Bethesda! Listen to me!

You MUST do at least one of two things with the Fallout Series

1) Make a Fallout MOVIE!

Peoplel LOVE Fallout and you would sell more tickets thank you can imagine. Imagine everyone who bought the game, buying a ticket to see it. We know you can afford to make it a good or even great movie, too, because, after all, you've got Microsoft's deep pockets to draw from. Do this! You've got more money than god at your disposal and the opportunity to make even more!

2) Make a Fallout MMO.

Imagine how much players would LOVE to have a world to interact with like an MMO. Give them the abilitly to live in a vault and defend it, or be the leader of a gang of raiders or be a slaver or live in Big Town.

It'd be fantastic!

The problem I have with the idea of Bethesda making a movie is the writing. It's pretty much universally agreed upon that Fallout 3's writing, the storyline in particular, is bad, and that's being kind. Now, at least in the game, you can avoid the storyline and have a bit of a laugh, but you can't really do that with a movie, can you? So, please, just no.

As for the MMO, as Skotte said, it's already in development by some of the original Fallout creators.

Personally, I'm fine with the writing for the FO series. And I think that FO3's storyline and script are better than the first two. And if a movie were to be made, you cannot assume that the writing for the game would be the same quality as the writing for the movie. At the very least, new, better, perhaps award winning writers can be hired and the games writers can have more time to be available and be creatively involved.

1) FO movie

While I do love Fallout & think a movie would be neat, I wouldn't want Beth to hop in bed with M$ again I've had it with beth trying to make my PC a 360+ & I don't need them to try working on my DVD player ;)

2) MMO

Interplay may already be working on such http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Portal:Project_V13

Fallout movie...ARE YOU CRAZY!?!?!?!?!?! Video Game movies NEVER work out! look at Mortal Kombat and street fighter and super mario brothers. those movies sucked! I dont want them ruining fallout with a movie. Im glad they didnt ruin Metal Gear Solid with a movie.

MMO...now that would be awsome.

NOT ENTIRELY!! I thought the Max Payne movie did a halfway decent job of matching with the game. It IS kinda hard to turn a shooter into a movie where bullets aren't flying constantly.

1.) Fallout 3 is a good game, but it is not a good Fallout game. Likewise for the movie. The old fanbase was pretty much shattered with the release of Fallout Triple. Expect huge flaming from both the video game community and the movie critics.

2.) As for the MMO, it's already underway. Interplay's producing it, so it might just be good. However, Bethedsa is letting Interplay do it, as evidenced here:

While Bethesda now owns the rights to the Fallout MMO IP, clauses in the purchase agreement state allow Interplay to license the rights to the development of the MMO. [3]

Specific requirements were stated in the agreement that if not met, Interplay would immediately lose and forfeit its license rights for Fallout. Development must begin within 24 months of the date of the agreement (April 4, 2007), and Interplay must secure $30 million within that time frame or forfeit its rights to license. Interplay must furthermore launch the MMOG within 4 years of the beginning of development, and pay Bethesda 12 percent of sales and subscription fees for the use of the IP. Neither the filing nor the exhibit specifies just how Interplay will start development within 24 months of April 2007 or how it will be able to acquire the minimum financing requirement of US$30,000,000.00 seeing that Interplay still is in dire financial straits.

Sounds like Bethesda is holding the leash here.

I've never even played the original Fallout, and only gotten a little way into FO2, and even I know that's a load of Bramin feces. Bethesda makes great games, yes, but the last time they did great dialogue and storyline was with Morrowind. Oblivion at least had a meaningful main quest, whereas Fallout 3's main quest is so asinine I just use a mod to turn the bloody thing off. FO1 and FO2 meanwhile have been critically acclaimed for years, and I doubt that's without reason.

FO3 is great for exploration and general hijinks. Storyline? Not so much.

Agreed with Gafgar Adolis,

I did play fallout 1 and 2 alot and I loved the storyline and the way the world interacted with itself, fallout 3 is missing both. It is a good game, probably the best games of 2008 but it isn't nearly the best fallout game. The graphics are perfect though.

About the MMO: Hell yeah! April 2008, Interplay announced the making of the Fallout online game. Their team is starring Christopher Taylor (one of four designers of the original Fallout game) and (also one of the four designers).

Although Bethesda owns the rights to the Fallout MMO, it is Interplay who has the rights to the development the MMO.

In the worst case, Interplay will not be able to get enough money (30 million) together to build the game and will lose its license rights for Fallout. ZeniMax Media (mother of Bethesda Softworks) already said to build a fallout MMO if interplay will fail.

Also a note, Bethesda will get 12% of the income of the fallout MMO: this might be a reason why Bethesda will try and help interplay making the fallout MMO (although this is just a shot in the dark and I do not think they think 12% with no chance to lose money is enough for them. They prob want 100% of the fallout title, including the last part: the MMO license)
