  1. Heh, isn't 65 million China's standing army? Just joking of course.
  2. I've tried Gin, Tequilas, Whisky, Wine of many varieties, Beer, and other beverages in the sanctity of my home. I seriously do not see the problem with drinking alcohol under 18, or under 21 in that case. I drink very responsibly, however, so I don't do reckless things. My parents fully support me when I drink, and have taught me how to overcome situations involving intoxication. I'm not uneducated, and I'm not a rebel. I just enjoy taking a break from worrying about the state of our world, and my inability to do jack s*** about any of it. Hello there sir, how about a kudos for your trouble?
  3. Banned for a record number of bans per post. :/
  4. I do need more evidence other than conjecture, if that constitutes plenty of other reasons. Edit: 500 posts in almost 3 years! Mazel Tov!
  5. It's all about being a citizen of the YEW Nited States of Merica, really... The Cold War generation is still around you know. As for the wikipedia article, I was lazy. I rarely post to wikipedia. I realize that Finland has a huge need for a military, and a militia. Therefore, it was in their best interest to have a generational family value in the military. Soviets and everything... The problem there is that we have had that same history here in America. We've been at war quite a bit, and I'll be damned if my dad doesn't go on about his triumph in Vietnam, or his father's father's father's role in the Civil war. We've had a soviet threat too you know, but the government never cared to have any sort of militia against the Soviets. I can't really say why we are so different that Finland, Switzerland, Austria, or any of those nations who give some freedom of gun control. I can only spew conspiracy, and nobody wants to hear any of that really..... Needless to say we can still carry guns at THIS point, and use them against foreign invaders. I think?
  6. Moddability? I bought it for Xbox, and was sadly disappointed. Nearly sold it to gamestop for a quick buck. Though if it were highly moddable.... I don't remember there ever being a fable or fable 2 for P.C., so I don't think fable 3 will come out on P.C.

    Charity

NEWS UPDATE RELEVANT TO TOPIC! Komen G. for the 'wasting millions of donated money to destroy other 'non-profit' volunteer societies' cure! I died inside when I first heard of this on the Colbert Report. I thought it couldn't be true. Why would a charity sue another charity for trademark violation for something as silly as 'Cupcakes for the cure', or 'Race of the cure'? Charitable organizations are supposed to work together to find a cure, and now the hundreds I donated to Komen are being used to file a lawsuit on another charitable organization? I must know if any of you find this to be a travesty, because it has affected me to the core. I've lost respect for that charity in specific, and a little for all of them.
  8. Dual wielding with Vanilla Animations are done by 'Trickery'. Using a custom animation mesh you can easily make the offhand weapon attack during an animation. You could even script true offhand attacks like done in Deadly Reflex. As far as I know, if you can make an addition to the vanilla skeleton (Which has been done mind you, see Maximum Compatibility Skeleton or Better Bouncing Boobs if you're over 18) to have more bones attached to the skeleton then you can make attack animations/weapon drawing animations for that skeleton. because you have a modified skeleton, you can add bone heat and parent a new arm mesh to the skeleton specifically for Mr. Grievous. For the skilled modder, it's a hassle but possible with effort. Plenty of mods out there for proof. I will list them all if anyone cares.
  9. Wikipedia Link :( The Fins have something similar. In Finland military service is mandatory, and those who serve in the military for a number of months (six) get to keep their weapons. Some Finnish people have a small arsenal of weapons passed on from generation to generation. It's really quite amazing what other nations allow, and what my nation restricts. I have to walk on pins and needles just to own my firearm, and the police can confiscate it if they decide I shouldn't own one. That includes getting into a fistfight at a bar. Whatever at the least bit classifies you as slightly impulsive and they can remove your privilege to own a firearm. Oh, and by god don't use that gun to protect life, liberty, and property. Case point Cases like these are used by prosecutors to further gun restriction agendas. There are many examples of people defending themselves from druggies, robbers, and murderers, AND getting prosecuted. Will re-find them again if God wills it. ---- Europe is the birthplace of Liberty and Rights Activism, and there are many examples of the good that releasing the strictness of gun control would do. You could argue, though, that Switzerland and Finland are both smaller and more controlled environments. Therefore it's easier to give people more freedoms in gun control. America can't risk a Venezuelan, French, or Socialist Popular revolution in its own borders, so I guess taking the people's guns are the right thing to do. Sometimes I think people are secondary class citizens.... :(

