Mods, but the Stock Install has only the Game's Vanilla files, not even the CC DLCs.) Maybe even a MO2 extension like the Vortex one would be useful at some point. In my case D:/Licentia/ which is where ALL files for the SE install are. (D: is my 2 TB SSD for games.) /Licentia contains the Stock Game folder and all mods, downloads, Profiles, Utilites and MO2 as well. PS: Steam is also installed on D drive. No issues ever. BTW: This is going to be a GREAT assist to not just Modders, But Those who want to check mods for compatible locations. A Very Good idea it IS!!. Congratulations!
  2. First off, I do not post in the Forums here very often so if this is redundant and has been brought up elsewhere, I aopogise for wasting your time. But This occurred to me shortly after the details of AE were announced, and I have been thinking about it ever since. I am not a particularly skilled mod creator, nor am I a script wiz=-kiddie, but it seems to me that Bethesda and Toddy "IT JUST WORKS" Howard are trying to kill off user made modding, by making mod creators relearn the same (BUT Different) stuff all over again. It took me 18 months to learn the ins and outs of SE after having modding LE for 5 or 6 years, and now I find they want to do that same S**t all over again? Thanks But I will keep SE for now. (and refuse to update it.) If I do get AE it will be a buy on a new Steam accounts deal. Especially as I just spent about a week installing 3 different Wabbajack modlists! -I have arealife job, y'know!) Which brings me to the point: What do others think of the Admins CREATING a NEW "Skyrim Anniversary Edition" Game Topic in the Nexus, so there will be game options for Skyrim LE, Skyrim SE (As at present) and (New) Skyrim AE? Because folding AE into the SE topics is only going to "muddy the waters" significantly. God knows, there are still LE/SE mod entries in both of those options where someone has produced both versions and posted in one (or other option) , making finding it a bit of a chore. (Especially if you cannot recall the Mod's effing name!) My 2c worth.... Brett 41
  3. ...And so, the Nexus has Grown again.. Move over Farce-Kook and Twatter... The NexMonster is rising!!!!! Bwah! hah! Hah! B
  4. Clearly you are ascribing the developers with God-Like prescience to find even quite obvious bugs... I used to program many moons ago. You tend to get a little transfixed by getting the damn thing to work in the first place on your own rig, its more problematic to get it to work on an entirely different set of hardware/drivers combos... What may seem an Glaringly Obvious Bug to you, on your rig, may not even be an issue on theirs.... That is what Beta testing is for.... RTFM...NMM is still in Beta, although I suspect we are closing on the "official" release, now. B
  5. All of which is WHY I keep coming back to the NEXI sites for gaming. Fortunately I haven't been caught out - Been at Work or asleep for past 60 hours - No time to game. Other sites would have waited until the complaints reached Rock Concert Decibels (looking at Steam/EA here!) )before acting, BUT the Nexus checks it out as soon as they hear a whisper... Well done, and I hope not too many were snagged by these B'Stards! B
  6. I second the motion for " bathing beauties" - Its BIG, and its beautiful to boot, and there is a BAR. Plus it has a Pool and its close to Whiterun. Down in the basement is a great workshop . As for Adult...who doesn't need a bath, after a hard day slaughtering dragons?
  7. First up: The SSD. I use a 120Gb SSd on my PC ..but ONLY for the System (windows 7) disc. I do NOT install any games on the System disc. By leaving the SSD free for the OS I find that having games installed on HDD seperately has a few advantages. 1/ The game starts and runs smoothly. 2/ Any expansions/mods have PLENTY of disc space to install into 3/ All games that you install to HDD are not covered by/subject to DEP nagging. (Because they are not in your OS directories or on the System disc.) Believe me, you will NEVER want to go back to a Non-SSD OS again! As For Graphics cards ram etc... That is entirely up to your wallet/budget and your own preferences. I happen to like Nvidia based cards, other prefer AMD cards or other brands. As long as the chosen card(s) meets the minimum system requirements (or handily exceeds them) its entirely up to you, and the same with Audio and RAM options. Good rule of thumb: the More grunt/size you can stick in there , the better in the long run.
