adriane13
Okay so I have Nexus Mod Manager, and I think I have a pretty new skyrim. Idk how to check. I also have all the DLC's for Skyrim V. Iv'e tried to dowload Skse (for the SkyUI mod) version 1.6.16 and It won't work, when I launch skyrim the message pops up and says Error: blah blah blah. I checked if all the skse files were in the right spots and it was. I can still use SkyUI it just takes a minute to open and its not colored and i cant search for items. I also have winrar and zip files work for me too. So what did I do wrong? Or at least tell me instructions on how to download it correctly. SooperWood
For your Skyrim version:1.Go to you're Skyrim folder for example:C:\ProgramFiles\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim2. Look for the TESV.exe3. Right-click TESV.exe and select "Properties"4.Look into the "Details" section, that's where you find the version number which should be "1.9.32.0" Here's a picture (sorry it's in german):http://www10.pic-upload.de/thumb/15.07.13/sg8itge8jtzj.jpg For SKSE:1. Go to: http://skse.silverlock.org/2. Download the "Installer" (this will give you a file called "skse_1_06_16_installer.exe")http://www10.pic-upload.de/thumb/15.07.13/5ay61kvjmep.jpg3. Run "skse_1_06_16_installer.exe" and follow the instructions (enter your Skyrim installation folder path (with the TESV.exe inside, same one as above))4. Now go to your Skyrim folder and you will see, that there is a new .exe called "skse_loader.exe"5.This is your new "start button": By executing the skse_loader.exe Skyrim will load with SKSE active, so do not use Steam or the SkyrimLauncher.exe to start your game from then.If you want to have a nice shortcut for your SKSE loader do this:1. create a shortcut of skse_laoder.exe2. Drag and drop the shortcut where you want it(2.5 Rename it to whatever you want)3. Right-click the shortcut and select "Properties"4. Go into the "Shortcut" section and click "Change Icon"5. In the new window that pops up click browse, and direct it to your Skyrim folder and select TESV.exe or SkyrimLauncher.exe as a new icon6. Press "OK" and you will have a nice SKSE loader shortcut that just looks like the original TESV.exe ; ) Another german picture for this: http://www10.pic-upload.de/thumb/15.07.13/xwutsztybxbe.jpg Edited July 15, 2013 by SooperWood
Strokend
It sounds like the problem I had--You're launching Skyrim via the "Launch" button with the dragon icon on NMM, right? Click the arrow on the side of that button and click SKSE. You have to launch via SKSE on that list otherwise SkyUI won't run at full. http://i44.tinypic.com/fm191t.jpg

Megmkg
I installed SKSE exactly as the video on http://skse.silverlock.org/ suggested. I have checked that my version of Skyrim is correct. I downloaded the newest SKSE. I did the whole SKSE install process 3 times to make sure it was right, but everytime I got the same result. When I double click the SKSE launcher I still get that pre-loading screen where you can choose "Play" etc. The game loads fine, but when I enter the console command "GetSKSEVersion" it still says I don't have it. Can anyone help me. I feel really stuck. I had SKSE before with no problems Edited September 14, 2013 by Megmkg

But this morning, it suddenly stopped working whenever I launch the SKSE launcher. Weird. Anyone think they can resolve this problem?
Elfriend
Same problem here. It worked fine yesterday and I haven't changed a thing. PS. I can't launch Skyrim at all. I get the Bethesda logo, a flash of the dragon icon and then back to desktop. PPS. Figured out my problem. Yesterday I installed the latest version of WATER, which included an .esp file for the Falskaar mod. I don't have that mod, so naturally I left that file unchecked. Everything ran fine. Then it occurred to me that the crash I was getting today looked like what you get when a file can't find a master file it needs to run. Checked with NMM and sure enough, the Falskaar .esp was checked. I assume it was a NMM glitch or something Steam did when I went through my morning ritual of starting Skyrim, setting Steam to offline mod and exiting. I ran BOSS again to see if it was the culprit, but no. I post this update in case someone else has a similar problem.
truongkahp
Here's what I do. I download the 7z file from the SKSE website. Then I copied and pasted everything from the folder and replaced them with the old SKSE files in the directory of Skyrim. Every time I want to play with SKSE, I have to repeat this step. It was fine the other day. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thank you.
Barry1980
You need to go into your Skyrim directory, find SKSE and set it to run as administrator. The SKSE notes in the Skyrim directory held the answer. Hope this helps, it worked for me.
bben46
MS updates love to change UAC settings, administrator privileges and a few other things without bothering to tell you :wallbash: - go back and check these items before reinstalling anything.Make sure the game, steam, SKSE, NMM and any other programs you use are set to run with administrator privileges ( NO, just being the administrator is not enough - thanks MS for this bit of mass confusion)
