  2. Hey guys :) So, I'm working on an update for one of my mods right now, and it's almost finished, there's just one little problem. I can't think up what good enchantments I can make :S I need three different enchantments, one that suits mage type characters, one for a warrior character, and one for a thief character. But they've got to be powerful. Currently I'm just using the generic 'fortify sneak', 'fortify one handed' etc enchantments, but I feel I need something more.. awesome. Because these enchantments will basically be a reward for a long 'treasure hunt' type quest thing. I'm quite good with making up new enchantments that don't already exist. I just can't use a script to attach new perks rather than an enchantment as the script I've already got on the item wouldn't allow that to work. So basically, can you guys give me ideas for what I could do? Ones that would be a worthwhile reward. Thanks for reading and I hope people can give me some suggestions! :)
  3. Have you enabled the dual sheath redux patch esp? There should be two esp's, the main one and the patch one. The patch one should be placed at the end of your load order, and after the bashed patch if you have one.
  4. Lol no not quite like that :P I meant in the way it'll be another transformation you can get. But turning other people into rieklings is a good idea! :)
  5. Currently I'm working on a mod that allows you to turn into a riekling, much like how you can become a vampire or werewolf. It's nowhere near finished but it's getting there :) Hope you guys'll like it when it's done!
  6. Okay sorry never mind I should have read back a bit before posting. I found the fix. You have to uninstall the latest version of NVidia GeForce experience. Grr -_-

Just now I tried to start skyrim, but I got this error: "The procedure entry point Direct3Dcreate9Ex could not be located in the dynamic link library d3d9.dll" Please help I don't know what this means?! I do have the d3d9.dll file in my skyrim data folder?? Also I'm using an ENB. Didn't get this error on my other profile that doesn't have an ENB. But I've played on this profile before with no problems at all? I don't know what's wrong, if someone could help I'd be very grateful, thanks!!
  8. Sorry never mind I fixed it. In the perk entries bit I had to change it from 'apply weapon swing spell' to 'apply combat hit spell'. Silly me >.<
  9. Hi, so, I've created a new perk in the creation kit, and what it does/is supposed to do is basically when using a certain weapon, there is a chance to disarm the opponent. However, here's the problem: instead of disarming my opponent when I hit them with the weapon, I get disarmed instead! :/ So, I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can fix it so the person I'm attacking gets disarmed instead of me. Thanks.

Hi, so, I've created this mesh of a weapon in blender, and as you can see in the image, it's got a like divide line down the middle of the blade: http://static-4.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/8345545-1411388896.png But my problem is, when I texture the mesh, you can't see that divide line any more. So the blade doesn't look right, it looks sort of rounded. I'm wondering how I can get that part of the mesh to still show up when it's textured? In the mesh the line IS extruded outwards so it's not just a flat line. :S If anyone could help me with this I'd be really grateful. Hope I explained it good enough.. Thanks!
  11. Okay, it does actually have a divide down the middle like that on the mesh, but once I texture it you can't really see it. I guess then I'll try and make it more prominent :)
  12. Okay I think I get what you mean. I'll work more on the texture then - on the edges of the blade maybe if I make it look more worn it'll look less round. Also thanks for all the other comments, they're very useful :) Oh and yeah I did make a normal map, but I just made it using the GIMP normal map plug-in. I'll check out that link on normal maps though, thanks!

  14. Okay well I've had another go at texturing it, basically did most of it again from scratch, and completely redid the normal map. Also made a proper specular map - before my specular was just black and I'd done an environment map instead.. don't ask me why lol. So I was wondering if maybe I could get some more feedback? I'm just not sure when to upload it - don't want to put it up before I've got it right :smile: So tell me like if you think it's good enough to be finished. Or, if it's not good... either way.   15. Hi thanks for trying to help :) Though I'd already tried that and it didn't work, as only the blade of the knife was wrong, and doing that messed up the handle instead. But, no worries, I've fixed it now :) Incase anyone else has a similar problem, what I did was go into Blender and select just the blade part of the mesh and went into normals in edit mode and clicked 'recalculate outside'. Though I can't actually take the credit for figuring it out myself, another modded called Tamira helped me out :)

So I've made a knife mesh using Blender, but when I look at it in nifskope, or in-game, the handle of the knife is fine, but the blade is 'inside-out' :S I tried setting the BSLightingShaderProperty under shader flags 2 to 'double sided' and that makes it appear right, but the whole blade is in shadow as it's like it's inside-out, and the light is reflecting off the inside of the mesh that you can't see, instead of the outside. I can't flip the faces in nifskope either as that turns the handle inside out. I even tried creating just the blade again in Blender as I thought maybe I'd accidently done something weird, but I had the same problem? :/ Basically I'm wondering if in Blender there's a way for you to like, 'flip the faces' of a mesh. Because I can't do it using nifskope as it flips the entire knife, and I only want to flip the blade. Anyway, hope that made sense.. tell me if you need more information, I'm not sure I explained it well. Hope someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance! :)

But that's cool, I'm up for it :) Also thank you Matth for that very detailed post - it really was very useful for me :) I'm gonna work on all the bits you said, and hopefully I'll get it looking much nicer.   18. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it :) I actually have created an indent within the mesh, but for some reason when I texture the blade you can't see it :S Okay yep I'll work on the hilt more, that's actually the part I was least pleased with lol :P
  19. Hey thanks for those, I've bookmarked them for future reference :) Anyway, I've had a go at texturing it, but I'm not sure whether I like it or not :/ I also changed the mesh slightly. Can people give me their honest opinions on what they think of this? (without being rude though please) Currently I don't think I'm satisfied with it.   20. Hi, so, I've created a new model for a knife, but I don't know how I should texture it. I mean, I know HOW to texture (not that I'm very good at it though..), but I can't think what I want it to look like. So, I thought I'd ask here for some ideas :) Here's a picture of just the mesh in nifskope so you know what it looks like: http://static-1.nexusmods.com/15/images/110/8345545-1411166371.png All ideas are welcome :) I want this knife to look kind of unique, I'm just not sure how I should go about doing that with the texturing.   22. Hi, so I've created a new weapon mod, but have a bit of a problem. I've made the texture/diffuse map, and also made a normal map, both using GIMP. Then I assign the correct texture paths in NifSkope, and test it. But, my normal map isn't showing up. But, the weird thing is, it is kind of... Basically, the weapon has metal rings on the handle which I made a normal map for to make them look like they're indented. But in game, only two of the five rings show up with indents in them?? So it's like only half of the normal map is actually working or something :S I've definitely assigned the normal map to the right texture slot in nifskope (as otherwise I don't think it would show up at all?). I have no idea what the problem is. I've tried making the normal map again from scratch, at least 3 times, but every time I get the same problem, and it's the same two rings that have the indents, and not the other three. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks.
  23. Just double click on the texture, highlight and delete everything there, and hit enter. Then it should be blank :smile:
