Just switched from Xbox to PC

So this is my very first post and I am very

Excited to be part of the Skyrim Nexus!

I finally talked myself into building a desktop

And it should be ready any time.

The first thing I am going to do is start modding

Skyrim but I don't know which ones to start with

I've been looking through all of the posts and

I have a couple I want but I wanted to ask on here

To see what suggestions everyone has.

Good places to look...

The STEP guide lists a bunch of mods, even if you decide not to use their whole program, they have very good information about proper setup/installation, and definitely some mods worth considering.

G.E.M.S. has a list of mods, chosen for fitting in with a realistic style of game play.

Gopher does a nice video series about various popular mods.

And you can check out the lists of the mods of the month winners and runners-up, as well as the "top mods" categories on the nexus.

 

If you were to give a little more info about the type of mod experience you want (like immersion, anime, increased difficulty, etc) people might be able to give you ideas that fit in with what you are looking for.

I recommend you download Nexus Mod Manager for mod installation and uninstalling mods. When you go to a mod page, make sure to go to the "Files" section to see what different things there are to download via Nexus Mod Manager (NMM for short). Some mod pages have a file to download on the mainpage, but the file you want to download with NMM may be a different one, or you may want multiple ones that are available.

 

What system specs do you have? Depending on what you have, we can recommend some great mods for enhancing visuals.

Do you want some added realism? There are mods that require your character to eat, drink, and sleep. I like this mod because it adds that without being too restrictive. It won't impede gameplay as much as some other mods http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10958/?

you should start with the unnoficial patches, then add some of kryptopyr fixes (trade/stealth/smithing) and a few of althmoors cool mods. then you should get any quest/adventure and dungeon mods that look good.

 

there's nothing like playing a less borked version of the game.

i second gophers videos...then just think of what stuff you like ans search the files on the nexus. it is probably there.

S.T.E.P and G.E.M.S are both excellent. STEP is a little intense though. My favourite mod at the moment is Interesting NPCs. Don't play another character without it.

For a very cool trio of mods that work perfectly together and make the entire game MUCH more immersive...Vilja...Frostfall..Cloaks of Skyrim and Campsites of Skyrim....oh...thats a quartet, not a trio but do try them they make the game a great deal more fun and involving. :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:
