  1. I would actually like to see some monsters from Fallout New Vegas make their way into Skyrim (Death Claws) - I'm sure it wouldn't be immensely difficult to make a port for it; even though its on a different engine. Skyrim being on the Creation Engine, and New Vegas being on the Immersion Engine (can't remember its other name) - Correct me if i'm wrong Then again, there would be *a lot* of copyrighting issues from that. Even if the intention isn't Piracy, sadly a DIRECT port of it would be. As for the main topic at hand.. Near impossible; It would not be lore friendly - New Vegas being set in the Year 2270 ish. While Skyrim is Medieval-ish, fantasy etc. Jav'
  2. Honestly, I'd really like to see this. I did make a request for Imperius' armor from the same game.. Imperius looks awesome. But I'd also like Tyrael's set too. :P http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/698004-armor-of-imperius/ I approve this idea! Jav'
  3. Bit of both for me. I have got Skyrim for the 360 - With the menus and everything, it seems that they went to cater to the Console, rather than the PC or infact both. The PC - The Menus are extremely clunky, item sorting is beyond a joke, character creation menu has regular delays in switching options; often becoming unresponsive. In truth, I can see why they are edging closer and closer to console gaming. Like everyone else; minus the likes of Valve and Blizzard. More profit to be made on consoles, yet consoles are the ones that seem to be holding back the "Next-Gen" graphics.
  4. In that case, the fix would be within the Vampire Mod. You will need to make changes to that yourself (But obviously not repost it)
  5. You will need to modify it in the levelers tower (Ingame) - I left the speed thing along. As it would likely break something. - I'd suggest you load a point where you didn't use it. Or try and see if it gives you an option to reduce your speed back to Normal.
  6. Hi all. Would there be an amazing Modder out there who'd be willing to do Imperius' Armor from Diablo? I've compiled several screenshots from Cutscenes within Diablo (Which I will provide links to those cutscenes too) - I've tried to capture as much detail as possible; but the shot quality isn't all "Fantastic" due to having to do it with Fraps. Note: I've provided some links aswell - As for some reason, I can't make them appear on the board due to some restrictions that are in place. Some of the best Cinematics in Gaming - MAJOR SPOILERS WITHIN! 1: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2cfxi6s&s=6 2: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2uj790m&s=6 3: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=25z1eh3&s=6 4: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2v9ybko&s=6 5: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=154hsvd&s=6 If anyone is able to create this mod - With or Without the Wings, or with or without the Halo.. That would be amazing. Male and/or Female Versions :) Thanks! Jav'
  7. Hi all. I've been wondering - I've started up characters on Skyrim, and found that the UI is... very unresponsive most of the time. The scrolling arrows tend not to work very well; If you have a high number of hairs for example, and texture pieces such as lips, noses, skin tones, War Paint and colours etc. It can be a little messy when trying to get the ones you want. - We all know the Original Skyrim options we were given were small at best. So my question is this (if you haven't guessed already): Has any mod been created for the Character Creation UI? To act similar to how the Oblivion character creation was - Giving scroll mentions with names. I.E. Male - Female Hair 1, Hair 2, Hair 3 I've been looking around on the Nexus, and far between, and have been unable to find. I do have SkyUI installed as a whole (because it just looks better than default imo) - But sadly, that doesn't cover the character creation menu. As for the standard vanilla menu. I'm not sure whether it's just my rig playing funny beggars. 8gb Corsair Vengeance RAM AMD FX8120 (8 Core) 3.1ghz Nvidia GeForce GTX560ti Windows 7 Home Edition SP1 (64bit) Thanks Javalin.
  8. I am not sure that making a post of apology would be the best way of going about it. Whatever your actions, and whatever had been said as a result. Will surely be forgotten about. I've been a part of this community for long enough to understand it. Where you may feel that, making a topic is the right thing; it would also, sadly let the people who "may have been upset" if you want, to pursue some kind of Personal Vendetta.
