JimboUK
Now Sony have banned online passes. http://www.cinemablend.com/games/PS4-Doesn-t-Allow-Online-Passes-Even-From-Third-Party-Publishers-56656.html Holy hell... that's actually really good. I'm not used to megacorps doing, you know, nice things for us. Maybe they realise it's not the publishers that hold the power, it's the consumer. hoofhearted4
Sony just keeps hitting all the right notes. if the worst thing they do is charge for online, then they are golden. i mean, none of us WANT to pay for multiplayer, but honestly i can understand it. we arent paying for online. we can still use Netflix and the internet, still use PSN and download and play games, we only need PS+ to play multiplayer. and its not that expensive anyways. but still i understand the move and it makes sense to me, so im not mad about it or anything. and they are doing the right thing saying 'if we are going to charge you to play online, we are not going to charge you again (or have a game company charge you) to play a specific game online'. also any 3rd party game can still put a used game DRM on their own game. Sony has said that only their games will not have this, and the console itself will not have this, but publishers can still do it if they desire. this also makes sense. Sony is just building the platform on which any developer and make and publish a game to. leaving the options of the game completely up to the developer and giving them complete freedom with what to do with their game, which i think is right. if a Dev makes a game and wants to make it so you cant resell it, and makes it so you have to log in to their servers and authenticate on their servers and DRM the crap out of it, thats their choice, but things like that will weigh their game sales and consumer likeness down a hell of a lot.....also as a note, this was how its always been with Playstation. 3rd parties could always put this sort of DRM on their games, its always been up to them. i think youd only see this sort of thing from EA or Ubisoft, and even at that, Ubisoft lately has been trying to get away from this sort of thing, so maybe just EA. i couldnt see Bungie or Insomniac or Santa Monica Studios or DICE doing stuff like this, and certainly no indie dev. if youre the one company trying to do it, while no other company does it, youd just be shooting yourself in the foot. Ubisofts sales took quite a battering with the always on DRM, it looks like they've learned their lesson. @eldav It's only their sports titles that keep them solvent. Thor. Everyone can afford that, at least i think so???, i imagine there will be 5$ psn cards in the near future. At least they are being considerate of people who are living on a budget. Especially with xbot ones prices of 15$ of month which can rack up over 100$ a year. Edited June 13, 2013 by Thor.

Thor.
Funny thing is why windows 7, when ms usually touts its latest windows version. Also makes you wonder. More bad pr from MS, Its starting to get very worrisome when it comes to competition. Will Sony be the only console this year if the bad pr keeps coming. Sense the games were demoed on pc, makes you wonder just how far along they are??. Hmm also feels like something is fishy is going on there :whistling: Could they be selling on a lie???-------------------------- Also Another possible explanation could be, that ms has the rights to Directx 11, and they can do whatever they want with there OS and Console firmware at the same time, like testing the games on pc with similar specs. Sense after all they did invent the kernel. Don't forget the console is also based off of the windows kernel. Still quite fishy for the not completed firmware or they simply didn't have it ready for E3, which also can backfire on them. Edited June 16, 2013 by Thor.
