  1. No. Way. :armscrossed: I've only had 3 quest bugs, and literally... less than 5-10 CTD's, 10 is probably at absolute best if you want to count Alt-Tab crashes but pft, I've just come to accept that as a feature of Bethesda's games lol Around 200 hours here too. Loki sounds luckier than me even, but I've not had anything horridly game breaking other than that stupid civil war quest bug. And Vroix, according to the Xbox players on sites like Gamespot, etc, and a couple news articles, it's around 581MB on there. If we got really lucky and they gave us higher res textures as well, I'd say it'll still be somewhere under 1GB or so. But, I'd wager it'll be closer to the 581MB and we get nearly the same package.
  2. One. Meeko. He doesn't get in the way as often as humanoid followers and generally has no trouble surviving against whatever. If he decided to go kill a bear or whatever that I don't see and then notice he isn't following me, I just keep walking, knowing he generally shows up in a little bit. Humanoid followers? Forget it. If rabbits could get rabified in Skyrim, I would put my money down on the rabbit unless Meeko were fighting it. Just my personal experience which is probably a result of how I battle, but I just keep Lydia at Breezehome to "tend to the house." (Even though that means setting in the bedroom chair over and over for hours on end.)
  3. I didn't quote it, but I agree with your previous post as well. I don't mod any aspect until I've played it at least once or twice, but probably even more than that. I do have a couple minor mods and some textures (although I require they be extremely close to vanilla) but really, I bought Skyrim for Skyrim, the fact I can mod it later is like an added bonus. To be honest, I use "addons" or "plugins" more than I do "mods", to be technical, because I actually enjoy vanilla tons and prefer to add to my experience, not change it or overhaul it. Whatever floats whoever's boat though, but I agree with you on that. I'm also waiting until updates and DLC are done too because it's not worth the hassle to me to fix everything all the time. (Already getting burned on Dragonbone Weapons, even though I do like the mod more but still.) In reply to the post I quoted, I've also always felt the Unofficial Patches sometimes "overfix" things and it goes into the realm of labeling personal taste as a fix. The Skyrim one though, I feel, is much better than previous ones at mostly providing fixes only. In reply to worldofscotty, personally, I'd rather play Superman 64 than play Skyrim looking like that. Rarely are there exceptions to this (in my opinion, of course), especially with Skyrim, but I don't think ENB graphically enhances anything whatsoever, I'd even say it degrades quality sometimes. I know that puts me in a pretty small crowd of people though, but oh well. But here's the thing. Plenty of people would find mods I like boring as well. There's something for everyone and since we finally have filtering on Nexus, it's easier to find whatever you want. The only problem is, once you get overwhelmed with fiddling with mods outside the game, it can sometimes burn you out on the entire experience. Had it happen before haha But still, the fact the options are there provide more potential for fun in my opinion than on 360/PS3. It's just getting past putting up with mods outside the game. It might just be something that doesn't bother everyone though I think, and I call those the lucky ones lol
  4. Game Setup: Mods: Very few mods, but Official High Res DLC, SMIM Full, and a few other high res replacers. Settings: Slightly modified High. Ultra is totally possible too, but I don't find the much of an improvement over High since Skyrim seems very good about pop-in generally. Other: Ran with SKSE, only for Container Categories hack currently. Specs: OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit, always up to date of course. CPU: i7 2600K at stock 3.4GHz (I don't currently need the extra power like I thought originally, so no point in overclocking it at the moment.) GPU: GTX 460 2GB, slight factory overclock. Driver version 301.42 (This improved the game performance even further.) 1920x1080 resolution ran in and out of game. Mobo: Asus P8P67 Pro, not that the mobo should matter. Audio: Realtek 8.1 Surround Sound on-board. Sadly, I do not have a set of speakers for 8.1, but I do for 5.1 and run my audio as such at 24-bit, 44100 Hz Studio Quality sound. RAM: 12GB 1333MHz Dual Channel, Corsair HDD: 7200 RPM Spinpoint F3, 1TB Other hardware that shouldn't matter either: Blu-Ray Burner. 500GB External HDD. Xbox 360 Controller. So all that said, on the software side, I clean my system often with CCleaner, both the normal and Registry cleaner. I run Avast Antivirus, Free Edition which I find to be super friendly towards my games. I also have my entire start up list disabled other than Avast, and many services are disabled as well. I do this because I prefer to keep everything as clean and streamlined as possible, but no doubt it helps on games too. So finally, I get a steady 60FPS and since release, in 200 hours or so overall, I'd say I've had 5-10 crashes at worst, not counting Alt-Tab crashes but hey, doing that in Beth games is just asking for a crash sadly lol
