  1. "How dare you call me uncute! You don't wanna know what happened to the last person who said that." http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/make_my_day_cropped.jpghttp://webbstuff.net/evilneko/facial-expression.jpg "...GRRR!" I think my character is offended! :D
  2. Melee character? Good luck! I've never been brave enough to try.
  3. Seconded. Anything that's light and/or adds to sneak and/or generates a stealth field. Higher levels of Sneak will make it easier to sneak no matter what you wear, but who wants to wear ugly power armor? My character's too cute for power armor! http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/thanks2.jpg
  4. Oh yeah, I got a couple a fat mans, the experimental mirv, and other nifty toys like Lincoln's and Blackhawk in there. :D The safe itself weighs 30 and I always have it with me, but believe me if I need a weapon out of there during a combat situation, I'm either gonna be the slowest draw in the wasteland, or hafta do without! I really oughta try to ween myself off it. Maybe get that personal vertibird mod (I -think- it has a storage option?) and stick everything in there. That way my stowed stuff is even harder to get to, and the temptation to stash stuff won't be so great. Anyway I think we hijacked this thread enough. :D
  5. Move them around in FOMM's mod list. :) FOMM will also always load ESPs after ESMs, even if you try to arrange them otherwise. There are mods that use ESMs, so in a way you kinda have two load orders going on.
  6. My setup was done in pretty much 3 steps: apply 1.1 patch, which UFO3P apparently requires, then download and run the UFO3P installer version, then throw in FakePatch. Well, ok, 4th step: load order. Fake patch first. I have mine loaded right after the main fallout 3 esm. 1.6 sounds good so far, and may make all this stuff obsolete anyway. I'm holding out on installing it though.
  7. Actually, I had a pirate copy before I went out and bought it. ;) My legit copy never complained about the disc (or dtools) even after doing a clean install. (and with copy protection schemes getting so invasive (StarForce, etc) sometimes, the cracked version is safer (StarForce again) and more stable.) Edit: Come to think of it if one tried to apply a legit patch to a cracked Fallout, it might make bad things happen. Also, if one tried to apply a cracked patch to a legit Fallout, strange things might happen then too -- though I donno why anyone would do that, totally illogical. OP however stated he "bought the game and the expansion dvd" and later that his dad emailed him, which indicates he lives some distance from his dad. Maybe in the same town, maybe not, meaning he shipped it. Mailing it's a lot easier than uploading a couple isos, so I don't think he has a cracked copy of anything. :P And since he got the DLC with it, no reason for the cracked patch either. Thus, I doubt that piracy of any sort is causing the OP's trouble. OP never did say whether he downloaded the latest patch (which may or may not have been needed).
  8. And now for something completely different! (well, from the most recent posts anyway) (and also to revive this lovely thread that had fallen to page 5) I give you... Princess Mill Varna! Her outfit. My character wants it. Perhaps with the cloak optional. ;) http://webbstuff.net/Mill-chan-1.jpg http://webbstuff.net/Mill-chan-2.jpg Just er.. ignore the tentacle.. things.. yah.
  9. I wonder if the OP ever found a solution. It's kinda puzzling to me since I have Daemon Tools running AND never had to have the disc (virtual or physical ;)) in drive to play.
  10. Cheater. :D Ok, ok -- I do the same thing with the vault-tec experimental dimensional safe. I never use 95% of what's in there, much of it being conventional weapons and extra armors or clothes (regulator duster, combat armor, nekogi suit, etc) to occasionally pull out for aesthetics.
  11. If you found the cells but no weapon to use them, you were probably near the Firelance. If you remember where you found them, go back there and search! (Or better yet, have Dogmeat search) Failing that you could go to the alien crash site and grab the blaster, along with more ammo. Be warned, you'll need a mod of some sort to make/obtain more ammo for either weapon. There aren't very many alien power cells out there.
  12. Hah, you think YOU need to lighten your load. I currently carry the alien blaster, a mod-added laser SMG, a mod-added laser sniper, a mod-buffed laser rifle, grenade launcher (with 3 types of ammo corresponding to the grenade types), and sometimes, Vengeance and maybe a nuka 'nade or two. (AND I use them all, depending on the situation! When I used to play Diablo, we had this variant called CAT, Combat Adaptive Tactics... I play very much that way in Fallout! Cept.. without the melee :P) Though, personally, if I had your guns, and wanted to drop one, I'd ditch the vanilla sniper if you haven't already. As for choosing between the Reservist's and Lincoln's... I'd probably go with whichever one I could reliably keep ammo stocked for.
  13. My guess would be the 1.5 patch. Try 1.6 if you can, or try a re-install, then do the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch + Fakepatch thing.
  14. It will? I never had to have a disc in drive. My copy, even though fairly recently bought, was old enough to still have the "do not stock until.." label on it. (that best buy apparently didn't sell very many, or ended up with other stores' old stock! :D) It had the original, 1.0 release on dvd. Seems strange that a disc check would be added later. Usually as a game ages, if protections are changed at all they get removed. What version does your dad have?
