Skinjack
As the title says, and as most likely has been asked a thousand times, what is the easiest way to delete multiple backed up versions of a mod in your staging folder? I never thought it would hurt anything, but with the release of EasyNPC it is reading multiple versions of the NPCs from those backups. I know you can go through the time-killing task of doing them one at a time using the Version tab and Minus sign next to them. I also know you can go into the staging folder directly to delete them but that has never worked for me without some form of warning from Vortex telling me I'm about to screw something up. Is there a way to delete all but the current (in use) versions, like a batch file or something? I have a lot of these and now it is becoming an issue. We really need something to keep that folder "clean". Especially since some people (me) apparently have sloppy modding practices. I just wanted to keep a backup in case there was a problem with new releases, but in some cases I have 15+ of them. It has gotten out of hand. EDIT: Even deleting them one at a time does not seem to be cleaning up my staging folder. I thought that is what this did when removing the mod and the archive?EDIT: I guess that last part was my fault I use Q-Dir to have several directories open at once in one program and I forgot it doesn't auto-update the list. You have to refresh.
HadToRegister
The easiest way is by using the Version drop down in Vortex. The orange box under version, if you click the down arrow, all the versions with show, click on each flathead screwdriver icon and vortex will delete each versionI always keep ONE previous version of a mod "just in case", and I only select REMOVE, that way it's still in the DOWNLOAD folder, but is removed from the MOD STAGING Folder. Skinjack
That's what I was afraid of. That is what I am doing now. It has taken an hour an a half to get to the D's. Long day ahead. Thanks for the reply. Now that they are archiving mods on the Nexus is saving a previous copy even necessary anymore? If not, maybe they need to "update" the update to where it gives you a choice to remove the old version. After the new version is installed so it doesn't screw with my highlighting system, of course.

Skinjack
Yeah, I have them on a different hard drive. Probably multiple copies of multiple copies. I'm kind of anal about backups.

Same here, I'm pretty sure I have mods I downloaded back in 2008
Skinjack
in 2005 or so I lost a quarter's worth of drafting work that the next quarter was going to build upon, so lesson very quickly learned. Guess how I spent my break...
dizietemblesssma
I'm not OCD but play an obsessive on TV! I would love to have a built in way to 'archive' a removed mod. That way it doesn't 'mess up' by mod list with all those blue 'uninstalled' buttons.:) diziet