    You sexists

The end of the second page, and most of the third page are completely off topic. I'm sure Lehcar was simply enraged, and had someone say some sort of sexist thing to her. When I was in nursing school, I was called gay several times by my peers. I was quite discouraged, because I was honestly working to become a nurse to help war vets. needless to say I'm a biology student now, and not a nursing student. Sexism is everywhere, and on both sides. It angers you when you hear about it, and it is everywhere. Women are last picks when it comes to everything labor-oriented, and the ratios between men and women social workers are favoring the latter. Men traditionally serve in the Military, and that has held for over five thousand years. Women traditionally serve as caretakers and nurses, and this too has stood the test of time. Change can't be sudden. You can't remove a vital support in a building and expect it to not come crashing down on you. The feminist movement is very recent, and everyone has to realize that change must take time. We are progressing rapidly, but this is the limit of the rate of progression. So there is no need for anger towards the OP for something that is otherwise a minor offense, and there is no need to be angry, OP. The struggle for supreme sexual 'equality' does not end today, and will never. Documentary of the psychology of the 'Calliton', take one: Observe as the Calliton sends mixed signals to the female of his species. At one end, he is supporting her. At another, he is attempting to dissuade her of pursuing dangerous activity. Scientists believe that this is an example of a 'Male Protector' that is commonly observed in Calliton society Fascinating. :teehee:
  11. From a Darwinian standpoint, I agree with Happy Pig. A species that would be even remotely capable of human intellect would need to be able to manipulate tools. However, from a Hollywood standpoint of Aliens, the little green men that have evolved into more diverse aliens are simply appealing to the viewer's imagination. Star Trek was a film created to tackle racial prejudice by exploring a future where not only people of different skin color and ethnic background coexisted without prejudice, but even different species of beings coexisted. It made humanizing aliens necessary to create that goal. Whereas the 1979 film 'Aliens' was created in order to scare and shock viewers, and you can see that those aliens were less than human in shape and intelligence. From a conspiracist's POV, I've seen documentaries that find some sort of evidence supporting that WE were born from aliens. Interpreting the bible from the side of someone with limited technology viewing particular aspects of alien life. Such as the case with the fall of angels (early alien spacecraft falling and burning through our atmosphere in the eyes of primitive man?), and the 'giants' that mated with humans in the bible (Superior alien race that somehow broke the genetic code problem with interspecies propagation, and created the first modern human?). I refuse to accept this theory as a catholic, but it still has a few believers out there. I personally hope our first contact with an alien species reveals that although they do not look similar to us. Variation is the spice of life... or intelligent life.
  12. In what position are we to change anything about any of the current administration. The most recent example of the gov't f****** us over just caused the gov't to centralize even more. The financial crisis allowed the government to direct the course of the manufacturers that were assisted by the bailout. I'd say for someone who supports lasseiz faire economics (GOP), it was a double f***. It's much more relaxing to fall down a deep pit blindfolded and upright, than directly facing the bottom head-first. Also less painful, although both are going to kill you. :( Source: Article on federal takeover of a company: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122156561931242905.html I personally think corporations are more corrupt then government... My logic is the following... The purpose of government is to protect its people, the purpose of corporations is to make money by any means possible. That's the ideology isn't it. I completely agree that it's government's 'purpose' is to protect people in the sense of democracy or limited monarchy. Monarchies, and other Dictatorship government types don't have to follow this rule. Like a corporation, those forms of government do not have to protect any interest other than those in power. Thank God the age of serfdom is in the past. On topic... It's kind of funny how people some how know all there is about their government despite the fact that the government hides everything from us. I have not yet analyzed this in detail, but because that secret government information is leaked at all means it could be done on purpose, accident, or true sabotage. Everything that is released information-wise seems to me to always be released after the fact, and because of this we are never able to stop the damage from happening. Do we even know the information leaked is correct? The media can buzz about a released document, and gain support from the masses even though the document may not even be real. Perhaps I should not have said 'The government should hide information from us so we can all be lead to slaughter', but instead I should have said 'The government should hide information from us so the people can find it and verify it, instead of the government releasing information that could be otherwise false. Really, the topic question is general. If it were 'Should the government not hide possibly true or false information from us', I anticipate hearing your thoughts about this point, Marh.

