  1. Olnorton, my shortcut window is distinctly different than yours. For instance my Target Location is Skyrim Anniversary Edition, my Start in is D:\Skyrim Anniversary Edition. Your Start in and Target Location both point to SSEEdit while mine point to where SSEEdit is installed. Where do you have SSEEdit installed? I have SSEEdit installed in my game folder where SkyrimSE.exe is . This is where I have installed xEdit in all my other games. My Target is "D:\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\SSEEdit.exe"
  2. No, I am substituting "admin" for my name, which is what I named my computer when I set it up. Yes, the plugin.txt is there. All those paths are correct. I must be doing something else wrong because it always comes back to the same window telling me it could not find my Skyrim.ini. The path to my ini is correct.
  3. Your UAC treats Program Files and Program Files (x86) the same. The difference between the two is that in general Windows puts 32 bit programs in Program Files (x86) and 64 bit programs in Program Files. That has been recommended for the last ten years or so but it is nice to be reminded as those new to Steam might not know that. Steam was installed in Program Files (x86) by default when I first created an account with it for FNV. You had to install Steam with Bethini in order to specify where to install Steam, if you installed it through the Steam site it was installed in Program Files (x86) automatically.
  4. Thank you both very much, this was exactly what I was looking for. Well I got Wrye Bash 311 downloaded and it works fine. Now I want to go to SSEEdit to sort masters for some of my mods. Unfortunately I tried everything in both properties and have no idea what the Target field is, there is nothing by that name, I tried after SSEEdit.exe but got that old message that you cannot use certain characters in a file name. Hate to keep bugging you but could you tell me what the Target field is under? I believe I am almost there. I was using SSEEdit.exe instead of the shortcut. Anyway I added what I was supposed to add but it still did not work. I believe the problem was in the syntax I was using, mainly the spacing. This is the way I added the commands I am going to type in space for when I used a space, I will just do the first command. "D:\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\SSEEdit.exe" space P space C:\users\admin\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\plugins.txt space D space D:\Skyrim Anniversary Edition space I space C:\users\admin\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Skyrim.ini I also tried it without the space between P and C and D and D and I and C nothing worked. Could it be that I have GOG installed on a different drive. It should not as I have FNV GOG and Oblivion GOG and Fallout 3 GOG all installed on my D: drive and xEdit works for them.
  5. I guess I am an idiot but I do not know where the command line in SSEEdit is. I understand that what parameters I should add D I and P but I do not know how to get to the command lines where I should add them. I also am not sure exactly whether I should keep quotation marks and-. For instance should my command line look like this: -D:"D:\Skyrim Anniversary Edition\Data" -I:"D\users\admin\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Skyrim.ini" and so on? I would like to use xEdit to create a merged patch as Wry Bash is not usable with the GOG version of SSE as far as I know. When I open SSEEdit I get a window with parameters all of which have the right paths except for the path for Skyrim.ini. That D path above is the same one that shows where my data is in that window that opens when I launch SSEEdit.
  6. After creating the command lines in the SSEEditexe shortcut would one delete the original SSEEdit.exe so that the game would use the altered SSEEdit.exe shortcut? Tried it, when I try to enter the parameters I get a message that tells me that a file name cannot contain any of the following characters, : being among them.
  7. This is the Legendary forum, you should post on the Special Edition Forum. When you do be sure to mention what mod manager you are using and the version of SSE you have.. At the moment I believe there are four or five versions of SSE, if you count the GOG version. If it is also happening with Fallout 4 it is more likely to be a problem with your mod manager.
  8. Your fps is probably capped at 60fps, as it should be. This has nothing to do with what your system can handle.
  9. Thanks showler, I was sort of hoping that those mods on the Skse plugin status page with a dll that were compatible for v1.6.640 would be compatible with v1.6.659.
  10. I was just wondering if all the mods that are compatible with SSE AE v1.6.640 be compatible with SSE AE GOG v1.6.659?
  11. That was the problem. I am sorry to have bothered you guys, I should have thought of that first thing. Thank you.
  12. I believe I know what happened I have NMM installed under program files in my C: drive. When I try to associate downloads with Nexus I am told that my nxm url association has been removed by some other process and I have to run NMM as an administrator. I believe my UAC has decided to consider NMM as an interference or whatever. I am going to move it and see what happens. Sort of strange as I have had NMM installed there for around ten years. Still, I keep reminding myself that I do use Windows as an OS. I will post the results if that worked. Thank you for your replies.
  13. I have been downloading mods from Nexus for some years with no problem. A couple of days ago I tried to download a mod using the download with manager button and got this message: "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app, or if one is already installed, create an association in the default Apps Setting page." I thought it was a OS problem and queried on the Microsoft web site. The reply I received was that in needed to install a Nexus app. Why would this happen all of a sudden and what is this Nexus app they are referring to? I got around it by downloading manually and then installing with the download from file option; I would rather take one action instead of two to accomplish the same result though.
  14. You are right I clicked on load order in plugins and it showed the correct load order. I downloaded Atlas Map Markers and Ice Penguins World Map from Nexus after removing them from Mods. When I downloaded them they were automatically installed and activated. Is that the default behavior for Vortex? If so I really dislike it. Anyway when they were installed I did not get any options to choose, which I should have with both mods. When I launched the game once again no mods activated. In profiles on my profile it has mods enabled 15. It is counting the mods that only have skse plugins and my texture mod, Skyrim Realistic Overhaul which has 4 parts, SRO 1, SRO 2, and SRO 3 plus the update. Only the skse plugins loaded. I appreciate the help you have given me Showler but I am thru messing with this. It is back to Steam SSE AE until DuskDweller gets off his tookus and updates NMM Community Edition, which he has promised to do for a few weeks now. Once again thank you, I am outta here.
