  1. I wish the Arefu inhabitants and Lucy West would forget about "my little killing spree" ... ....mainly because I never killed anyone! I stole an assault rifle as I was leaving, walking past where the Family's guard hangs out. :verymad: (Hey, I was low level, poor, and desperate. And the guard was nowhere to be seen...) (I think the guard spawned when I stole it, and then tripped on one of his own booby traps)
  2. My take on The Pitt was this: Ashur seemed to be a guy trying to do a good thing through evil means. I believed that he would eventually get, and distribute, a cure. I did not believe that he would end the system of slavery he'd instituted though, and eventually decided against him because of this. On the other hand, I wasn't so sure Wernher and the slaves had the capacity to continue the research for the cure. By kidnapping the baby and giving it to them, I might be denying them a cure that would improve the quality of their lives tremendously, slave or not. This feeling was further increased when, after all was said and done, Wernher said, "We cut some corners on the research..." and also seemed pretty annoyed about the care taken to not hurt the child. Gotta wonder about the tike's ultimate fate...
  3. Clearly the reason there are so many DC-area vaults is they were all mini-vaults. :D
  4. I think you underestimate the power of the casual gamer's wallet. There's an entire industry devoted to casuals. However, I agree the DLCs are too expensive, especially Anchorage. That's why I didn't pay for it. ;)
  5. There is no real difference between those two methods, except for when dragging and dropping directly from (insert favorite unpacker here) to Fallout 3/Data, the temp files are stored in a different place and removed afterward. ;)
  6. Ah, so I can't use GECK to directly tidy up my house. But I could make, say, a shelf, arrange items on it, then make a mod placing said shelf with its items in the house. I see. I plugged "house" into the search on fo3nexus and am browsing through the results. May take a while.
  7. So this has been bugging me of late. I don't know if it's something I did in the beginning, a botched mod install, a mistake I made when converting to child race, or even.. normal for my selections, but my cute little character (who amusingly grows and loses boobs depending on her outfit XD) skin that depending on the lighting might appear almost decent, pale to the extent of almost looking like Data. All constructive advice welcome, but in particular are there any CUTE users out there with suggestions? Pale: http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/pale1.jpg Not quite so pale: http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/notquitesopale.jpg
  8. I KNEW I'd get some replies in the regular discussion forum. You can use GECK to shuffle items around in a saved game?! Like, I go toss some crap on the ground, save my game, then somehow edit the save with GECK? I didn't know GECK could do that. Damn, that's awesome. I suppose I'll look into them, then. Always thought my vanilla house (Megaton) was a hassle anyway, though somewhat conveniently located.
  9. Rude though he was, he has a point: intel graphics chips are exceedingly weak. Looking at the Toshiba site, I don't think any of the L300 series would do (based on what you've said, yours is obviously the middle one). Well, alright - the S5928, the $600 one with the Radeon 3100 might, MIGHT be able to play it. It'd be slow, it'd be jerky, and it'd be ugly, but it just might run. Sorry man, I think you're boned, but here's another exceedingly long shot for you: upgrade the RAM. That intel graphics card in your laptop shares its memory with the OS (or rather, steals it from the OS). More might help, but it's a very small chance that it'll actually run. Even if it doesn't run, at 2GB running Vista, that thing's pretty light on the RAM. You might want to consider adding more, regardless of whether it runs Fallout.
  10. Any mods that affect the radio? Radio explosion I presume is the one that makes the radios you encounter in the world blow up when shot? That probably wouldn't cause this.
  11. Hey all. I know such mods exist for oblivion, mainly in the form of mannequins, and I do see a Mannequin mod for FO3 here on the nexus, but I'm curious as to what people's favorite ways of arranging and displaying the various trophies, souvenirs, and other things they've acquired in their travels. Currently, I'm just using the various pieces of furniture in my megaton house to display my prizes -- my first Brotherhood power armor, the armor from the first enclave I killed, the drifter's rifle, Jingwei's sword, etc etc. Two problem with this method: it's a HUGE PITA to arrange things nicely with the Z key! :wallbash: ...and also I'm running out of places to put things. It's an interesting predicament for me. I've never actually collected trophies before in any previous game. It just seemed.. natural.. in FO3 to display these things. So, what say you, folks? How do you display your trophies? I'm not asking for a "best" mod, I'm interested in a variety of options to evaluate for myself. (Heck, doesn't even have to be a mod, if someone has some nifty trick for how and where to arrange things, I'd like to know!) (Ok, actually, I do know about that magic hand mod. I may take the plunge and grab FOSE and give it a try, but like I said, I'm interested in options here) :thanks:
  12. It does seem a bit odd. The shelter thing might have something to do with it, but have you seen the weapons in Big Town? A Hunting Rifle's the best they got, and that's not much against the assault rifles and grenades the super muties wield.