  14. As the cliché goes... fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Lesson learned, no?
  15. 1. Author just left. Happens all the time, and with good modders. Strangely took all work down. 2. Fallout's biped paths/skeleton are different yest similar to oblivions. He/She had to recreate both from scratch 3. About two months ago from this post. 4. Sadly no. The author did not want his/her works redistributed. I'm sure someone will post his/her work on the nexus somewhere eventually though. I guess I might release it one day. I have all updates archived on my comp. I'd die without his/her mods. I want to stay a member of the nexus right now though.
  16. He sounds like he cares... Which is a good quality in a man. Of course he does admit, 'It’s about the times when not only is it OK to steal my games, but, in fact, I get something out of it'. Our good friend Jeff Vogel sees the bigger picture. He sees pirated games as an opportunity to create interest in his game, but in a risky way profitable way if it works in his favor! You see, advertising games on the T.V. screen is costly. In fact, if you look at the cost of advertising, you'll see that for every commercial (30 seconds long) you will have to pay 400,000$ usd for that commercial. 400,000 / 50 = 8,000 games down the drain in advertisement. You most certainly have to play that commercial more than once too! (All of this is for high end spots on good T.V. programs that may cater to your customer.) Source: http://www.gaebler.com/National-TV-Spot-Ad-Costs.htm Knowing this, there are probably more than 8,000 pirates. However, you can assume that those pirates may end up buying the game. Just because someone pirates a game doesn't mean he/she does not feel guilty for pirating said game. Stay with me my conservative friends.... Vogel is basically using pirating as a form of essentially 'free AD space' if his games aren't total crap. It's a form of capitalism that uses the buyer's feelings in order to sell the game to him. Sort of like a morally leased game of some sort, or as a friend once told me, 'Demos with benefits'... You know Bethesda did something similar yet legal. They released TES Daggerfall for free. I'm sure they hooked a few new buyers to their series with this. I'm sure they suffered from all the lost profit too! at any rate I'm sure a pirate reading Vogel's statements will feel a sudden wave of guilt and buy the game they pirated...!
  17. I tend to distrust sources that have a Majority in its place because I feel that information can be tampered with. How can you agree with something that may or may not be there after all. Due to my inherent distrust of many statistics that have no real evidence, I find myself siding with the minority often because that minority may be the majority. I find this to be a debate that comes close to a debate about statistics, which of course is debatable in itself on whether truth of lie. thanks for listening.
  18. Never interested in that SA Drug Lord Might be innoncent, and got killed to cover up vital information about a US weapon deal. Remeber Iran.contra, Watergate, etc? Me living in Europe could be classified as "Revolutionary Commi" when I protest in front of my parliment. Many cases never see the light of the day, if we don´t care. I voted 3, I know a large amount of information about the workings of my government and the government of others. When I hear another bill restricting my right or giving the elite more rights on the T.V. or internet, I tend to mull about it for weeks. Information stresses me so much, especially information acquired about what happens behind the scenes. I really just want to forget about it all. It really is the feeling of being unable to enact vengeance on the wrongs brought upon people, because if you do you're a communist... If you protest you are unheard, or are heard and are put on a watch list. I'm sure I'm on a watchlist somewhere, and I do find it unnerving. Ignorance is my bliss, despite my lack of it.
  19. Of course I don't support Hollywood in politics, but due to our current system of government we have no real choice in the matter. Many stars are American citizens, and whether we like it or not they are allowed to express their opinion as are we. The sad part about their legal involvement with politics is that they have the resources to sway people to their side (Whether that side was fermented by a third party with money or not). Although Hollywood is an immoral cesspool of what is wrong with our society, it is a centerpiece in American society. It does both good and bad when it comes to politics (mostly bad mind you), but it is a source of information for the masses in one way or another. I find myself watching movies less and less as of late, and the ones I do are political documentaries. It gives me a chance to sift through the left wing and right wing agendas of each and measure their validity to other third party sources. Doesn't everyone do that? :D
  20. Disclaimer: The following is opinion. As a psychological component to support 2nd Amendment rights, I propose the entry of Mutually Assured Destruction to the conversation. Public order may increase by dissolving heavy gun control laws. According to the source posted Mutual assured destruction (MAD) is the doctrine of a situation in which any use of nuclear weapons by either of two opposing sides would result in the destruction of both the attacker and the defender'. I hear a lot of chatter in the earlier posts of this thread about mass murder between people if gun control laws were not in place, and I believe that MAD may have a personal psychology behind it as well as a restriction to nuclear war. If two people in a society which openly supports gun ownership have a conflict against each other, and knew or believed one another to carry such weapons, there would be a reluctance to use such a weapon on one another in fear of retaliation. Wouldn't robbing