  15. I have auto sort enabled. How do I select a column? Where do I find the actual load order? I have run LOOT when Vortex was running. Which column should I select to show the load order that the game will use when it launches? I really appreciate your help. I am editing this as I found the column you were referring to, at least I believe that is it. On it I have checked: Flags Load Order Mod Index Group Dependencies I think that is the default settings as this is the first time I have looked at them. There are two other categories above these, Mod and Mod Category which are unchecked.
  16. I appreciate the replies, however I still have no idea why only my skse plugin mods are loading when I launch my game. From what I have read on posts Vortex automatically sorts the mod load order. This is certainly not reflected on the plugins page. I played SSE AE GOG version for quite a few hours after I installed it, with no mods of course, and LOOT recognized it then so I can say that if the plugin page on Vortex is supposed to be the load order something is definitely wrong. I have LOOT messages inline checked and I do get a message for SkyUI so I know that LOOT is connected, however clicking on sort now does nothing. I hope this is not another case of the tool having to be on the same drive as Vortex for things to run properly. Any advice would be appreciated.
  17. Both USSEP and SkyUI SE are enabled in my plugins tab. Stay at the System Page works with both 1.6.353 and 1.6.659, which is the version I am currently trying to get Vortex to load my esp with. The way I can tell is that before I enable that mod when I hit esc I do not go to the sysyem page, after I install and enable that mod when I hit esc it opens on the System page. I can tell USSEP did not load because when you enter Helgen keep with Hadvar directly in front of you is a cabinet and a table, if the table is beside the cabinet then USSEP is loaded, if the table is in front of the cabinet then USSEP did not load. That is one of the bugs that USSEP fixes. On a side note how do I get my plugins to show a correct order. Right now the page shows my cc content first, then my esm then my esp. Seems to me it should go my esm then cc then plugins.
  18. What the topic said. My SKSE plugins load when I launch the game but the esp does not. I only have two mods installed that create an esp, USEEP and SKYUI. When I create a new game I just install those until I emerge from the Helgen cave and then save a few times and start to load my mods on that save. I have only gotten as far as entering Helgen keep with Hadvar and saw that USEEP had not loaded so just stopped there as I figured it was silly to keep going if my mods were not loading. My skse plugins like More Cursory Cursor and Stay at the System Page work fine.
  19. I am trying to install Vortex and am trying to follow the guide on this forum. My problem is that my Vortex does not correspond to the Vortex in the guide. For instance in the guide in "Dashboard" it goes "Introduction Video", "Handle Nexus Links", "Profile Management" etc. In my Vortex in "Dashboard" it goes "Introduction Video", "Profile Management", there is no "Handle Nexus Links" and there are other discrepancies. Also it has everything on C:, my C: drive would quickly fill up if all my mods were installed on that drive. I need to have my mods installed on my D: drive. That is where I installed Vortex. I was playing SSE AE GOG with no mods and launching the game with skse64 2.02.03 with no problem. After installing and launching Vortex I can no longer launch that game. This is undoubtedly because of something I did in setting up Vortex and not because of Vortex. I will describe how I set up Vortex and hopefully someone can tell me what I have done wrong. On Dashboard I have Profile Management Yes, on Downloads are on drive C:\ and the path is C:\Users\Bill\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG, on Mods are staged on Drive D:\ and the path is D:\Vortex Mods\(game). Under Mods i have Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. SkyUI-5-2-SE and Skyrim Script Extender 64 (SKSE64) all enabled. Under Games it says in the little window Skyrim Special Edition and under that 3 active mods. Under Settings see Dashboard mod staging folder. Under plugins everything is there. except skse of course. Under Downloads it just shows some kind of graph. I have two new files in Documents>My Games>Skyrim Special Edition GOG and they are Skyrim-Copy.ini and SkyrimPrefs-Copy.ini.. All My ini files are in Copy ini in Skyrin.ini there is "using ini: C:\Users\Bill\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition GOG\Skyrim.ini, which is rather weird as it says it is using itself. Prefs.ini and Prefs Copy ini both have all the files. I don't think those are called files but I do not know what to call them, arguments maybe. Anyway that is my Vortex at the moment. When I try to launch my game thru skse or thru Vortex It CTDs after I try to load either a save game or a New game. I am probably doing something wrong, I just do not know what. I am editing this on 10/29/2022. I have no idea what happened as I have done nothing at all but my game will now launch from Vortex. Why on earth would a mod manager allow you to have two versions of the same mod installed at the same time?
  20. You may want to post this on the Steam "Hardware and Operating Systems" forum. They have some very knowledgeable people on that forum who would be glad to help.
  21. Try keeping Wearable Lanterns and deleting the StorageUtil.dll instead. If I remember right that is what I did. I am using NMM CE so I don't know if that will make a difference.
  22. That version of skse64 will also work for the GOG version.
  23. At a guess I would say there are some mods in that pack that conflict with the GOG version of SSE AE. I would run LOOT which will probably make you aware of any conflicts. I believe Vortex should also do the same although as I have never used Vortex I am not sure. Might want to post your question on the Vortex forum.
  24. You are right, that statement would have been more accurate.
