  1. Actually, went to an earlier save and did "Back in your Backyard" before "Restoring Hope" and it worked as it should have. It also gave 2 history points for saving the men checked with the console command show "96bcd".nOpenness. I got the Boone's history booted for 2, Back in your Backyard for 2 and I put a spell on you for 1.
  2. "If the player manages to convince the BoS to help the NCR, you have to wonder what happens after the end of Fallout New Vegas. Sure they made a truce, but everyone at Hidden Valley had family, friends, and loved ones killed by the NCR. There is so much hate for the NCR at Hidden Valley that I can't picture any truce lasting for a long time. " There are no perfect groups. What can be learned is that groups (Tribes) have to be given a chance to change. Endless fighting is how Caesar was able to get in. NCR had its problems with clueless individuals as well like Thomas Hildern, Fantastic and a few others. What BOS has is technical knowledge, and they can keep I 15 safe. They just need to learn how to work with others. As for the future, there maybe another army that wants to take on the NCR. Building a new relationship can help them because they were spread too thin.
  3. That didn't work. All towers were cleared. ------------------------------------- Per Wiki: "Due to the amount of bugs with Ranger Milo, it's recommended that the Courier assaults Nelson and rescues the hostages before they speak to Ranger Milo. Once the Courier is finished with the mission, they can head back up to the encampment and Milo will run to them and comment on how Nelson was taken. The Courier will still get the experience and NCR fame for doing the mission beforehand." ------------------------------------------ It may make sense to do this mission before Restore Hope. Wiki has some errors. Like this found in Wiki Boone history points: Talking to Bitter-Root at Camp McCarran about his history: +1 I can confirm that the above does NOT provide a history point. I used command show "96bcd".nOpenness and none was awarded. I can confirm the quest booted free powder gang hostage gives 2 with Boone there.
  4. The quest won't end unless you shoot them. "Back in Your Own Backyard is a side quest in Fallout: New Vegas. Notes This quest provides'history' with Boone (a requirement for his side quest). The player character will gain one'point' if they kill the hostages, and two'points' if they rescue them." I rescued Nelson. I released the men and the quest won't finish. There is no option to say I rescued the men. Milo just stands by the hill.
  5. Has anyone ever fixed this quest yet? If you save Nelson, there is no reason for this quest and it won't finish if you just cut down the men from the cross. It would be great if someone ended this quest if Nelson was saved.
  6. It is not about liking them. I never played Fallout 3. There is no real reason to kill them. You can get them to work with the NCR. Actually, I find it strange that so many people want to kill them.
  7. "We know that the Institute has various means of keeping tabs on the outside world. A couple of them have been mentioned lately, but I kinda wanted to expand on that." Well, that way they knew when the surface dwellers were planning an attack. They were afraid of the surface dwellers. If you talk to your son, he does mention the Institute made plenty of mistakes by counting on Kellogg too much. You can change that as a Director. At the end of the game if you side with the Institute, Synths will openly visit Diamond City.
  8. your comment: "Can you take him after liberating sanctuary" Make sure to join the Minutemen at the museum after killing the Death claw. The reason I say this is because sometimes he gets bugged, and doesn't switch over to companion. If the bug happens, he will continuously give you more quest whenever clicked, but the option wheel never shows up. Also note Piper has a bug as well. If you rescues Nick before the "Story of the Century" is completed, then you get the companion wheel but no option to finish the story.
  9. your comment: "For aging, I mostly understood it like, they don't age like humans. Again, a reasonable assumtion imo to say that the Institute at least tried to make synth cells technically immortal. Like, prevent their telomeres from shortening and add every kind of tumor prevention which they could think of." No. It clearly states they don't age. With limited resources it made sense to build them. Resources are extremely limited in this new world. Father built one synth child to setup Kellogg. All other Gen 3 were made adults with very little needs.
  10. your comment: Then the question becomes: Is it they don't NEED to, and are unable? Or, they don't need to, but can when circumstances require it? Good question.
  11. your comment: "As for not reproducing, I'd say, the Institute probably could make it work, but didn't on purpose. However, such children would be 100% human. The questions are, can a female synth body even do the necessary changes for a full pregnancy without breaking (synths can't put on weight if they eat too much sweets either), and, are the genetic tweaks to human tissue which synths a built from safe to be put into a human embryo?" Remember they ALL carry your son's DNA. Inbreeding is a clear NO NO.
  12. Your comment: "âWait what. Don't need to eat? I can't remember ever hearding/reading that, where do you have this from?" The game states it clearly. Play the Institute quest line and ask question. "Third generation synthetics are unlike humans and some liberated synths do not consider themselves human at all. The reasons for this are multiple, chief among them is the assembly process. According to Max Loken, synths do not require sleep at all to function properly, are completely immune to disease and don't require the intake of food or water to generate energy for their bodies certainly contribute." There is no mistake of what you see and hear in the Institute. Just visit the robot lab. Check out youtube video : Fallout 4 (PS4) - Synth Shaun Can't Grow Old So no they are not Human or fully organic. They were never born babies, can't reproduce, and don't grow old.
  13. After rescuing, and in Sanctuary all Preston does is continuously give you quest nonstop. Turned in first step and there was NO dialogue wheel just click and hear more settlements need your help like every-time you click on him. I got three quest in a row before I just gave up and went to an earlier save. He has to be the buggiest character in-game.
  14. Excellent! I hate the stupid settlement quest. It is nonstop and boring.
  15. Sorry, but the story is so full of holes. Organics regenerate tissue and age. According to the Institute the following is true: 1. Gen3 doesn't need to sleep. 2. Gen3 doesn't need to eat. 3. Gen3 doesn't age. With the above, Gen3 is not classified as organic species. "The Gen 3 synths are the perfect workforce because they don’t need to eat or sleep, they are as capable as regular laborers (if not more), they don't catch diseases (great for cramped quarters), and the Institute can produce them as needed almost instantly. " The story is basically lame, and Gen3 wouldn't even be considered organic species since it doesn't need to eat or sleep which the question must be asked: " How does it regenerate tissue?" They also can't reproduce organically for the simple reason of not being able to regenerate tissue organically.
  16. I may have solved the problem. I recently added this mod: Full Dialogue Interface When I removed it with Vortex the problem went away. My guess is that this mod can be used if you manually install it carefully. Something about string folder there is a post I saw when I read further down. It is not an auto download type file.
  17. I received a lookup failed on the Vault 111 suit handed to me in the beginning of the game. Does anyone know why that would happen?
  18. So I know and have done the process from Skyrim Legacy to Skyrim Se many times. I have a situation where I lost my Skyrim Legacy of a mod I created. Have the original meshes and textures but I'm missing the esp and I don't have a backup of it. I do have an skyrim se converted version. Is there a reason I can't take my se version esp of it and use it to rebuild my legacy version of it??
  19. I have a file I made that is an ESP that acts like an ESM using SEEdit to change the flag to esm. It works great. I don't see a downside in that I can modify the file easily when I want to. Is there any downside in doing this using Vortex? I haven't transferred all my mods yet. Just wanted to know if there were any concerns doing this with Vortex? I'm assuming it will see the dependencies just like NMM.
  20. Maybe a video card processing issue. How many texture mods and mods are you running?
  21. In the Creation Kit there is a large Collision Navcut Box before the kids room. It makes sense that this box would be active initially before buying the kid's room or tied to the child disable decorate xmarker. Oddly it is NOT tied ,parent enable, to any decor marker and it is initially disable. This doesn't make sense???? Does anyone know why it was made this way in the default game with Healthfire DLC loaded.
