  1. When using Vortex and launching the game from within Vortex a message pops up saying that the save game requires data from plugins that are not there...the Community Patch (always) and varying .esm files (it varies). I then need to log out of the game, back to the desktop, and then relaunch Starfield. Is this normal and to be expected as players are using the plugins.txt enabler?
  2. For many of the issues people are stating that involve NMM they don't look at MO2, especially the sorting issue...that's what LOOT is for. Yeah, Vortex has it built in, but you can access loot from MO2. It works for me. Plus, I'm a big fan of the virtual file directory which leaves my core SSE files untouched. Finally (and this is personal), I detest tiles on my desktop. I can see perfectly fine without those big ugly things in front of me. Modern UI has its detractors.
  3. @ commissarmike - you could port it yourself...there are very good guides on how to do so.
  4. Not if its for your personal use...meaning its not posted on any mod sharing site.

  6. HEEEELLLLLLOOOOOO!!! YOO HOOOO! Anyone home at Nexus?

I live in the Caribbean and we only have those sorts of prices and limits on mobile data. Our cable internet network (glass or copper) is much faster and cheaper than that.

I have had many problems with some GOG games which simply refuse to run. Their support is so bad that I have simply abandoned any hope of me ever playing them. If I see one i like on GOG then I purchase it, but there is a huge risk that it will not work. I have never had that issue with Steam.

I have read some of the user comments when searching for information on a mod. Most of those complaining about the attitude of mod authors simply refuse to read the descriptions or any other information provided. If you have a problem with the author who is providing something for free then don't use the mod or make your own. The CK is there. Simple. Some users remind me of spoilt little children who whine and grumble when nothing goes their way.
  10. Disabled LTTF, but no change. It could be Hearthfires Extended according to the description on that mod page. I tried using Jaxonz Positioner to change some positions and it worked fine for the fences and mill but there are some rocks on the left of the building that are hollow (I can walk through them) and the whole rear of the house is floating. Its too much to shift all over.
  11. In response to post #43549550. #43551830, #43561140, #43562455 are all replies on the same post. And he is extremely helpful and willing to give advice.
  12. Sorry for the late reply. Work's a killer. Thanks for your recommendations. I don't use ELFX (ELE and Relighting Skyrim work ok for me). And the load order is correct. I did see on the LTTF page that someone indicated that there is some conflict with Hearthfires and that mod. The mod author recommended Dawnguard, Dragonborn and then his mod's .esm followed by Hearthfires. The guy posting had LTTF after Hearthfires and it cause a tear very much like mine, so I was hoping that this was the culprit. I opened it in TES5Edit and the conflict was there but it seems that Hearthfires wins out. Still, I disabled the mod but haven't had time to boot Skyrim up.
  13. The only mod I can think of is Landscape Texture Transition Fix. Will try disabling to check.
  14. Hi, I am asking for help in this section because it the request deals with Hearthfires - an official DLC. I bought the land for Windstad Manor and started to build. However, right at the start it asked if I wanted the animal pen and garden. I said yes. The I realised the following: 1] the animal pen fence and bale of hay were floating...I walked under them. 2] the garden is partially buried under the house and the fence is buried under the hill. 3] the mill is buried under the hill. 4] the rocks on the side of the pen are hollow. I can walk down from the top but walk underneath them (and the fence) if I am coming back up hill at the side of the house. 5] there is a huge tear/seam right on the side of the steps where the clay patch is. I can see through it but its not large enough to fall through. This is my second playthrough but first with Windstad ( I had Lakeview and Heljarchen before) and I have never seen this before. The only mod I have which should affect that location is Hearthfires Extended. Can anyone help please?
  15. I like the redesign...its whether certain features actually work properly. For example, I am tracking files so that I may know when authors update mods I use. The feature always tells me nothing has changed but when I go to the mod page I find that this is not the case. Also, the search feature is borked to some extent. If I can type "Mod Organizer" in the search field and all the mods that modify mod organizer come up but not the main mod itself...then something is wrong. Google often does a better job of finding mods on Nexus than the Nexus search.