  5. I started with Oblivion on 360 and basically became a PC gamer because of it. That said, I would say I spent more time making sure mods didn't conflict while still getting the features I wanted out of them, so I spent a lot of time fiddling with stuff in the CS. I won't say it was always fun, especially when you find something awesome and wanna jump right in, but overall I found using/creating/editing mods to be fun even though I spent more time working outside the game than being in it. Skyrim on the other hand, I haven't played on 360 because well, I don't have consoles anymore like I said above lol but even so, I've not installed many mods in Skyrim, so I can't say for sure concerning it. That's partially because I'm very much a lore junkie, but also because I don't want to install something a DLC or update will take care of, like what has already happened to me with Dragonbone Weapons lol Although I like the mod better, but that's another story. Anyway, to answer the thread itself, I think PC offers more possibility for fun, but I totally agree it's easy to get into the realm of spending more time finding/updating/etc mods than actually playing. So many options can be overwhelming in a way, really. Also MrGoldenAge, about skimpy/anime/etc stuff, have you blocked those tags? Just wondering, you may have but it's worth mentioning since I run into a lot of people who don't know about it yet. If you haven't, it'll help you a bit to get the best Nexus experience and block out those kinds of mods. I also don't like ENB and skimpy stuff personally, and it's helped me a lot for the latter. (No tags for ENB though.)
  6. About .59GB. And no, the decimal point is placed correctly. Not counting the High Res DLC.
  7. Agree with this. Werewolves and Vampires are fine by me, as it seems much of the blind hype surrounding both has died down a considerable amount, and they're established in lore as well of course, but if Beth made a "b a zombie! Lulz!!!!!!!" DLC, oh, I would be fuming lol Yeah, they're in lore as well, but they're in the category of blind hype, for me. I don't really understand the whole zombie craze. I've never thought zombies were interesting in any meaningful degree, personally, and the only games I've played with horror depictions of zombies are the classic Resident Evils. Even then, I found other enemies much more frightening/cool. But of course, if zombies float you boat, it's all good too, but it's just that this recent hype has gotten pretty annoying in my opinion. Especially gaming wise.
  8. I'd be really, really surprised if werebears were in Dawnguard, and that'd be pretty cool but if not, it's all good. If the info and pictures did indeed leak, I just find it odd not even one person managed to save the pictures and they've not appeared anywhere else. Or even mentioned again. Seems improbable to me. Also, interesting point about the perk tree MrBuio! Other than the howl, only the wolf constellation itself holds it back. Regardless, while probably not in Dawnguard, I think we'll see werebears eventually, considering all the other Game Jam content we've seen finalized, plus the supporting lore for werebears. The only thing I want more is verlet surfaces for non-rigid objects, but that's another story.
  9. Well, I don't see why preliminary nudity is required to make a Daggerfall style mod. Nudity is a mesh and texture edit. All Bethesda needs to do is modify the engine to be more open in that aspect. I agree it sucks we can't truly add new enemies, but whether Bethesda makes them nude or not doesn't matter. Open up the engine to allow for new enemies and animations in a similar way to how items/statics are handled, and you can add whatever you want. And if they didn't do that and let's say they only added Medusas, just for example, and they weren't nude, there is nothing stopping anyone from modifying that to begin with. You can go modify Spriggans right now and give them wooden nipples if you wanted. Yes, this means it's up to the modders to do it, as has been said, but if it weren't up to the modders to do it to some extent, then basically that means Bethesda needs to add every single thing we want, as we want it, to begin with. You can't please everyone, which is why opening up the engine and letting modders pick and choose is the best way for this to work for everyone. But in the end, these are two issues which don't have anything to do with each other. The only way to relate them is by assuming everyone gets nude enemies (and believe it or not, a lot of people don't care or flat out do not want that), and Beth opens a gigantic can of worms, so that the ones who truly do want them can be pleased and not have to work for it.
