  1. Use both left + right mouse at the same time. It looks like 3-4 hits in 3rd person, looks like 5 hits in 1st.
  2. For each major city with a purchasable house, I believe you need to complete at least one mission in order to gain favor of townspeople, then you are allowed to purchase a house from the Steward (the Jarl's assistant). Usually people buy the house in Whiterun first. In that case, there's a fast travel map marker, Dragonsreach, that takes you right to the keep. (there are similar markers for all the major keeps in the major cities) The people you need to talk to will be in there.
  3. I've far too many books collected until now, to store them all in the available bookshelfs (main room & in the small room where the alchemy table is available), i need bigger bookshelfs (bigger ones and more of them...) :geek: I would need something like the Winterhold College's library to hold all mine.
  4. I DON'T CLAIM TO BE THE BEST BLACKSMITH IN WHITERUN. I AM THE DRAGONBORN AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE STORE ON TAMRIEL.
  5. I think they improved quite a bit on the females going from Oblivion to Skyrim. They were pretty butt-fugly in Obliv, and they had no figure. I don't think this is necessarily a movement toward 'being more like a guy', it's just making them more realistic characters. A girl in a bikini with no muscles isn't going to make it very far in a tomb.
  6. Here's another thread concerning this: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/459124-whatd-you-do-in-markarth/ There's no real good way to get through that quest chain..
  7. http://www.merriam-webster.com/audio.php?file=respit01&word=respite&text=\%3Cspan%20class%3D%22unicode%22%3E%CB%88%3C%2Fspan%3Eres-p%C9%99t%20%3Cem%3Ealso%3C%2Fem%3E%20ri-%3Cspan%20class%3D%22unicode%22%3E%CB%88%3C%2Fspan%3Esp%C4%ABt%2C%20%3Cem%3EBritish%20usually%3C%2Fem%3E%20%3Cspan%20class%3D%22unicode%22%3E%CB%88%3C%2Fspan%3Eres-%3Cspan%20class%3D%22unicode%22%3E%CB%8C%3C%2Fspan%3Ep%C4%ABt\ According to m-w's vocal pronunciation, he's saying respite correctly. I love the arnold voice. I'll try to pay attention to that if I end up in Candlehearth soon.
  8. There are plenty of female Stormcloaks. The General's right-hand is female also. The argument against women not being warriors really doesn't apply here.
  9. This is the easiest example I can find of the issue on my end. I'm not sure if it's exactly the same for everyone else. http://i42.tinypic.com/24g3jgj.jpg
  10. Yea, I unloaded mine already. However, this is a pretty intriguing idea.
  11. My most evil is usually the quests pushing me in that direction..
  12. I gave my answer. I guess you missed it because you thought my post was too inflammatory? I never called the OP a sissy. It was a scenario. Thinking that he might RP as well gives a better explanation as to why he didn't understand why people don't necessarily fall in line with that thinking. Do me a favor and read my first post again objectively, without thinking I'm trying to be offensive, because I wasn't.
  13. I'd suggest saving a lot... I'm up to around 800 or so.
  14. Show? Right. I'm curious why this is brought up when I know so many who play female characters 'just don't care'. It's not a big deal at all to them. They're ordinary people. On some level it shows some insecurity asking about this. Though the OP didn't really phrase it in an offensive way.
  15. They were big Dwemers. They Dwemed a little too big.
  16. I think a lot of people who bring up this question are into RPing or imagining their character being themselves. (or just meathead jerks trying to look cool for some reason) For a lot of people, playing a character isn't anything like that; it's just a means to play the game. In that case, it could be seen as less sissy a guy playing a female character than a guy pretending he's someone else. Not trying to be insulting, that's just how I see it.
  17. The worst I've seen it is in my house in Whiterun. Near the fire, even on max shadows it has really ugly black lines on everything.
  18. After the first patch, it seems pretty solid to me except for two things. Hotkeys when dealing with both hands and sorting huge item lists. If these were addressed, I think I could easily put aside the rest of the issues as pretty minor. Nobody needs to mark every little thing as being a major f-up.. I think it's just a small handful of things that make it frustrating.
  19. Not necessarily. I've been hit with a normal swing followed by an instant kill immediately afterward. Dragons are balanced a bit differently.
  20. All of the guilds make you the leader way too quickly. You have one or two regular missions followed by a big mission and boom. You're the new boss. Feels way too fast. I think Oblivion had about 3x as many missions before you got to be the big cheese. Maybe they weren't as fancy, but it felt like there was progression.
  21. I got pretty bored of Oblivion after a few days. Same with Skyrim. The thing that added an extra year or two onto Oblivion was the modding community after the CS came out.
  22. By seeing, did you mean watching the movies with human actors with minimal makeup effects portraying elves as pointy-eared mysterious humans? Or reading the books and physical descriptions of Tolkien's wonderous and terrible elves? Those are two very different things. Historically in RL mythology, elves are more often small, fey, and distrustful of strangers (most like the Bosmer, I suppose). Many old drawings and carvings of elves show them with pointed teeth, oddly stretched features, claw-like pointy fingers, and other physical oddities. Storytellers like Tolkien are most responsible for our modern version of elves, and popular video games and movies with A-list actors have sexied up the image until elves became ultranoble superhumans. I guess some people see elves as a step-up from humanity, and want to raise them on a pedastal of human beauty. I'd rather let elves be elves - they have their own faces because they are their own distinct races. Not that I hold elves in such a high regard, but there're already plenty of ugly creatures to fill that gap. Ogres, trolls, orcs, goblins, gremlins, etc.