  8. If all other suggestions fail...you need to remove and reinstall the DLC and mods. It looks like something has possibly corrupted your data folder(s) but with the contents of the game itself not affected. Yes, I know its a right PITA but a complete reinstall (including th game itself) will cure a lot of little things as well. Follow Gophers videos on UTUBE to get a great base install (with SKSE, NMM, TESVEdit, And MCM), and add all extra mods to that base. Time spent doing it right from the get go will save an awful lot of hairl-pulling and screaming frustrationlater...ask me how I know...] [Edit] I notice that you mention BOTH NMM and the Skrim Mod Manager...you can only use one OR other, not Both with Skyrim. I would stick with Nexus Mod Manager for the present. Uninstall the Syrim MM and use NMM to uninstall and reistall the Mods etc ( BEFORE going to the trouble of a Reinstall of all). If that option fails to work, then a full reinstall may be your answer.
  9. I also generally recommend AFT and Vilja but...I find Vilja's constant chatter...really irritating, and telling her to stick it where the sun does not shine (ie: Solstheim!) only seems to work for about a game hour, then she's at it again. So I make her take off her armour and hang back where I can barely hear her. That works until the next reload.... BTW Vilja 'likes' to tease Lydia and often listening in is a Hoot, especially when she sings her little 'Lydia' Ditty 1..2..3.. There once was a Housecarl named Lydia the Fair....." B
  10. Again, I can't emphasise this enough - Gopher has videos on UTUBE regarding both BOSS, SKSE and NMM. I thought i knew what i was doing, but watching them was a GIANT help in understanding what I was doing. Truckit- just subscribe and watch .... and...you're welcome. [Edit} One other thing, when using NMM be wary of using any Steam Workshop mods - NMM cannot detect their install, only the ESP/ESMs. BOSS will order them OK, but if they conflict.... If you have to use Workshop mods.. Try to add Steam mods that are ADDINs, not any that modify game files. (eg New weapons/armour not retextures...) And if they cause problems remove and unsubscribe them ASAP.
  11. One other note: I also have a 1gb video card and somethime I get warnings of low memory. (i have 6 Gb of Ram for the PC and a quadcore athlon CPU) I checked and it seems to be a problem with the very large hi res texture (4096x4096) mods. I reduce them to 2048x2048 and its now very unusual to get that warning. Looks like a 1.5 or 2gb card is in my future upgrade, or even 2 of them....
  12. Several ways to get things to work better. Go back to the mods Readmes and check if any have conflicts with OTHER MODS- you may have to choose between one OR the other, not both. IF that is all OK then.... 1. use BOSS to order the load order better. 2. Install SKSE as some mods probably need it. 3. If all else fails, MAKE a LIST of your Mods and make sure you have those archive files stored THEN Uninstall EVERYTHING, including Skyrim (Do keep your save games!) Reinstall Skyrim only. NOW install BOSS, SKSE and NMM (Nexus Mod Manager). USE NMM to install All those mods and order them with BOSS. Launch the Game thru NMM using the SKSE launch option. It should now work better at least. This all may take a while, but the results should improve the game. ADDITIONAL: Be wary if you use Steam Workshop as it's install method differs from NMM's. (Hence NMM may in some cases be unable to recognise a Steam mod or may even conflict with it. I only use 1 or 2 Steam mods, ususally weapons. (less conflict as are addins.) HTH, Brett
  13. @Roach75: If you want to use ENB's you MUST read and understand the installtion instructions. Print em out and read and refer to them while installing. It IS safe - if installed exactly to spec. BOSS is "Better Oblivion Sorting Software" but is applicable and usable to any of the Bethesda engined games - Fallout3, New vegas, Oblivion, Morrowind & SKYRIM. It is a tool for sorting out your load order AND it assists in finding 'dirty' edits in mods. (Take a look at Gophers vids on Utube - he has a video tutorial on BOSS and another on TESVEdit (which is how you sort out the 'dirty' edits Bertween BOSS and TESVEdit, you should resolve 95% of any mod issues BOSS is updated very frequently, almost daily sometimes so make sure you set it to update on launch. The Nexus Mod Manager is also a must- it utilises BOSS in sorting so make sure you have BOSS installed, and it will also use SKSE to lauch the program -Make sure you install that too. SKSE- SKYRIM SCRIPT EXTENDER - provides extra functionality for many complex mods - some Like SKYUI require it. Again, when installing make sure you READ and UNderstand exactly how to to it. Good luck and happy modding. (And remember RTFM for every MOD you load in....) B
