  1. You might take a look at "Main Font Replacement". It has a number of different fonts to choose from some large some small, might find what you are looking for there.
  2. Happens to me when I fast travel to Whiterun, although it is only the ground texture and some rock texture; which is why I always make a save before fast traveling to Whiterun. When this does occur, and it only happens rarely, I play for another fifteen or twenty minutes sometime more, save again and then fast travel to Whiterun and the textures are back. I really have no idea why this happens but as it rarely happens and it is fairly easy to correct I have never considered it a game breaking bug. Maybe if I were more knowledgeable I could search out the cause of this, unfortunately I am not.
  3. I do not know if this is relevant to your problem but it may be. You must be level 10 or over to get the quest A Daedra's Best Friend from the guard at the entrance to Falkreath. If you are level 10 or over you may get the quest from a Falkreath guard that is just roaming around and not necessarily at the entrance to Falkreath.

  5. I Have not played FO3 in a while and am just starting a new game when I ran into this. Right after exiting Vault 101 I level up and choose my skills click "done" and go to the perk page, it says to choose two perks but will only let me choose one. Then after I choose that one I cannot choose another and every option is grayed out except for "back". I am stuck there. These are the mods I have loaded so far. I also have Stewies Tweaks but nothing I enabled in the ini would interfere with this. If you see a mod that would cause this let me know.
  6. Well, yes Showler, the mod that link sent me to is for the latest USSEP. According to the mod page it was last updated on 27 May 2023. It also said it was for v,1.6.629 or greater. I stand corrected. The page it is on is the latest USSEP, however the download is for the archived version. I apologize Showler.
  7. Thanks Showler. I am giving it a shot to try to install the game disregarding the whole MO2 business. I will see what happens after it is installed. At the moment I have it installing in E:\Tale of Two Wastelands. My problem will probably be getting NMM to recognize it. If I cannot do that I will check out Gopher's videos and see if how he got Vortex to recognize the game can somehow be applied to NMM.If that doesn't work I guess I will just have to go ask Dusk Dweller on his Discord page.. It is taking forever and a day to install.

  9. I believe you are correct as one of the mods I downloaded from Nexus and one from AFK. So they are essentially both the same mod and it really does not matter which one I have installed. Your replies were appreciated, thank you.
  10. I was just checking Arthmoor's page on AFK to see if there were any updates to any of his mods I was using when I came across this. Arthmoor stated that you should use a certain version with the updated Steam version of SSE AE. I was using v4.2.9a with the GOG version of SSE AE and am now playing the Steam version of SSE AE and am using the same version of USSEP as I was using with GOG SSE AE. I downloaded USSEP from his page even though it had the same version number as the version I had and I now have two USSEP with the same version number but different downloads. To clarify, I am using NMM Community Edition and when you download the same version of a mod from file it will show that you have downloaded that mod but you will still only have the one version on your mod installation page. When I downloaded the USSEP from Arthmoor's page it showed I had two Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patches on my mod page. In other words NMM considered them as two different versions of the mod even though they have the same version number. Now I do not know whether I should go with the version I am using, which is the same one I used with the GOG version of SSE AE, or go with the one I just downloaded from AFK? I should add that when I download a mod that is bigger than a few mg I download it to my folder that holds mods for that game and then use "download from file" to add it to the NMM installation page and then install it. I started doing this some time ago when NMM often had problems with large mods that were downloaded directly to the mod installation page. Now I just do it automatically for any mods that are more than a few mg. So when I downloaded to my SSE AE folder it did not give me the duplicate file error.
  11. There is an uncapper for AE which I have used with both v1.6.640 and v1.6.659 that works the same as the Legendary uncapper as far as I know. The name of the mod is Skyrim Skill Uncapper-Skyrim Uncapper Beta for AE. I adjust it the same as I adjusted the Legendary version.although I really cannot tell if it will do what you want as I use "Dragonstone" which dramatically slows down the level up process. I do know that when I use the uncapper along with "Dragonstone" I am at level 2 after completing Bleak Falls Barrow and Dragon Rising. I do not know if that mod will do what you desire but the uncapper is certainly worth a look.
  12. Do you have Steam installed in C:/Program Files (86)? If so having to run some programs as an administrator is a common problem. If you do not have Steam installed there just ignore this.

You could run "verify integrity of game files" and then use "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Downgrade Patcher" also known as "Best of Both" to revert your game to the version you are playing. I believe that this would work. I cannot think of anything else to do if Dragonborn.esm has become corrupted. The only other thing I can think of is to reinstall your game, which would be a rather drastic solution. Have you tried to launch your game? Maybe that is a false negative from LOOT, although that does not seem very likely, basically grasping at straws. I have never used "Verify" on SSE AE so I do not know what version of SkyrimSE.exe it installs. If it installs the version you are playing you do not have a problem as it does not touch your mods or load order.
  14. Thank you for your reply. I am glad to know it wasn't just me. In this case I continue up the path and the terrain returns to normal before I get to Ivarstead. When I look back the terrain is normal, also if later I fast travel to Darkwater Overhang the terrain is normal.

