LiFeOwNaGe
Whenever I go to download a mod from the Nexus, my Vortex will pop up, saying that I'm on Version 1.2.15 instead of the current Version 1.4.12. I update Vortex, and then try to download a mod again, and it does the same thing over and over. I was able to get it to install a couple things yesterday after going to my files and uninstalling Vortex, then redownloading the current version from the web. I have no idea what is causing this issue.

In vortex, go to SETTINGS------>VORTEX---->click CHECK NOW and let Vortex update through Vortex itself
LiFeOwNaGe
I have. Currently it is on the up to date version. It will only go back when I try to install certain mods.
LiFeOwNaGe
Correction: It is the FNV 4GB Patch that seems to change my version back to 1.2.
Guest deleted34304850
how can a mod change the version of your mod manager? that is really not how this works. you've got two copies of vortex installed on your system, guaranteed.
Tannin42
You probably have two copies of Vortex installed. When you start a download from your browser while Vortex hasn't been started yet it starts one (the outdated one), when you start Vortex from your desktop or start menu or whatever it starts the current one. The way this would happen is if you installed with the custom installer, then removed (*) the registry key that tells the Vortex installer where Vortex is installed. When Vortex then gets updated it gets installed in the default location (c:\program files) without removing the old version. (*) This could also happen if you reinstall windows or if you use a snake-oil "let me clean up your PC"-tool like ccleaner. The solution is to find and remove the old version of Vortex (if you hover the mouse over Vortex.exe in your explorer it will show the version). Then run Vortex (verify it's the current version) and make sure the "Handle Nexus downloads" option is set.
