Is there anyway to turn this down? The normal background music is fine but when a fight starts my ears get blown off, I can't hear the comments party members make either because of the noise.
Hmm, i never run into that problem, maybe becouse i have turned the music in the options way down i guess.
I dont know of a way to make just the battle music more silent, i think its linked with the background music.
If you maybe have the collectors edition you have the soundtrack on the second disc, you could run this sountrack in a media player in the background while playing
and turn the ingame music off, that should solve the problem but its not dynamic music any more of course.

Is it possible to make a new texture for the world map locations?
I have the DLC Stone prisoner and am unable to use it because The world map icon Sulchers Pass does not appear on my world map...
Game is legal copy bought from steam and DLC is Authorized, Installed, and Enabled but no matter how many things i do i cant get it to appear in my world map.Have try all the tech support problem fixes nothing works tho.
Wondering if anyone could edit its location, maybe change the way it looks or something to override the orginal and maybe make it appear?

From what i know its possible with the toolset to make new locations on the worldmap, but i have no clue as how to make it becouse i havent used it jet.
What you describe is a Problem that was described in the official bioware forums by several users, i remember reading about it but i am sorry i dont remember reading about a solution, maybe ty checking the official forums and searching about "Stone Prisoner" or "DLC not showing up" or something like that, you will find at least others with the same problem and possibly also a way to a solution.

Party members stop attacking, they just sit there and get beaten up. I have to keep right clicking to attack, instead of auto-attacking.
Have you maybe activated the "Hold Position" button under the character portraits on the left side of your screen?
I also can't level up, when I press the + sign next to character portraits nothing happens.What happens when you open up the character screen and press there the Level Up button (its right, under the stats) ?

Well i have no solutions for you sadly, but i remember reading in the Bioware Forums about the problems you described, i dont remember that i saw any solutions tough.
Try searching the forum for "Oghren" and for "Wardens keep not showing up" or something similar, i am sure you find at least others that reported the same problems.
I wish i could be of more help, i hope you can resolve your problems with the game.

I used the same mod you have trouble with, exept its an earlier version.
Maybe that verion has installing issues? would be weird i think, have you checked the comments of the mod, has someone else the same problems?
But i guess it cant be just that mod if you said you tried different mods without sucsess...
Have you installed or messed with the toolset? maybe that could have destroyed something?
Maybe your Administrator Account dosent have sufficent rights to acsess files on your desktop or execute them there or some third party program is blocking it?
I work with my User account that has Administrator rights, not the "Real" adminstrator account, not sure if that helps in any way.
Also i have a Guide on installing/uninstalling mods, but your problem i havent covered there, see my sig if you want to.

You can configure the key in the options under controls too, and the path is "...\My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Screenshots", in there you have 3 folders for different categories of screenshots, the ones you have taken yourself are in the "user" subfolder =)

all thanks to Gaias who provided the information!
I would be very happy if someone experienced with the Toolset could take a look and confirm that this way is working,
also i am not sure if you still have to manually delete files when you use this method.

Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but I looked around the Nexus forums and found nothing on how to install mods for Dragon Age Origins. If anyone knows how to install mods for this game, please tell me. thank you.
Every mod should have a readme or something that includes installation directions. As noted it really depends on if the mod is a basic add-in, or if it needs to do any overrides.
Thank you for the responds and help. Yea every mod should have a readme, but the problem is: some don't... or some of the readmes have file paths that I don't recognize such as these for example, which both are for the same mod:
-directory at C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override
and/or
-directory at C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\modules\Single Player\override
I have Dragon Age installed on my C drive in the program folder. The first path that leads to \packages\core\override I can find no problem, but the 2nd path, I saw no folder named \modules in my dragon age folder. In such a case, what would you do? Create the folder?
You would need to create, though i'd be very careful with a mod that is overriding single player directly. That dangerous ground. What mod is it?
I dont know which mod redhorizon09 meant, but i second what jwvanderbeck said. Normally those "\modules\Single Player\override" paths have something to do with the way a mod is extracted from the toolset (if i am not mistaken) and i readed several postings that had problems with this single player installation paths. I am no modder myself (jet), but i would be very carefull with such a mod and possibly dont use it unless i have exact directions from the maker of said mod.
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override is normally the place to put mods unless they work with a .dazip file.

i got all the DLC till now, but i am really not sure if i will buy the "return to ostagar" DLC
seems just too little, i wait till it comes out and then see what the pepole will say about it before i spend money on it.

2) if you want someone to make that mod for you you might get a better response in the Mod Request Forums ;)

When i set my Country in the --> Edit Profile Information --> Country tab
to AUSTRIA, thats my actual location, and i click on "Amend my Profile" it goes instantly to Cartier Islands.
see my profile: Country: Cartier Islands
its funny, i am sure those islands are beautiful to live on but i am from the heart of europe ;)
any way to fix this?

Quick answer, its best you make for every individual mod a subfolder in your override folder, but you dont have to.

Its written so any beginner should be able to use a mod propperly, and maybe also experienced users can get something out of it too.

Sorry i dont have an answer for you becouse i dont have the toolset myself, but i am sure someone in the Builder Troubleshooting Subforum might be able to answer you that question, i myself think its possible to duplicate an item with the toolset.