  9. On my mothers side of the family - My Grandfather has a severe case of Angina, aswell as suffered from several Heart Attacks over the last 5 Years or so. I have also been in a situation where I've maybe skipped a heartbeat - followed by a really sharp pain going through my chest - I've never been in a situation where my heartrate has irregularly sped up. My brother recently has been stopping breathing when he has slept - If you're suffering from this, I'd strongly suggest a doctors appointment; who will probably refer you to a Sleep Clinic, or Cardiac Hospital.
  10. The whole idea is meant to be aimed at stopping Pirates, when really they will only be killing legitimate websites, and businesses - Simply because Pirates can just move it somewhere else where Copyright/Piracy laws are not as strict. There will be no appeals process for it Sadly, this website will be caught in the crossfire too. Pirates are bad, but this will just kill internet freedom. Massive websites like: Google, Amazon, AskJeeves, E-bay, Wikipedia and Yahoo - Other less-known e-commerce and/or Search Engines. Gaming Communities: The Nexus Forums, The Daily Blink, Twitchtv, Tankspot, Gamebreakertv, MMOChampion - Now unless they are not directly run by the organisations that own the games, then that company can jump on the bandwagon and call up that Attorney guy with a complaint, and will immediately shut it down because "They ain't making money" or "Because they felt like it" - The only way an appeal could go through, is by going to court - Which would cost a lot anyway, plus a lot of lost internet traffic. SOPA and PIPA are other things probably somewhat related to this topic. http://americancensorship.org/ <--- Sign petition too, even if you are outside of the US Like I said, I am no lover of Pirates and I do frown upon it - But you can't stop them either.
  11. I normally play Assassin style characters in previous games. Including Fallout too. For this reason, i mainly run around in Third Person. As I can get a better look at my surroundings. Also, the admiration of looks of gear etc. For combat, unless its ranged such as magic or bow I'll go into first person.
  12. You'll have to look in your Fallout 3 folder - Go into the Textures and Meshes. Then copy them from there, to FONV folder. Go into the construction set and apply them to the game. There isn't any other things that would be good to have from FO3 - Since NV did a lot of improvements, more items and such. The only thing that didnt make it over from what i remember is the Enclave Hellfire.
  13. Theres something about the expansions/DLC where it doesn't utilise the use of cores on your CPU. Go into the Fallout NV Launcher and then disable Vertical Sync. Theres also a command line in the Fallout_Default.ini you can put in also: iNumHWThreads=x (Replace the X with the number of cores you have on your CPU) and add it to the [GENERAL] section of the Fallout_Default.ini file. I ain't taking responsibility if the solutions I suggest to you didn't work at all, or made things worse. It worked for me. Crashes are much less frequent unless i'm using EVE, and stutters/framerate drops are practically non-existant. Credits go to this: http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/43594/t1591200-pc-tweak-guide/ Hope this helps. Jav'
  14. Yeah it certainly looks like that was the big issue. Disabiling EVE hasn't completely fixed it. The game is now a little more stable. Would love a workaround for it :(
  15. Hi all. My game is REALLY suffering with instability. I'm not sure what the reason is for it. I knew this game, and others on the engine are very unstable. Probably due to the game engine being terribad. With performance issues being placed aside - (I've no problem with the performance itself, it runs smoothly on Medium-High settings) just the crashes.. Here is my listing: (Linked all mods) 00. FalloutNV.esm 01. HonestHearts.esm 02. DeadMoney.esm 03. MikotoBeauty.esm 04. EVE FNV.esp 05. PipboyGloveRemover.esp 06. Holster.esp 07. MikotoBeauty.esp 08. FacePresets1.esp 09. Crib.esp (Private Mod, that tweaks companions, added own house outside the Major Factions etc - Makes NO changes to the game files) The largest of those mods is probably EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements. But surely that's not enough to make the game massively unstable? There was a few bitty mods in between the load order, but I removed them just incase they were also causing an instability issue - I DID