  10. Same ones I seen as well, except a little bigger but the quality was just as bad lol None the less, they're ok looking but maybe they're indeed better looking than the "I took this pic off my TV with a disposable camera lol" quality can show. Their outline, at least, just don't seem as detailed and interesting as the mod.
  11. I usually like Beth's designs but I've already seen the weapons and they're alright but I prefer the mod honestly. Not that I won't still use both, more the merrier.
  12. If Beth ever added nudity into the games, I'd be severely disappointed and would indeed anxiously await a mod for covering NPC's up. I see many who use it for realism and that's fine if you feel that enhances something, but I personally could not care less. I don't want something that is unrealistic to the lore, like 9mm's or cars, but beyond that, realism doesn't matter to me. I do use some immersive mods, but mostly, I'm immersed in the game simply because it's fun. I don't need nude people in it to feel like I'm playing a fun game. I slay dragons, I kill bandits, etc. That's the fun in it for me. Doing something I can't in real life. I don't plan on killing some beat up, ugly criminal and stripping them in real life so I can sell their cotton shirt and denim jeans for 10 Septims, and, as real life is, you know, realistic, see their nude body. Therefore, I don't care about it in the game either. Yeah, it's an over the top example but you get my point, I don't feel I need to mod everything just to make it just like real life. I want to play a game, not Life Simulation Scrolls V.
  13. I don't feel I got burned once in the first place. I'm excited to buy it. I think it'll be fun and worth the 20 bucks, and it will outlast the 10-20 estimated hours for me and many others.
  14. Your video is a playlist and defaults to the ESO video. Here is the direct link to the Dawnguard one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UEQFp4tzQc Anyway, kind of surprised by Todd's "I don't know" release date for PC and PS3. It was supposed to be 30 days after Xbox. Also interested to see Beth's Dragon Bone Weapons and how, or if, the mod will be modified to work around it. That's one of my favorite mods, I'm glad to see console players will get something similar.
  15. It might be possible with a SKSE plugin, but that's easier said than done. It'd actually be pretty nice to see an expanded console overall. Mouse support, a common commands menu, etc. You might wanna ask in the mod discussion forum, or have this moved there. I think others would be interested in a "Quick Console" mod as well.
  16. Huh, interesting. Wonder what will come of this? Probably is the second DLC, but who knows, but a DLC where conjuration plays a big part would be nifty. Good news none the less! Thanks for the link. What's everyone else think?
  17. FINALLY! I'm going to speak on my side of the situation (dislikes nude, skimpy, etc) first by saying I'm glad we were listened to and no longer need to constantly be put down and have our sexualities questioned by some (Trust me, it happened many a time even if you never seen it. Many others will tell you the same.) over what we want in our games and don't want in our games. With that off my chest, this is great for every single user. I have nothing against anyone who likes those mods, that's cool, Nexus is all about having fun with your game when it comes down to it. So use what you like, and now, you can find more of what you like more easily just as well as we can find what we like. It's a win-win, neither side is subjected to wasting time wading through results we don't want in the first place. Thank you very much for this Dark0ne and all others who helped in this as well as those who pushed for this to happen. I hope everyone has even more fun modding and playing mods now, and I think we all will! I'll definitely be voting on tags from now on. Thank you again all.
  18. Thanks for the info. Been using the beta build myself, runs fine other than an annoying bug when working with very large images. Believe it's mostly to do with the hardware acceleration. None the less, I recommend anyone to try this out if they have GIMP. It'll take a bit of getting used to, but it's nice overall. I'm sure this final is better. So check it out people, it's really useful for any aspiring texture artist who can't afford or refuses to pay that kind of price for Photoshop.