I have been having a similar problem with the main site, but with Chrome. I need to manually log in each time i open a Nexus page. This started to occur when nexus added some security features to their servers recently. I know that Chrome does not play well with Nexus all the time (or MO) for that matter). FF is just too heavy and slow 'though for me to switch.
  17. I love maps, but I find that the Map Mods available on Nexus for Skyrim are really poor - even the much acclaimed 3D ones. The best map I have seen is the Skyrim V2 one available on the UESP Wiki. Can a mod be made that allows a player to access this map in-game? Using a keystroke or so, just like the current in-game map. As a reference - which is what the in-game map is supposed to do anyway. Tabbing in and out of the game doesn't work for everyone (instant CTD or freezes for some). I know its a very detailed map and can spoil immersion but some users don't necessarily mind that and there are many mods that do break immersion even worse than this will. Plus it can have the basic descriptions just as the current UESP map or not. And it can have a choice, where the player can decide which map they wish to use for the playthough.
  18. I have to ask because it does not make any sense! Has Nexus purposely done this so as to reduce some of the MO functionality? Since this change, nothing that links MO with Nexus works, save for the "Download with Manager" function. I mean, the search function on the site is not the best and can be actually frustrating at times...its easier to simply use Google search to find a mod than use the site's search function. Even when using the name of the downloaded mod verbatim, the site's search function often does not work. MO allowed you to search for an already downloaded mod and links you to the mod page so quickly and allows you to know when mods need updating - so important for those with large mod lists. Also MO logged me into to Nexus automatically. Since the change, it doesn't.
  19. Mod Organizer allows you to double click a mod and go directly to its mod page. Since your new security improvements and NMM version update (don't know which one - I do know it was working fine with version 0.61.17), I can't do this anymore. It now takes me to the main nexus page that lists all the games that nexus hosts mod for, even though the mod id is displayed. http://www.nexusmods.com/games/?id=72449 No padlocks.
  20. No Locks and MO is not linking with the site. Have to google most mods by name. Not cool and very irritating.
  21. Glad to hear that. I have been thinking of upgrading my GPU as well. Either a GTX 760 4Gb or a GTX 770 4Gb.
  22. Not too clear on crossfire / sli configs and such. Never had that kind of money to build a pure gamers rig (which is why I will always favour AMD over Intel unless pressed to do otherwise). I do know that Asus MB are the best that you can get. The two Gigabyte boards are really good, but if you switch the Asus to the VII Hero then you may be better off. The freezes may be caused by a combination of things. Low Vram is definitely one. Also remember that Skyrim has a Ram limit also. (3.1Gb). Some later ENBs may have raised this closer to 4gb, but that is a major point to consider. If the mod combination is loading more data than this in any specific area e.g. areas between Riverwood and Whiterun, then you can get stuttering, freezes and CTDs.
  23. Actually I was (and still am) wary of that tweak, so I have not tried it nor do I have any intention of doing so. In the case of Skyrim it simply does not make any sense to do it IMO. Although some people have reported improvements, they are small (reductions in micro-stutter), with no real performance improvements. The actual architecture of the game engine inhibits any real attempt to spread the game over more than two cores. Also it should only be done if you have no stability issues to begin with. It can actually cause more CTDs. By default mine is set to use 4 cores. The game itself only uses 2 cores I think and ancillary processes like physics use the others. Remember, you have to leave cores vacant so that necessary background programs can run. As I said, AMD cores are slower than Intel's, so in my case I think that my issues are related to a combination of GPU and maybe too many mods with a platter HDD. I think I get a better results If I tweak the game to use more system RAM when my GPU is maxed. In theory, on a balanced system (SSD, good GPU, fast RAM etc) this might give better, less riskier results.
  24. If its Skyrim, then the Intel chips are better. Bethesda used a 32 bit engine for the game so its not really optimized for more than 4 cores. So unless you tweak the Skyrim files it will not use more than 4 cores. In reality it will most likely use 2. Other games that use newer/better engines which are optimized for more cores or multithreading will be different. That said, the AMD 6 and 8 core chips do not really have 6 or 8 cores physical cores. They have 4 modules with 2 cores each and so they share some resources. The same with some hyperthreaded i7 chips. The i5 has 4 modules with one core each. Thus, depending on your application one will outperform the other. The FX 8 core chips tend to perform better with video editing, playback, graphics editing etc. For an old game like skyrim the i5 performs better since the 8350 4 modules x 2 cores are slower than the i5 4 modules x 1 core. If you are running a game or application that uses or needs 8 cores then the 8350 will outperform the i5. The majority of games use 4 cores so the i5 is generally better. However, if you are looking to the future, more games and multicore applications will be released and you may not have to upgrade the AMD chip for 2 - 3 years. So yes the AMD chips may multitask better because of the extra cores but it depends on what are the tasks. For most people its the cost factor that wins out with the AMD chips being much cheaper than the Intel ones. They give the best "bang for your buck".