  13. Yeah, she just has that calming effect, I guess. :D Actually, is that the capital steps you're on? I encountered an oddly docile Deathclaw there too. It was a funny scene actually.. the steps were crawling with super muties, at least a half dozen with miniguns, four with missile launchers, and a few miscellaneous ones. A two-pronged attack from Talon Co. failed to dislodge them. I started picking off some. I hadn't taken out but three or four, when I suddenly noticed the super muties turn their attention on something else. I started maneuvering to try and see what it was, and ran face-first into a Hellfire trooper! Fortunately, he had apparently been disarmed, and had scavenged a minigun. Making short work of the Enclave guys I found, I discovered that apparently, two Hellfire troopers, and two regular Enclave, had wiped out the entire remaining super mutant presence. This was my first encounter with Hellfire troopers, and on seeing the carnage they had created, I was scared. I hadn't even been the victim of an incinerator attack yet, and I was scared. There was nothing left alive, and I certainly hadn't killed that many muties already, and Talon Co hadn't even downed one. Holy poo, two Hellfires did ALL THIS?! ...Finally, there was something in the wasteland as OP as me. A scarey realization indeed. Then I found the enclave camp, no officers (dead or alive) about, but a locked deathclaw cage with a deathclaw inside. I opened it up, he stepped out, shook himself, and then just kinda stared at me. Kinda freaky, really. Also, is it just me or does Johan kinda look like Michael Garibaldi from Babylon 5?
  14. Once, after picking up a bottle of whiskey, I decided, "What the heck, I could use the +1 str to carry some loot." Click! "You are now addicted to whiskey." DOH! (funny part is, this was after I turned my character into a kid. ;) )
  15. After having his head blown off (by me), this raider decided it was time to relax. http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/raider-corpse-funny.jpg Now, she may be killing an enclavie, but I still think there's just something... evil... about the expression on her face. Not quite what you expect of a loli, especially a last best hope of humanity one! http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/facial-expression.jpg (Maybe she joined the Titans, and is shooting at that wuss, Kamille)
  16. Finally on page 10 someone mentions BGC! I've wanted a hardsuit ever since my character got the power armor training. Course.. now that I use CUTE, I'd need a CUTE-compatible helmet. >.> Along somewhat similar lines to Bubblegum Crisis, but helmless (well, almost): the Iczer battlesuits from Iczelion: http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/iczz019.jpg Moar: http://www.fortunecity.com/lavendar/trouse...l/imagiczza.htm and http://www.fortunecity.com/lavendar/trouse...l/imagiczzb.htm And, finally, since my character is bloody named after her (though doesn't look or fight much like her): http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/Noir_06.jpg http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/Noir_07.jpg Moar: http://www.animegalleries.net/img/86475 and http://www.animegalleries.net/img/86474
  17. There are no female feral ghouls. Either that, or when becoming feral, ghouls go through a super mutant-like transformation wherein they lose all indications of gender. A cave will be used as a completely unsupervised day care center, and outside of it, there will be very few children. Even with all the radiation around, people outside the vault will still manage to have kids. High doses of radiation sometimes turns people into ZOMBIES! And that the only ones who could beat Shiro Amada are female mecha pilots. Oh wait... ;)
  18. If I changed her hairstyle, don't you think she'd resemble a teenage Ripley? :D Ok, fine, you're right: Kiki Rosita owns all.
