  1. if you use F4SE get Better Console and it will tell you exactly what plugin the selected reference comes from. Should be noted however that some older mods like Homemaker made a conscious choice to set their lights up to only use ambient illumination to reduce system strain.
  2. The script extender works by injecting it's code into RAM at runtime and to do this it needs direct access to Fallout4.exe. Trying to load it through Steam is essentially putting the Steam API code between FO4SE and Fallout4.exe. If the hooks are shifted even slightly the Script Extender won't work and that is why GOG has a separate version. What you are trying to do would also require a different version.
  3. That is not an option if you want to play with mods. You are not wrong about needing more info though. Where is your game installed? How did you roll the update back? Where is the ini you are editing located? What exactly are the edits you are making? Does this occur with ZERO mods enabled?

When everything gets set to zero whoever is willing to kill for it gets to take the helm and outside of civilized society those that attempt to subtly steer the ship end up thrown overboard.
  7. Please don't let this discourage you from trying the CK again. Even if you never actually make a mod you can learn to tweak the mods you do download to more closely suit your preferences and at the very least your gained understanding of how all the pieces fit together will make managing a mod set a lot easier.

  11. if you reinstall the CK you will need to do that again before you play so the launcher can add it's settings to the CK ini aswell. then when you copy over the roll back version just ommit the ini.
  12. When the CK is installed it's INI over rides Fallot4.ini graphic settings.
  13. just put steam in offline mode and start with the vanilla launcher to reset your graphics settings. next time you reinstall the CK don't copy over the ini and this won't happen again.

  16. Get CK Platform Extended mod and use its launcher to side step launching through steam. You need build 733, it is the top file in the old files list.
  17. If the mod has a misl item when removed you can drop it on the ground and open the console and select it. If you don't have better console you will have to trace the first two digits of the form id to the corresponding mod in your load order. Hopefully you use F4SE and Better Console in which case when selecting the item it will tell you the esp/esm of origin, the last esp to modify that reference and the last esp to modify the base object. Very useful info.
  18. Armor tiers are separate meshes. You can achieve the same thing with materials and they are just a material swap. In order to fully clone an armor set you have to duplicate EVERYTHING including keywords and formlists.(some keywords are general though and shouldn't be duplicated). Your tutorial for learning how can be found in We are the Minutemen. Load that up in the CK and see how he was able to fully clone the combat armor. Right click + use info to sus out everything that needs to be duplicated.
  19. Occums Razor: The solution that makes the least assumptions is most often the answer. I don't think there is any scheme, it's just a simple way of establishing version control. My guess is it is more for in house development than anything else which would explain why it doesn't make any sense to us.

  21. Check this out Moddable Robot Settlers Compilation (Automatron) Not only does it do a bunch of other great stuff but it adds (non-automatron) versions of most legs that increase carry weight and I believe side steps the bug in question.
  22. You ain't kidding. I long for the comparatively lightning fast load time of 2-5 sec with Skyrim and i'm on an old sata 2 HDD running on super Ultra(4k tex) and 150gb mod set. Here i'm running NO HD textures at all with a 40gb mod set and i'm lucky if my load time is under 20 sec and that is WITH the High Physics Fix(before the fix it's 40-50 sec.)
  23. They weren't included likely because they are vanilla files. You will have to unpack the vanilla Texture BSA they are located in and copy those over too. Don't redistribute them though, that is not allowed as you likely already know.

  25. Do you have Steam installed in Program files folder? UAC will not allow programs to write to those folders at runtime. Steam should be installed to the root in order to get around this. C:/Steam You could also put it on another drive but that may affect performance.
