  1. the combat is ok but I would love it if they used a system more like Mount and Blade which is dirt cheap on steam and there is a demo if you've never seen it before. it's quite chaotic at first and very difficult to hit anything but perseverance does pay off. my dream would be the combat and horses from M&B fused with the story lines and fully rendered world of TES
  2. it might even be possible to reduce the loading by having a vast desert to cross. lots of dunes and maybe the occasional wadi or oasis but basically lots of relatively empty cells until you get to the other side and then it can start on loading the detailed terrain when it needs to. if you really needed to cut down on the desert, have a permanent sandstorm across the middle of it to cut down visibility to the surrounding areas when you are in the middle even a loading screen similar to the ones used between Skyrim and towns/buildings/dungeons would be ok. the engine can deal with loading up a relatively large area during these transitions and it is a "feature" of the game with a chance to have a drink/snack/smoke before getting back to exploring. another method of linking regions could be by ship in a similar way to carriage travel around Skyrim or even having the journey along a preset route but with random encounters (anything from pirates trying to board to sea monsters or, for a completely different experience, dolphins swimming alongside). with a system like that you could even find a boat drifting with clues pointing to various islands with side quests which would require you to charter a boat to reach them. the methods for travelling between regions are numerous and it is possible that different techniques would be used for different regional borders. if one border was too difficult because there was no natural boundary that could be used to disguise the loading then Beth could always have the Thalmar throw up a magical boundary that you need to find a specific artefact or spell to break through and you have your nice neat place for a loading screen to go and the border has been crossed (this would also mean that parts of the map would not be available early in the game.
  3. @RedRavyn: they could have the transitions in mountain passes (considering that they have surrounded the regions in the existing games with mountains this would be in character for the game) make the pass several cells long and you could probably cross from Skyrim to Cyrodiil with no HL style loading screen, they could even have a border post at each end of the pass that you had to go through the interior of to get in and out of the pass. there could also be a few secret tunnels for those with bounties on their heads to use so they can avoid the guards when crossing the borders
  4. Beth could easily add all the regions of Tamriel as expansions to Skyrim. it would be great if the Dragonborn could travel around and end the threat of the Thalmor. I really want to see the Thalmor issues resolved within the time frame of this instalment rather than getting TES VI and finding out that the Thalmor were defeated 47 years before the start of the game. even though it will be scripted, I still want to feel as if my character(s) had something to do with these events and made a difference
  5. as it stands now if you get poisoned, by a spider or chaurus, you can ignore the effects. even with a starting character you only need to take a small health potion or healing spell to replace lost health and not worry about the 10 points of health lost over 10 seconds. about the only time it makes any difference is when you are being attacked by numerous opponents and you are reduced to nearly no health by the sheer volume of attacks and so health potions/spells get used and you don't need to worry about the poison, and if all you did was cure the poison then one of the next few attacks would kill you anyway. my request is a change to the effects of poison so that health, magica and stamina don't regenerate on their own and you can't get a rested bonus from sleeping in a bed until you cure the poison. healing spells, potions and food can still restore lost health, stamina and magica thanks in advance to any modders who give this a go
  6. I had a little stutter after trying some of the ENB series mods plus the HD pack and various other mods. my fix was to get rid of the HD pack and ENB and use Pluto's realistic lighting, replace my d3d9.dll with one generated using this d3d9gen and then ran the game with GameBooster using the gamebox and gb desktop and turning off explorer while games are playing. edit to say that I am getting an average of 50 fps (steady 60 in buildings and dungeons) most of the time but for some reason it drops down to 35~45 in Morthal :/ but considering that I can see Azura's shrine from the patio of Proudspire (on a clear day) I can live with the low frame rate in a few places as long as it's smooth
  7. TES online will probably have different servers for each platform (if it does go on consoles ) as for M$ bribing Beth to release the DLC exclusively for the 360, well no surprise there. they did it before and they will do it again. I can't help wondering who M$ are targetting with this. those who would buy a 360 to get this DLC a few months before anyone else probably already have one. all it does it make them feel superior for a little while but makes everyone else hate M$ and their smug console customers.
  8. the best one for me was not just the line but the tone of voice used. I shot a bandit with my paralysis enchanted bow and as he seized up and started to fall he uttered the immortal line "Gods no" not funny in itself but the way he said it sounded like he had just found out that his dog had crapped in his boots :D
  9. the thalmor story needs to carry on but what I would like to see are the other regions of Tamriel added, eg: TES V Summerset Isle, TES V Valenwood or TES V Black Marsh, etc etc. they already have Morrowind and Cyrodiil from TES III AND TES IV. the models and textures would need to be redone but that is less work than starting from scratch. the only real problem would be the amount of drive space it will need
