I just purchased a new computer and after installing Windows 10 in lieu of Windows 11, the OS from hell,I have started downloading and installing mods for SSE AE GOG version 1.6.1179. The reason I mentioned installing Windows 10 after the computer coming with Windows 11 is that it is impossible to completely remove Windows 11 from your computer so that might have something to do with this. Anyway, i noticed in my D:\users folder a bunch of dll files for SharpDX, Easy Hook, and Easy Load which I have not downloaded to that folder. Does anyone know where those files are meant to be or if it is safe to delete them. There are also some from Command Utilities and Dynamic Data. I do not know whether those are duplicate files from whatever or if they got installed in my D:\users folder by mistake. There really are a lot of them, over twenty and I would like to know where they came from and where they are supposed to go. I do not want to just delete them as I am afraid that might completely FUBAR some application.

Which mod adds "Birna's Missing Shipment" Quest?
wfandrews replied to Hluill's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
If you ask Birna if she ever had a bad deal she will say yes and the conversation will then continue to the quest "Yngols Barrow" with the coral claw. If you google "Birna" and "Witerhold" then click on the uesp link it will explain how the quest starts. -
Which mod adds "Birna's Missing Shipment" Quest?
wfandrews replied to Hluill's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Are you talking about the "Yngols Barrow" quest, in which you get the Coral Dragons Claw? If you are it is a generic quest and is not added by a mod. I would see if there is a patch for "The Great City of Winterhold" or "Immersive Citizens," if not you may just have either give up on the quest or the mod or mods. Personally I would uninstall "Immersive Citizens" as I gave up on because for me it was quite buggy., continually making NPC's hostile.; that is just a personal opinion though and other people might enjoy the mod and have no problems with it. -
I will give that a try. Unfortunately I am beginning to think that this is a problem related to my OS and not really related to the game itself or anything related to the game. I have been having problems lately with my OS, which is Windows 10 and have been thinking about re-installing it. I think that is what I will do and see if that fixes the problem. I appreciate your replies and thank you for them. I will get back after re-installing my OS and installing my game again.

Thank you Leonidas, I have had that page bookmarked for a few years now. The mods I have loaded are mods that I have used in start of every game I play. The following are the mods I am using. You will notice the odd mods, these are Skyrim workshop mods that are simple plugins that I have used in every version of TESV since 2012; I have been playing this game since 2011. They are basically cheat mods. The mods that did load are mods that have no plug ins, they are SSE Engine Fixes Skyrim Skill Uncapper More Cursory Cursor Main Font Replacer Address Library for SKSE Plugins. If you enter with Hadvar you can tell if USSEP loaded because the table will be beside the desk, if it is in front of the desk USSEP has not loaded.

Starting the game without skse will load those mods which do not depend on skse to function. As I said in my second paragraph I was asked if I wanted to activate those files. When I said "yes" all those files were activated and I could play the game with no problem. When I start the game without skse the only mod that will not load is SkyUI which does depend on skse to function. If I was missing a master the game would probably not launch at all. I do not know what mod manager you are using but the one I am using NMM CE would just turn that plugin red and if you hovered over it it would tell you what master it is missing, as would LOOT. I have never heard of a mod manager doing what you describe. Thanks for the effort though.

I am playing the GOG version of SSE AE 1.6.1179 with skse 2.02.06 and just started a new game. I had started the game from the desktop icon that is created when you install this version from the GOG installation files, I do not use Galaxy. After I had created the ini files I installed skse and a few more mods to start the game from the opening sequence so as to play thru to when you exit the cave. Some of the files were esp files such as USSEP. When I started the game with skse all the esp files were deactivated. I got a message that those esp's were deactivated and whether I wanted to activate them. I know that USSEP is an esm file but is loaded in the load order as esp. I experimented a little and found that if I started the game from the desktop icon without skse that the files were activated. If I started the game thru skse the esp files were deactivated. When I activated them with the in-game menu they stayed activated but any mods that I installed afterwards with an esp were deactivated when I launched the game with skse. I have never had this happen before and I am one of those people who is constantly starting a new game. Does anyone know the cause of this and what I can do about it?

Game doesnt start
wfandrews replied to MakingSkyrimjustrim's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
I would also use New Vegas Tick Fix, YUP, and the Unofficial Patch NVSE Plus. Google "Viva Las Vegas" for a look at what Mods many people consider essential for a stable FNV game. That does not mean you must follow what he says exactly but it will give you a general idea of what you need for a stable base game. -
I have never cleaned any of my FO3 mads and my game runs without CTD's or crashes. Actually FO3 probably runs the smoothest of any of my Bethesda games. My load order follows and none of those mods have been cleaned, including the DLC's. If you play TTW you will be told not to clean the FO3 esm's.

I have switched from SSE AE GOG to the updated version a few times so it is possible that all files did not delete properly. What puzzles me is that I did not know that LOTD had a fossil file that spawned Darnette Lauvin. You are probably correct as when I switched versions to play the updated version I would only delete the files like SSE Engine Fixes which were updated for the 1.6.1170 or better and install the updated version, I would leave the rest of the files which run on both versions without a problem I will continue with this game unless I start running problems like CTD's or crashes, if I do I will uninstall everything including the game then reinstall the game and all my mods. Thank you for your reply.