  19. Since quality is a individually definable term, I'll just say go with Nexus if you want highest res. If you want semi-high res while still fitting the game's style, go with Beth all the way. There are some high res retextures here that match the game well, but most the packs, in my opinion, don't match as well. Also, while it isn't strictly a texture mod, you're obviously going for making the game look good, so be sure to download the mesh improvement mod from Nexus. I think you'll like it. Mesh Improvement Mod
  20. By the Nine Divines is this a nicely done vid! lol I think it's pretty impressive, and got me interested in a couple of the mods shown as well! So the main objective of the video, I feel, was achieved. I'll give a little review as well though. So for the pros: - It's overall done in a professional looking and sounding way. Where did you get that music? I really like it personally. - You covered the details of the mods very well, which to me is important. Without seeing the details, a horse mod is just a horse mod. I like to see how it actually works, not a video telling me what it does instead. So good job on that. - The thing you did with the black background for the Enhanced Horse Skins mod was nice. - Finally, the fact it's in 1080p is always nice. For me, I don't see it was a requirement at all but a nice option. I personally wouldn't be able to watch the video until 6 hours later with my crap internet lol but good for those who can watch in 1080p. For the cons: - I would shorten the intro a bit, it's definitely cool but seeing it everytime can become a little annoying. Of course, you've only done this one video so I don't even know if next time it would've been as long, but just as a heads up. The list of mods shown at the beginning is nice, so I would keep that. - A few parts of the video, because of in game lighting and such, had hard to read text. Now, keeping in mind that I watched at 480p, that surely plays into it quite a bit but I would put a semi-transparent box behind the text to increase contrast between the actual game and the text itself. Or maybe put a solid black border around the text. Whatever floats your boat and you can do, just a couple suggestions I thought of that might help. - Segment length could maybe be cut down a bit, Better Horses for example. While it has a lot of features, it was a bit long I thought. Other than that, I have no other cons for the video. I'm going back in a second to subscribe to your channel as a matter of fact lol So, really well done overall I think.
  21. I second this, really great idea! Definitely an interesting and immersive mod if ever made, furthermore if it's incorporated into an economy system similar to what Beth was going to put in the game. Those two mods together would be perfect.
  22. The resources from Fallout 3 already existed in New Vegas. The modder just made them accessible. Rabbit Some of the resources did, but the mod actually does port a lot of Fallout 3 to NV, including DLC. While F3 and NV do share a lot of meshes and textures, there are still quite a few they don't and furthermore, the DLC for F3 is highly non-existent in NV. Mothership Zeta being the most non-existent of them all probably. And the mod itself is only patches to fix some bugs and steps for how to do it get the game ported in the first place. So in the end, the difference between Requiem and Morroblivion, at least in my eyes, is minimal. To note is the fact I don't know quite as much about Morroblivion as Requiem, so it's possible I'm missing a little detail that changes everything, but I've never found an exact reason outside of the undetailed Beth requested removal. So the question is what is it that makes Morroblivion and Requiem different? I don't know honestly. The only thing I can think of is that I once heard Beth licensed some of the meshes/textures of Morrowind from outside authors. I've never seen proof of it, and it certainly could be true but without proof I don't really know which way to lean on that.
  23. They've both been done in real life actually lol Here's Potage le Magnifique, Potage And here is Sunlight Souffle, they reduce the nutmeg of course, I'm hoping a video crops up of Potage, maybe there is one but I missed it, oh well, it looks disgusting lol According to the article it's as bad as it looks.
  24. I could take a crack at it, but I cannot texture due to not having an actual photoshop, I have Photoshop elements and it's just not the same. Could always try out GIMP if you wanted. Maybe you already have, don't know, but I figured I'd suggest anyway lol I've never used PS or PSe either, so... But if you're gonna try it out, get 2.8 here, it's beta but works splendidly for me. Also has some nice improvements, some better brushes mainly imo. Plus it'll install the 64 bit version if you've 64 bit Windows. GIMP 2.8
  25. Thanks for making them followers =] lol Also, I might be wrong but I believe Wrye Bash can display what mods are used for each save. I don't use it though, I think now it's Python-less or something but Python was what turned me off from it originally and I just don't really need it now. Anyway, transfering mod items would be pretty cool. But there are a lot of hassles with that like you said. I didn't know you intended to transfer mod data, I figured my saves would help you determine how to get rid of that data before the transfer, so as to eliminate the invalid items. Sorry about that lol And wait, TESNexus has a save games section? Huh, news to me lol Probably just didn't notice because I'm almost always in clothing, armor, weapons or quests categories.