NOT USE THOSE MODS! I see people using 50+ mods, and don't seem to be having the instability. I mentioned in a post on a different topic: The game is like playing with a double edged sword, if you fix the performance/stutter issues, you give the game a reason to crash at the most inconvenient time. If I avoid combat entirely, it seems to be ok. (For roughly 1 hour gameplay. Which I can live with - then it'll crash) I ruled out all kinds of hardware related issues when I used this performance fix guide. But when people were having issues with the stutter and performance despite being several generations ahead of the game on video/gfx cards, and even I had no problem running Fallout 3 (Despite that being a pain in the backside from time to time) Now it's possibly the Operating System, being only Vista 32bit. (I fear change - and I can't stand how Windows 7 looks) Although I've already said that hardware is not an issue - Heres the specs of this average system CPU: IntelĀ® Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40Ghz RAM: 3GB DDR2 Direct X: 10 OS: Vista Home Premium 32bit GFX: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS (512) (Pretty dire, now pretty low-end) Anymore help would be appreciated. This is a REAL headache :( Cheers. Javalin P.S. Dark0ne - you picked the PERFECT time to eat on my fear of change. Can't wait to see what the Nexus looks like after the changes. Looks fresh so far. Although I was confused at first. Edit: I think it's EVE that has the problem. 2 High Explosive rocks = Crash. I love this mod :(
  16. I have the same issue It's mainly when theres a lot of NPCs in the area, or I'm looking at them. Absolute nightmare. I don't get this issue with FO3. With less than 1/4 of active mods in FNV. Game Booster, Game Defrags, Low-ish settings do nothing. Stutter remover isn't doing anything either. ugh -- EDIT: A guide on one of the websites from the web search has fixed EVERYTHING for me. The horrible stutter issues are gone. It's just a shame that it requires a lot of things to make it run properly, its almost like the devs did ZERO testing. http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/43594/t1591200-pc-tweak-guide/ Follow the guide to it's last letter. Theres a post a little further down about a Java-based dll generator that creates a dll based off your video card. It's excellent. Combining this with GameBooster aswell has drastically increased it's performance. But it's still relatively unstable as a game. Worst game engine ever. The game itself is a double-edged sword. You make the game more viable to crashes by increasing its performance (Removing the Stutter) I can't even fire a High Explosive missile without causing it to crash. Now if I avoid combat completely, that's when it's very stable. Now wheres the fix for the combat? -.-
  17. I got some error late last night about some driver/database error that normally fixes by itself. That's the only issue I've spotted otherwise. I'd check with the admins, but it seems to be fine now.
  18. Making it illegal "Recreating" the work from scratch is fine. At least according to copyright laws :P
  19. Isn't it something to do with the naming rights or something? As to why they avoided using the real names for weapons. A similar thing occured with Konami when they created Pro Evolution Soccer. It looks like Bethesda and Obsidian did the same. Avoided using Real Names for weapons, just called them a generic name. As for why there isn't a Desert Eagle? I don't know. The weapon called "Maria" is the closest representation of a Desert Eagle, but that's it.
  20. Fallout Mod Manager makes this easier than doing it manually. I'm not sure about the file path that it's given if you install the game via the disc. If you haven't downloaded: I'd suggest you go to this link and download it, then install: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36901 This also works for Fallout 3. Since the majority of mods are placed in a 7z archive for compression. You can directly install them from Fallout Mod Manager. Extract to:- Wherever your New Vegas folder is located. This automatically sets that to default, so theres no need to touch this again. Add FOMOD:- You just click this when you've downloaded a mod Activate/Deactivate:- Installs/Uninstalls the mod As for manual mod installation: You'll want to take the Textures, Meshes and ESM/ESP files. Unless they have config files with them. Then you take all files and move them into the New Vegas data folder.