a bank be a tad harder when everyone working at the bank could defend themselves? Only the military or assasins uses guns to kill people, the common robber (who would have a gun in a gun restrictive society anyways) uses the weapon only to scare people into giving them what they want. Psychopaths are a different debate. National defense benefits for the same general reason... You could say that if an entire populace was armed with small-arm type weapons, a neighboring nation may think twice about invasion. I can call one famous quote that applies to America before all of this second amendment debate nonsense existed. Japanese admiral Isoroku Yamamoto said the following quote, "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass". I'd say any nation would benefit from a repeal of gun laws due to the amount of money they could save in a national defense budget. A militia network does not need to be maintained by the government, and requires little training. America needs this the most it seems, but instead decreases rights of all people in its nation in order to supplement its national defense. It doesn't make sense to me why America is banning one of the few things that have made it unstoppable, but society is evolving I suppose. The next point should explain it partially. General moral of the people in power should 'theoretically' increase... There are plenty of peasant revolts in history that pertain to mistreatment of a particular caste or group of people within a nation. I believe there have been enough for the ones in the hierarchy of a society to have enough history to know this. If a populace is armed, the leader of a nation would think twice before imposing radical law on a nation in which the people of that nation do not support or mistreatment of the majority/minority of a populace. A particular excerpt from this article made me think about it while I was researching evidence to support my opinion. It reads 'Does anyone believe that 12 million armed Jews, Gypsies, and homosexuals would have been herded into cattle cars by Nazis and shipped away for extermination?', which speaks to me in a certain volume. It does speak a certain amount of truth, no? You could say that is one of the reasons that Europe and now the U.S., are against gun laws as of recent. Not to conspire, but if the populace has no way of defending itself it will be more susceptible to popularly unwanted change. Of course if such a change happens there will always be someone to supply arms to those who are willing to pay for them. Where there's demand there is supply, that's capitalism! The market is an all balancing tool, is it not? Source list... A few revolts due to caste/group mistreatment for reference - http://history.wisc.edu/sommerville/351/351-11.htm French Revolution - http://www.victorianweb.org/history/hist7.html Source for the quote - http://www.larrywillis.com/quotes.html The rest is personal Philosophy. Have fun. I'll tell you what I'd think. We are seeing a decline in people who support gun ownership within the last twenty years (Will cite statistic if anyone cares), but it's still not a low enough margin of people in the U.S. to incite such a law. If it's done suddenly without proper transition, we will see gun owners turning weapons on the police. I'd compare it to a healthy man taking bread from a starving man. Not only that, we'd see profit drops from gun-producing companies which have significant sway in politics and a few visits from NRA lobbies would cause political backlash from a sudden move to take gun rights away. Those in power know the importance of a slow transition from one unpopular policy to another, and wouldn't risk a collapse or losing control of the populace due to a massively imposing law. At least I couldn't imagine it.
  21. I remember when a dying member of my high school was given a wish by the make a wish foundation. He wanted to go see the Georgia bulldogs, so they picked him up in a helicopter and lifted him off to a VIP lounge. It's been four years now, and I still remember him. He's gone now, sadly... I hope you get what you truly desire in life and beyond, or better yet... have a miracle happen and get better.
  22. Merry Christmas, and thanks for dropping bye.

Since Surenas was whisked away by moderation, I don't find much courage to post anything on the debate forums. All it takes are a few hidden pokes. New mods are cracking down hard on people as of late. probably some sort of new moderator ban quota. I don't think I will have any problem though... I rarely post, and I never update my profile!

  23. Merry Christmas...

Sorry I haven't replied in ages, I'm preturbed at this site ever since a favored member of the community was banned recently. It makes me feel my time here is fleeting if I continue posting on the nexus.

  24. There are many composers from 200-400 years ago that the average person knows off the top of his head, and many more the person educated in music know of. Of course, there were many more composers than Bach and Mozart, but there is one key thing that separates what has been immortalized now and what will be immortalized in the future. Those composers did not have the information network capabilities that we have today. In fact because of youtube, I find myself going and looking up even the most unknown bands from the 50's-90's. In summary because they are easy for the common man to access, you'll see quite more than a few bands and singers becoming gods of the era. I guess as the population increases and the amount of people who can access music increase, you will see an increase in the amount of immortalized musicians Though if I had to put my money on it, Jacko will probably still have movies made for him in a hundred years. He's going to be in the minds of every generation till the end of time, or till the money runs out.
  25. My thoughts? ...I use my ... and all of the inconsistencies just blow in the wind...
