aurreth
Ok, let's get this straight. Ceilings are almost universally painted WHITE. We do that for a reason, to reflect light back down so rooms aren't dark pits... like most rooms in Fallout :P I have been through every roof/floor piece in vanilla plus 10 or so of the most used building mods and not one ceiling is white. With the exception of some clean wood textures (golden brown) they are almost universally black. I'm getting a headache from holding them up and trying to find some damn angle where I can see if they actually have any texture to them, that's how dark they are. It doesn't help that nights in the game are double the length of days (I know, but it damn sure feels that way). Please, for all that is holy, if you decide to make a house/structure building mod paint the damn ceilings.
YouDoNotKnowMyName
Yes!But I think most ceilings in FO4 should make the room look "smaller", "darker" and "confined".Without actually beeing small (so that bigger creatures like mirelurks can still fit through interiors)
aurreth
I ended up using the "paneled ceiling" from the CC Modern Homes stuff. It's still too dark, but at least it is light enough that the room I was working on didn't feel like a cave. Then I went on top and used the asphalt rug texture from Snappy to make the roof look like, well, a roof lol
xrayy
the brightness depends on the illumination of the room or exterior and is independent of any texture as far as this texture is not self illuminated. so i do not get the point as a structural defect. i recommend to add lights or turn up gamma or brightness settings or to reduce AO and HDR settings. Really? Wow, thanks! Pull the other one, it's got bells on. Illumination is not the point. Almost every ceiling in the game is BLACK. It makes every build feel unrealistic and claustrophobic, and then when you light up the room YOU STILL HAVE DARK CEILINGS THAT LOOK WRONG. This is not a technical issue, it's a design issue. All I'm saying is, before releasing a mod that adds structural pieces to the game, walk around your house and look UP. Then fix your damn textures.