  21. I'm pretty sure something like this to get any kind of attorney involved, it would have to be exact conversion. Think of it like converting a jpg photo and making it into a png. It's only a simple file conversion, even though the image rights still belong to the person who took the photo. Recreating the ENTIRE game world itself is a completely different. Theres nothing about remaking something that has already been created. Everyone remembers the Morroblivion project for Oblivion. That was apparently scrapped due to copyright infringement.. As for the request at hand - I'm always up to see original addons/expansions/mods made for any game from Bethesda, because that's what makes them unique as a game developer - They give away their game creation tools for free with the game so people can modify it as and when they please (Which is why they've always sold extremely well on the PC compared to console) But as for reacting a game world without stepping through a portal, or sitting in VR sim machine like Tranquility Lane. Would be near impossible. Especially without pissing off the devs :P Excuse the French! :| Jav'
  22. You seem rather aggressive. It's down to personal preference. People were just listing the reasons why they think it's better. Like myself. Bethesda had the thing for making you feel like an idiot. I got to the end of Dead Money - I chose not to read the messages on the computer, and ended up clicking both. Then Game Over. When i did read it. I felt stupid :P cos bethesda taught me to act stupid
  23. Those 4 mods you mentioned should've been included in Fallout 3. I highly doubt Obsidian used DIRECT copies of the mods as what the post suggests with "Importing Mods" - Inspiration, and creating versions of their own. EVE - I didn't download that myself. Maybe it could've done with changes like that. I suppose this wasn't included to keep the system requirements down. RTS - If you're refering to RTS as a game type. Then since RTS' are randomly generated maps, it wouldn't require DLC. If this isn't what you are refering to. Please elaborate :( Sprinting - It would almost make the game like Call of Duty. If the game world was bigger than Oblivion, I'd change my mind. Huge Cap Inflation - The inflation was because caps were considerably easier to come by in New Vegas. Where in Fallout 3, most tend not to get anywhere near 10k Caps. If there wasn't the inflation, where would you get all your weapon mods, ammo etc. Smaller World - I completely agree. But the fact that there are barriers on the majority of hills to stop you taking shortcuts kind of makes up for that. Fast Travel doesn't really do the game any favours, and probably never has. Even on Oblivion, it did no favours whatsoever. All in all, Obsidian did look at mods for inspiration. Where Bethesda had time and time again, failed. Probably the reason that New Vegas doesn't require many mods to make it the Perfect Game. Fallout 3 requires an infinite amount of mods, but still becomes boring quickly aswell as becoming more and more unstable. (Double Edged Sword as it were) New Vegas' main problem, is the lack of "Original" Mods. Just something that hasn't been done before. I've not seen any New Vegas mods that i've never seen before.
  24. Fallout New Vegas had much much much more in it. Which is probably the reason why people say the game is "Buggy as Hell" and "Even more unstable". Note: This post is quite opinionated, and is by no means meant to tell people that they made a poor choice in deciding which is better. Both have things the other game doesn't have. I've played both games, and I've played New Vegas for less than a week and I already found it about 10x better than Fallout 3. Heres the comparisons: I see a lot of people bashing each other in this topic. I thought I might aswell throw in my opinion. After all, this is a debate :P LONG POST AHEAD! Fallout 3: Lack of Customisability - Age, Weapons, Armor, Ammunition types etc. Levels (20, 30 with Broken Steel) - Age is due to the Story, Lone Wanderer being 19 Years Old) Lack of Factions - Brotherhood of Steel, the Enclave, Regulators, Slavers (City Factions don't count) - more specifically, the ones you have to do with and can join Content Skipping - You can ignore the first few quests on the main line: Megaton - GNR - Rivet City - Jefferson Memorial, and just head straight to Vault 112 Status - Good or Evil. You pick the Good option or the Evil option. Of which has NOTHING to do with how the other factions react to you. Being somewhere in between is pointless. Difficulty - Has a lack of Realism. Unnamed Weapons - Taking more than 300 Assault Rifle bullets to bring down an Scorpion (With Psycho and 100 Guns) Lack of Quests - 11 Main Quests, 3 Tutorial Quests, 17 Optional Side Quests Pointless Items - Water/Food. Sure, it restores a very small amount of Health, but otherwise holds no other purpose. Maybe a bit of Karma gain at the best. More Freedom - More Freedom