  1. I wanted to make a junkwall around one of the settlements but I gave it up after 2 hours. It should be possible to place a wall next to another wall or some building, so that there wont be any gap between them or to place objectst on bumpy surfaces so that they adjust to the surface. But still its rly nice to have the option to build all these settlements.
  2. Totally agree with that. There are many games out there where you cant create or change anything, but in the Fallout or TESO games you can create or change nearly everything as a modder. We should be happy that we have this option!
  3. If you are going to spend money on a new PC, you might want to take into account future proofing your stuff so that 4 years from now you still have a processor and motherboard that will handle top notch games. GPU and RAM can be replaced without much forethought, but replacing a processor means rebuilding the whole thing basically. Just something to keep in mind, rather than just looking at the specs for one game today, what about games next year? Yeah, you're right. Would be nice if I could run Fallout 5 in the future on the same PC without upgrading to much ^^ I think I will invest more in a processor and a motherboard and not so much in RAM and GPU since they can be replaced when its necessary. http://www.pcworld.com/article/2955293/hardware/skylake-review-intels-6th-gen-cpu-arrives-with-nice-presents-for-gamers-and-enthusiasts.html 4 ghz out of the box and built to be overclocked. I personally want to get one with an overclock friendly motherboard and then not overclock it yet, because nothing needs anywhere near that today. But, two years from now when they release an i7 that runs at 4.7 GHz, I can then overclock my older i7 to 4.7 GHz and get more years out of it. If I had got a better motherboard with my 1st generation i7 I am currently running, I would have been able to overclock it to surpass the recommended stats for Fallout 4, but instead I am barely on the edge of the minimum... But anyways, the 6th generation 'Skylake' i7s will be using the new DDR4 ram motherboards, so 4 years from now you will still be able to find ram and upgrade it. It was hard for me to find 8500 DDR3 ram 6 years later because my motherboard wouldn't support anything higher, which would have been super easy to find. Ram upgrades are cheap and videocards are plug and play, so you don't have to worry about future proofing that stuff. 16gb of RAM is less that $90 and modern games only require half that. I personally only run 12gb of the 16gb set I bought, but that is just my motherboard again not being optimized for dual channel over 8gb but supporting triple channel at 12gb. There are certain cons of running SLI with your videocards, but it is at least something worth looking into. If you build a rig that can support SLI and get one top notch videocard for expensive today, then 2 years from now when your videocard is no longer looking like the top dog anymore, you can buy a second or even third of that same videocard for MUCH cheaper this time around, and then run BOTH of them. So basically doubling your GPU for about $150 as opposed to scrapping your old card and buying a $300 GPU. Also, last point to not forget, since clearly you are on the Nexus Forums it is safe to assume you want to mod this game, so don't limit yourself to what can play Fallout 4 now... Skyrim with some of it's crazy graphics mods requires a lot more out of your computer than Skyrim out of the box. Modders are not usually the best at keeping specs low, so I would assume that certain builds of modded Skyrim would have higher recommended specs than Fallout 4 has. There is no way my computer now will be playing all the Fallout 4 mods that will be available 2-4 years from now. Thnx for all this information! And damn... I totally forgot about the mods.

  5. I wanted to buy a new PC in summer but when Fallout 4 was announced I told myself to wait until the requirements are out. I wasn't expecting the recommend ones to be this "high". So I will wait until some feedback's from people playing this game are out and then I will see if If my new PC really needs all the recommended stuff.
  6. Nice! This will make it much faster and easier to find some information and help.
  7. In response to post #26152804. #26160334, #26167244, #26167844, #26169834, #26170174, #26174459, #26176529 are all replies on the same post. Your family is dead and you come out of the vault 200 years later. So you can start all over and forget about the first minutes of gameplay. And I am sure that there will be several alternative start mods.
  8. The vendor which I made wont sell or buy normal weapons. He has weapons like the 9mm pistol or the service rifle in his vendor chest but they wont show up when I browse his wares. Only energy weapons like the laser pistol or plasma rifle which also are in his vendor chest will show up. Its the same problem with selling weapons. The energy weapons which I sell to him will show up but normal weapons wont. Miscellaneous, ammo, armor and other items show up and there are no problems. Its only affecting the weapon trade. Any idea why he will sell/buy only energy weapons?
  9. My NPC is sandboxing and when the player approaches him, he will run towards the player and start a dialogue but after the dialogue he wont continue the sandbox package. He is just standing at the location where he finished his dialogue with the player. I checked similar packages in the game but found no option to make the NPC return to the sandbox package after he finishes the dialogue package. Do I have to add conditions to the sandbox and dialogue package or make a script? Any kind of help would be much appreciated.