  19. Such good karma she even tamed a deathclaw? :D
  20. I play only PC and am a slight modaholic (there are others here much more mod-crazy than me apparently!) so, my opinion can be considered...tainted. I use neither, or both. :D Allow me to explain. Normally, I rely on Armored Vests to provide my actual DR, so that I can wear anything I want for aesthetics. Prior to getting that mod, I preferred power armor, as I have one of the "weightless" power armor mods. I didn't much care for the looks, but with MMM, I needed the protection. I still sometimes put on my good ol' T-51b though. http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/cute-t51b.jpg Cute, but I still prefer the grunt outfit. ;) http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/kuroe4-grunt-cropped.jpg Oh, and Uraki > Gato + Char combined. :P
  21. The way the head detaches from the body when you headshot an Enclave soldier never ceases to amuse me. I've also had an amusing encounter with one of those explosive-trapped wastelanders. He ran up to me, yelled "I got a bomb on me!" or something to that effect, and then, without giving me a chance to do anything about it, ran off. I finished off the nearby Enclave, and went to find him. I did, just in time to watch him go boom. Shortly after I rescued Dogmeat, I was prowling around in/near the DC area with the mutt in tow. Suddenly, some super muties open fire on me from a building. I'm running around trying to find cover because I don't know where the fire is coming from yet, but Dogmeat does! He charges into the building, and I follow, only to find the muties are on the second floor. As I'm trying to find the stairs, Dogmeat's already up there. At this point, I was worried I'd lose the mutt. I'd read that he was easily killed. He's tougher than I thought apparently, as when I finally joined him up there, I swear he had forced one of the muties to drop his gun and was engaged in melee combat. I quickly finish him off, and Dogmeat goes after the next one. As soon as Dogmeat gets hold of him, the second one drops his minigun to melee the dog! And then there are the Enclave guys with Rippers I run into every once in a while... though that might be a MMM thing. A definite MMM thing: Went into Canterbury once, rezzed Dom and Machete, then noticed something not human running around. I chase after it, and find one of MMM's Geckos. It's friendly.... to me. It hates Derek, the little kid there. Now, being that I have MMM running, I've fortified CC with extra bots and turrets (Buildable Bots and Placeable Equipment mods). Whenever the gecko catches up to Derek, the entire town, my bots, my turrets, even the townspeople, all turn on the poor kid. (My guess.. some sort of weird glitch with MMM, Animal Friend, and possibly also related to the Bryan Wilks thing mentioned a few times here)
  22. I'll post pics when I get home. My one and only character, Kuroe, a level 20+ goody-two-shoes, has gone through many changes in her time outside the vault. Heck, she's even reverted to being a child! Thus, I have the following theory. "That crazy kid from Vault 101," as Three-Dog calls her, is not just one person, but many, in true tall-tale style. The blonde pigtailed girl currently running around picking off Enclave? Not the same as the purple-haired asian chick that on emerging from the vault, could barely take out a dog, who is also different from the bespectacled, big-breasted, lingerie-wearing girl who liked to pose with (but not use) big guns and knives, who was herself soon replaced by a flat-chested laser-lover. As for the regression to childhood, I just couldn't resist. She's the cutest thing to ever headshot a deathclaw. And she's actual size, nation-wide belieeeeve! And now, the pics. Pickin's for the early stuff were slim as I wasn't taking my screenshots... Fresh enough from the vault to still retain her security helmet, she wanders a metro... cropped, but at the time of capture, she wasn't in very good health. http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/kuroe1.jpg Perhaps it is the same person, perhaps not.. she seems to like posing with big guns though. http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/kuroe2-ml.jpg Maybe she got a boob reduction? Either way, her preference for weapons has sure changed... but her affinity for raider armor hasn't. http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/kuroe3.jpg Even as a kid, she seems to prefer raider armor (clicky!), Dogmeat seems to think she's pretty nice in the Regulator Duster (clicky), but I think she's cuter in the Merc Grunt Outfit: http://webbstuff.net/evilneko/kuroe4-grunt-cropped.jpg She loves her toy blaster, for sure. (The BABE A-Cup armor mesh is what gives her the tiny-boobs look. Ever try vanilla armor on a child character? You end up with a chesty midget! It's freaky, and not in a way anyone would like.. I think. Unless they find anorexic dwarves attractive, I guess.) And just as a little bonus, a couple more of the big-boobed broad with the big gun and knife fetish, not safe for work: mm, Stabhappy (boobies are NSFW) and ph33r mah damn-near-broke minigun! (only slightly NSFW :P) With her preference for raider armor being somewhat consistent, maybe it IS the same girl throughout. Or maybe that's just me being weird. ;) I think I like the different people idea better though. More um.. legendary. ;) Edited: removed attachments, repointed to webhost to clear my attachment space.