to move accross the Wasteland. Until you get to the DC Ruins, then the "Fun" Begins! Voice Acting - Not much of an Improvement from Oblivion, due to the lack of characters, I didn't manage to find NPCs talking to each other about an item they bought from a shop that is owned by themselves. Boring DLC's: (At least after the first playthrough) Anchorage: Had NOTHING to do with the Main Plotline, apart from you meet the General who gave Braun a Failsafe Chinese Invasion Program for Tranquility Lane. (No Mentions of it) The Pitt: Had some backstory of the Pitt's Leader, and how he used to be in the Brotherhood of Steel - When they invaded the area in search of Tech. Wasn't bad.. But not good either. Point Lookout: Reminds me of "The Hills have Eyes" - The mutated Swamp Folk that do massive amounts of damage, while taking very little themselves. No story, or reason why its there. Broken Steel: Short, wasn't worth the money. Zeta: Pointless. Cheaper than the others, but otherwise not worth playing through more than once. Not to mention the glitches. Fallout: New Vegas: Quests - 3 Tutorial Quests, 2 Main Quests Faction Quests - 7 Yes Man Quests, 3 Mr House, 6 NCR, 4 Caesars Legion Side Quests - 73+ (Grand Total, A few being Faction Dependant) - Side quests here total more than Fallout 3, DLC and the unmarked quests combined. It's a shame. Voice Acting - Unquestioningly Better. ALL named characters have different voices. Including many of the repeated names like NCR Trooper DLC - Actually has relevance to the game, and the characters within are mentioned somewhere. Dead Money - Father Elijah (Elder), Christine Difficulty - Hardcore Difficulty. Makes those otherwise almost activities in Fallout 3, Useful. Drinking Water, Eating, Sleeping, Ammo with Weight. Healing over time. Lots of Realism Customisation - Apply Silencers, Scopes etc. Exploration - Much less copy and paste going on. Vaults for example look different in many ways. At least in terms of Layout. Monsters - a lot more Varieties. Baby Deathclaw, Young Deathclaw, Deathclaw, Deathclaw Alphamale, Deathclaw Mother, Legendary Deathclaw, Status - Whatever you do, affects your status with other factions (Partly to what they are aiming towards in Skyrim DLCs: Difficult, Especially Dead Money, and was actually worth playing more than once. Also, epic lore behind them. Unlike FO3 Levels: Although there are a few more levels in New Vegas, you don't get to have many of the perks you gain from levelling due to picking a perk every 2 levels. Bad Move. Nuisence Items: 9mm casings etc. I'm not sure about the use of them, they normally end up in a dumpster when i clear out inventory. Makes you Read: Best example is the final stage of Dead Money, at the Terminal in the Vault. a lot of quests are not a dead give away in the objectives, you actually have to look, or it's game over. Combat: People will actually come to track you down, or Ambush you. Legionnaire Assassins, Viper Gang on the road to Novac. You're free to run wherever you please, but there are annoying barriers everywhere. I.E. You can't run over small hills. For example, a small hill by the road towards Hoover Dam. :wallbash: Neutral feelings: Fallout 3: Has a background story on the Lone Wanderer, but you experience this within the next 5 minutes of hitting "New Game" option on the title screen (Troll) - A tiny bit later on that the Lone Wanderer wasn't actually born in the Vault. After that, a dead trail. New Vegas: Invent your own Backstory. No information on the Couriers family, or where he or she came from. I could go on further. But I've already spent a good 45 mins or more on this post. I'm a little bit of a critic in a sense. I like my games to hold some sense of Realism, but not too much realism where a Fantasy RPG becomes another Call of Duty. If everything in an RPG died in one hit, then the games would be extremely short. Both: Falling 15 feet and dying from the fall. MASSIVE criticism. TL;DR: The thing that really sets both games apart, is the Hardcore Mode. This isn't just the weighted ammo, it's everything else in general. Javalin
  25. Name: Machiavelli Gender: Female Age: 20-25 Race: Caucasian Combat Style: Stealth - Fails on a regular basis. Thanks to Hardcore Difficulty Specialties: Dying or Becoming Over-Encumbered while swimmung underwater. Weaknesses: Using Third Person too much Likes: The BIG open areas. Dislikes: The ridiculous invisibile barriers that stop me taking short cuts. Fears: Deathclaws, a p***ed off Mother Deathclaw (To be more precise) Friendly Factions: BoS, NCR, Boomers Enemy Factions: Legion, Khans, Fiends (All Homicidal Cutthroats, Rapists, Drug users, and members of a particular faction buried me half-alive..) Companions: Travel Alone Love interest?: Dead Parents: Dead. Were blown up while passing by the Nelson air field (Near the Boomers) - Good Riddance! How did he/she become a courier?: Known to be pretty quiet, and not complain too much. (MUTED)