  15. My standard procedure for troubleshooting crashes is to start disabling mods in reverse order of when I got them. ie, newest mods get disabled first. With each mod I disable I also load an earlier save, as well as the most recent one. On an unrelated note, I do not think you need Killable Children in addition to Enhanced Children.
  16. 255. Including the main one plus DLCs.
  17. I have one of these too (Sapphire brand). I'd have to say Obli and Fallout run pretty nicely on it.
  18. I don't know what to think of it, honestly. id is a company whose games I used to enjoy. Doom and Doom 2 were great. Doom 3? Meh. Bethesda is a company I've only recently come to know through Oblivion and Fallout 3. I never played the previes TES (or Fallout) games. I enjoy both Obli and FO3 thoroughly though. Maybe I should try and get my hands on Morrowind and FO1/2, huh?
  19. I had that same crash bug, but I had no idea it was MMM! Sometimes I think MMM tries to do too much, it's impressive but there are many bugs. Still I hate to lose it. Was it in the same area for you too? It may (and probably does) happen elsewhere, but the spot between Springvale and 101 was the one I consistently got crashes at, and the first spot where I noticed a serious and repeatable problem. I know for sure that it wasn't just ripper sound + MMM == crash, because I could go to another place where there were power-armored guys with rippers running around (between SatCom array NN-03d and Fort Constantine), and not crash. In the process of figuring out the crash, I loaded many past saves, disabled many mods, and got so sick of seeing Vault Boy telling me Fallout had performed an illegal operation... ugh. I don't really think I want to download the new version, if it's been released yet. Gonna miss the Floater Meat though. Awesome stuff. And the wasteland'll just feel so empty now... but on the other hand, maybe I can break my addiction to the high damage from Skullmosher's Laser Pack, and actually use weapons other than a laser rifle!
  20. Well, here are some ideas. You may have already considered these, but just in case you haven't... You can hop back onto the recent updated list by adding or changing an image, and maybe even just the description. Make sure you name your mod well and put some thought in the short description. That'll help make your mod stand out in the listings. When I'm looking for a particular type of mod, I'll put in a search term or two and then browse the results, bookmarking or tracking interesting finds to look at later. While I'm doing the initial run through, I only click on those with a decent blurb in the short description that shows up on the results pages, and if applicable, only those with images attached. (Something like, say, a tweak to a vanilla weapon's damage, or a radio mod, doesn't really need a picture, so when looking at such mods I wouldn't care if it had pics or not) But don't fret too much about rolling off the recent list. When I'm looking for an Armor or NPC mod, I'll go right to the category and then sort by last update. I don't give retexes a second glance most times. Many times when I do "just browse" I'm looking for something that I couldn't think of a search term for. But maybe that's just me.
  21. I already had to turn off MMM as I found it (RC2) to be the cause of my recent crash trouble near Springvale. Consistently, as I was passing by the last house on the road back to 101, a few seconds after I got in range to hear the Enclaves' rippers (and apparently, I can hear 'em from plenty far away), boom. :( Didn't stop until I disabled all of MMM. Now, the wasteland seems... more empty.
  22. I just have my laptop next to me for wiki (among other things) while playing. ;) But, I can also alt-tab, perhaps because the latest patch I have is 1.1, and I use UFO3P+Fakepatch. What patch are you running?
  23. I donno, but The Vault does: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Steel_ingot I used the video to find my last ones. I also used the Lights mod to drop lights in places I had already been to. >.> Indeed, those might be the three he's missing. They're inaccessible the first time out, but when you come back, the trog has opened a hole in the fence...
  24. Darn it, a while back, I ran into a MMM-ified spawn of muties, including a behemoth. I had recently picked up a gatling laser, so I whipped it out and started blasting away. During the fight, the Behemoth got close, and I targetted him in VATS. The scene was so cool... but I missed it! I had the big ol Behemoth in front of me, point blank.. and here was my CUTE (hehe) little loli, arching backwards to point the gatling laser up at the Behemoth towering over her, looking like she was going to fall over backwards anymoment.. it was great. I really ought to try and stage that shot again so I can get it. It was just that awesome. EDIT: Ok, I managed to recreate (sort of) the scene. And I didn't even have to summon the Behemoth myself, he came at me all on his own.. and out of nowhere! I did sort of have to stage it though: it was barely light out when he came at me, I had to kill him, wait a couple hours, then res him and fight him again. :whistling: It isn't quite as awesome as the first time, but eh. http://webbstuff.net/loli-vs-behemoth.jpg "Ow." http://webbstuff.net/loli-vs-behemoth2.jpg "I'm gonna need a chiropractor after this..."
  25. The Tallgeese as a power armor? Holy crap. But I'd want the beam rifle and sword and board too. :D I'd love to be able to do the modelling and texturing and such, but I probably don't have the patience to learn and don't really have much artistic skill anyway. If I could do all that.. you can bet there'd be either an Iczer battlesuit or a BGC hardsuit up on the nexus.. or both.