  16. I really did not know where to post this as it happens in every version of Skyrim I have played, from Legendary on up. It is more a nuisance than anything game breaking. I am just curious as to whether anyone has an explanation for the phenomenon? On my way to Ivarstead from Whiterun I take the trail going up the mountain that goes by Darkwater Overhang. Every time, no matter what version of Skyrim I am playing just a little ways after Darkwater Overhang the ground loses its texture, at least that is the only way I can describe it; it just goes a flat grey. This continues for about five or six hundred yards maybe and then everything returns to normal before I get to Ivarstead. As far as I know it has no other effect on the game. Anyone else have any effect that crosses different versions of Skyrim and do they have any idea what causes it? By all versions I mean 1.9.32, 1.6.353, 1.6.640 and 1.6.659.
  17. I have been playing for over six hours real time now with no problems at all, it looks like installing FISS did the trick, although I have no idea why. If anyone has a suggestion as to why I would be interested.
  18. If you are not using a mod manager you certainly should be, especially as you are new to modding. Having said that if you want to install mods manually one of the first tools you will need is 7-Zip to extract the files from a zip or rar file. Then you would manually download the file to a folder of your choice. Right click on the file and select 7-Zip then Extract Here go to where you want to extract the file which would depend on what game you are playing. If you are playing Skyrim SSE, which I assume you are as this is the SSE forum you would extract the file to wherever your game is located for instance it could be C:/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/Data.. The Data folder is where all the mods for that game is located. I would like to emphasize that you should be using a mod manager. The instructions I gave will work with mods that have a simple .esp however there are many mods, like texture and skse plugin mods which would involve a greater knowledge of mods to install manually. Even experienced modders use a mod manager, for good reason.
  19. My game started crashing again and the last time it crashed when I tried to launch it I got a black screen, I could not load my game. In desperation I went through the log and noticed that a couple of times it looked for FISS but could not find it. I did not have FISS installed as the last I heard the .dll had not been updated for v1.6.659. I went online to see if there had been a way to install FISS for 1.6.659 and found that there had been. You just had to download and install the 1.6.640 version then go to github and download the updated .dll overwrite the 1.6.640 .dll with the one from github. After I did this my game launched normally. Whether this solved my problem it is too early to tell as I could only play for about ten minutes before I had to shut down due to thunder storms in my area. Hopefully the problem was I had installed a mod which required FISS and that was my problem. However neither LOOT nor xEdit showed any mod missing FISS and they are usually pretty good about catching missing mod dependencies. I will get back after playing for some time and report whether this fixed my crashing.

  21. Thank you for your reply scorp10, I will give that crash logger a shot. On a side note I just saw a new mod called "Papyrus VM" which interested me as when I check my Papyrus log after exiting out of SSE AE normally the last four lines are; VM is freezing VM is frozen Saving Game VM is thawing Any idea whether this is a normal function of Papyrus to use that script?
  22. have you thought of using ENB FXAA SweetFX Remover? Although you would have to reinstall your ENB after doing so.
  23. Thank you for your reply IsharaMeradin, you have corrected some of my assumptions which were incorrect. I had always assumed that the GOG version was done by GOG not Bethesda. In other words I thought that GOG made the changes to SkyrimSE.exe not Bethesda. I have looked at those papyrus logs from both when my game crashed and when I exited out of the game and have seen no difference that I could understand. I have seen that achievement line a few times in the log file and you are undoubtedly right in your conclusion about those statements. I had always read in other posts that the papyrus log was not a crash log and that seems to be correct. I could see no difference in the log from when it was generated after a crash or when it was generated after I exited out of the game normally. That is not to say that there is not a clue in those logs, it may be that I do not have the knowledge to understand them. This is rather a disappointment to me as when I googled "Skyrim crash logger" the majority of links that came up were to enable the papyrus log in Skyrim.ini. Are you aware of any crash log mods the deal specifically with Skyrim crashes? Once again, thank you for your replies.
  24. The problem is I am playing v1.6.659 the GOG version so as far as I know Steam has nothing to do with my game. This is what puzzled me about the whole achievement thing. Are achievements hard coded into SkyrimSE.exe or Update.esm?
  25. The game just restarted my computer. I never had that happen to me before. I had papyrus log enabled in Skyrim.ini so I got a log. The last thing in that log was "Info: *Achievement 39 awarded - a winner is you!* As I do not have an achievement mod or any mod that would award achievements as far as I know does anyone know where that came from?