I am playing SSE AE GOG 1.6.1179.0 and started a new game after installing the updated versions of LOTD and LOTD The Curators Companion and updated files associated with those two mods. When I got to the Fossil Digsite Camp there were two Darnette Lauvin's there. One from LOTD and another from Fossilyum, I just interacted with one and kept on playing. After playing for a couple more hours I went back to the Fossil Digsite Camp and there was only the Darnette Lauvin from Fossilyum there. I feel like I must be missing a patch but I have the updated version of LOTD Patches Official and the updated version of The Curators Companion. Before I started playing this game I ran LOOT, SSEEdit.exe and Wrye Bash and encountered no errors. If anyone has any ideas as to what is happening I will take any advice you can give me. I can give you my load order but I do not think that is relevant as I believe the only two mods that are involved are LOTD and the Curators Companion.. In the interest of full disclosure I do consolidate all the LOTD_TCC patches before running Wrye Bash, also almost all the LOTD_TCC patches show that the masters are out of order when I run Wrye Bash. This has only happened since I installed the updated Curators Companion; as I have 64 LOTD_TCC patches I just left them as is. If you think that would make a difference I could correct that in SSEEdit but that would be a long and tedious process unless there is a process to consolidate and run sort masters on a number of files at the same time. If anyone knows how to do that please tell me. Any help would be appreciated.

Steam Anniversary Edition stalls during Install

Go to silverlock.org and download the version of skse that is specific to your game. -
I agree.

Borghak the Steel Heart is missing from the game.
wfandrews replied to RomulusAugustulus's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
It is my bad for not knowing that the 0's could be be skipped in the console for ref. and base ID's. I will blame my mistaking the B for an 8 on failing eyesight of an old geezer. Thank you for correcting me. -
Borghak the Steel Heart is missing from the game.
wfandrews replied to RomulusAugustulus's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Pretty sure in console command for a character or an item the ref or base id should be eight characters. The Reference id for Borghat is 00058688 the Base is 00019959. As far as I know 000 at the start of an additem is Skyrim.esm. For instance the ref id for Auryen Morales in my game is 13124CFE, 13 being the location of the file LOTD in my load order. My additem for Thornblade is xx6102E7, xx being the location of More Interesting Loot in my load order. -
TCC has been working fine since it was updated a couple of days ago. Wrye Bash still shows that just about all the LOTD_TCC files need their Masters sorted. That is over 60 files; as of now I am not sorting Masters on those files. I will just leave them as is and see what difference, if any, that makes. Is there a consensus on whether you should sort Masters on files that Wrye Bash says need it, or is it like cleaning files some say you should others say you don't have to?
-
Yes I was using SSE Engine Fixes 6.2. The funny thing was that when I used Wrye Bash all of the LOTD_TCC patches showed that the masters were out of order. I don't believe that they were ESP-FE files but I could be wrong. I went to xEdit and sorted those files to order, a tedious process as there are over sixty of them but it made no difference. There was no message, TCC just did not load, although one time when used the "restart MCM " it worked partially but would not add anything to LOTD. I should say that TCC did not function in game it did load in the MCM. I am sorry but that is as specific as I can get. When I play with the old TCC the first time in a new game there are always a few files whose masters are out of order. In LOTD_TCC the Immersive Armor and Immersive Weapons , Hall of Wonders and Staves patches masters are always out of order but as I noted that is easy enough to fix when it is just a few files. In TCC 7.0.1 all the LOTD_TCC masters are out of order except for a few. I might install Skyrim SSE AE 1.6.1179 again and not use the updated LOTD and TCC mods but use the old mods. As I recall the old mods worked fine in that version but there was some reason I went back to the original SSE AE but I cannot remember what that was.. You cannot use the updated LOTD and TCC in the old Skyrim SSE AE because that version does not have the ResourcePack.esl which is needed for the updated LOTD.
-
I started a new game with the updated LOTD and Curators Companion but was unable to play it. All the LOTD_.TCC patches installed as esps not esls. I have no idea why. They were LOTD 6.2.0 and The Curators Companion 7.0.1. playing with the GOG version of SSE AE 1.6.1179.0. Subsequently the Curators Companion would not load. That adds another sixty some esps to my load order which may have put me over the limit. Any help would be appreciated.

Problem with radiant quests and dungeon mods -- solution ?
wfandrews replied to csbx's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
It is not so much the level that concerns me but the locations. Where I was sent by The radiant quest "Trouble in Skyrim" was "Harald's Haunt" in Lake Ilinata. You needed a key to enter, which I assume was provided by Roderick Redbeard when he gave you that quest. I used the console to unlock the entrance otherwise I would have been unable to complete the quest and would have needed to go back to a save before I was given the quest by Farkas. -
Problem with radiant quests and dungeon mods -- solution ?
wfandrews replied to csbx's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
I also would like an answer to that question. Just recently I was sent by Farkas to a location for Trouble in Skyrim to kill the leader of a dungeon that was added as a radiant quest by Roderick Redbeard. This was the first radiant Companion quest, I believe. Roderick Redbeard does not even appear until after you become the Harbinger of the Companions. -
correcting old form to 44 using SSE Edit
wfandrews replied to Murinscurse's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Is the CK only available thru Steam? -
You could go to silverlock.org and see if you can find an answer to your question there.

Thank you for your replies, I found an answer to my problem. I started a new game with the only major difference being that I installed Noble Skyrim Full Pack Performance Edition, whereas before I had used the 2k edition. Surprisingly this dropped my GPU max temp about 10 C degrees. I did not think texture files would have such a demand on ones GPU. I have a GeForce 2070 with 8 gig of vram so maybe something else is going on, Whatever, I am good to go right now and am saving money to upgrade my ram and GPU in the near future.

When you post on a forum at the top of the page you will see a bunch of thumbnails. Click on the one that looks like an eye, it will say "Spoiler", paste your list there. If you use LOOT under "Game" you will see "Copy Load Order" click on that and then paste that in your Spoiler.

I am running around 60 or 70 average. It does hit 81 max. Is the average what I should rely on or should I worry about the occasional max?