I have played all Fallout games, including Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics and the newer ones and all TES games starting from Morrowind and I would never say that these games were bad quality. The quality of these games is above high. I just meant to say that I have made the experience that sometimes products have a higher price then their predecessor but lose in quality to them and that's because somebody wanted to make more money. Again, my intention wasn't to sound like the previous Fallout and TES games were bad quality and that I am assuming that Fallout 4 will be bad.
  11. In response to post #25831469. Agreed and that's not a problem but its just not what I expected after buying the Legendary Edition of Skyrim for 29.99. Okey that was back in 2013 but still. It makes me kinda worry that the game wont be as great as I imagined because they cared more about earning money than making a high quality product.

If they are taking away the option to play as a female, then they are destroying the creative process of creating your own and unique character that was one of the things which I enjoyed the most in the Fallout and TES series because the different characters which I created felt alive and I could play the games again and again, always making my own and new story with a different character. But to play with a predetermined character is making me feel like something is limiting me and I cant feel the freedom of the game anymore. But this opinion of mine is only about the Fallout and TES series. There are many games where I enjoy the predetermined protagonists.
  13. In response to post #25821109. #25823069 is also a reply to the same post. 59.99EUR. Thats kinda... well that's just not the price which I imagined for Fallout 4, since games like Fallout and TES tend to have payed DLCs. But its only day 2 after the public announcement so maybe the price will change and they may add some goodies to the pre-order.
  14. In response to post #25806069. I don't think that there will be a predefined protagonist because we always got the option to make our own character in the Fallout series and after all the options that Skyrim offered regarding the character creation they wont just erase this process of creating your own and unique character. But still the fact that the "protagonist" in the video spoke is quite troublesome. Hopefully it was only for the video and not the game.

I too thought about Rage when I watched this, especially at the scenes with the settlements and the airships. These scenes had like nothing to do with Fallout, but there was still enough old Fallout stuff in the Trailer.
  16. Awesome! The Trailer was really interesting and kinda reminded me of Rage. Everything looked so... alive. Hopefully it will be like this in the game and not only in this video.
  17. In response to post #25797164. Yeah same here. Its back to stand by. Just without the timer. Well maybe some error so lets wait a little bit longer.
  18. Getting a black screen with this now: ACCESS ERROR PA system failure has occured. Shutdown of the Masterbrain has been authorized and all sensitive materials have been removed for security purposes. Please attempt re-access. Have a pleasant day.
  19. In response to post #25793864. I don't think they would do something like that seeing how big the modding communities of the Fallout and TES series are. The option to mod your game is one of the main reasons why people are buying the games so it would most likely be the end of the Fallout series if they would make the next Fallout game without mod support.
  20. Yes! Yes! Yes! I would be satisfied with anything Fallout 4 related, except a fake or a prank. Just an announcement or some information. So that I can sleep peacefully at nights, knowing that there will be a continuation to the Fallout series.
  21. So I have successfully made several NPCs that autotalk when the players enters the trigger but all of them had a sandbox package. Now I wanted to make an NPC autotalk who is guarding a location with the guard package. I tried to do it the same way I did it with the NPCs that had sandbox packages but It didn't worked.
  22. I have an NPC in my mod who does a simple patrol package. Its a 24/7 patrol from point A to point B. Mostly everything work's fine but sometimes he isn't walking the route but teleporting. It looks like this- He is standing for 2 seconds like if he would be frozen and then he teleports a short distance forward and then again he stays still for 2 seconds and then he teleports again for a short distance... That´s how he is making the whole distance between point A and B. But like I said its happening only sometimes and I cant figure out what could cause this behavior because it doesn't matter if I approach him or fast travel to the location next to him or if its day or night and there are no other patrol routes, NPC sandbox packages near him or any enemies.
