CTD in various areas across the Commonwealth

I'm CTDing in various areas around the map on a new save. No new mods have been introduced since I've made this save, and I've been experiencing all kinds of issues on it. The most recent ones that've been hexing me is CTDing in the 3 warehouses in Good-neighbor (Typically when any kind of fire particle effect is involved), in Saugus Ironworks' blast furnace room (Where you face-off against Slag), and going anywhere near Concord, typically past the dead Brahmin being fed off of by two Bloodbug hatchlings.

I'm aware this is more than likely indicative of a bad save, but I wanted to try and troubleshoot with you guys before I scuttlebutt the entire thing.

Ok, for real:

 

Spring Cleaning should go last in your mod order. Any scrapping mod should go last because of how they function, by breaking precombines to one extent or another (even if they claim they don't). You want them doing that after everything else is loaded.

 

You have at least two in there that are "FPS fixes", and at least one for LOD. Those are going to cause stability issues by changing, and therefore stressing, the graphics engine. I'd start by disabling those and seeing if it fixes anything. If it does, re-enable one at a time until you figure out which is causing the crash.

 

That's all I really see for now, give it a shot and let me know what happens.

My first thought, and I am not an expert modder, but I can safely state that I am an expert and creating havoc when I try to mod (but without mistakes, how can we learn?) I would normally look at the mods that are similar to what you described as a CTD associated with a fire particle effect because those effects may have an impact on your graphics performance, which i turn is being impacted by broken precombines, etc. The stresses on the game engine and your graphics card may be the culprit. I do agree with the prior poster that any scrap mod should go at the bottom of your load order, but I would add that I would not be using Spring Cleaning. That mod has not been updated for 5 years. If you are going to scrap using a mod, I would recommend Scrap Everything. The problems you are having in Concord may be due to the load order of the scrapping mod you have.

I thought about particle effects, but didn't really see anything in the mod list that struck me as messing with those. Maybe the grenade and molotov mods?
