Thor.
Hello have you ever wondered why the nexus doesn't have a official-unofficial do aliens exist debate thread???, well now it does and you can thank me for that. Today starts a one of a kind debate, the debate is do aliens exist or do they not. The trick is to post as much evidence you can find on youtube and place them here for analysis and debate, or try to disprove or prove ones video or topic of discussion. It can be from everything from personal experiences to YouTube or just random articles on the internet.Anyone can join in the fun or mock every piece of evidence you see, the end goal is common ground, or change ones view. Please stay within the rules: No religion allowed on the nexus. Edited August 19, 2013 by Thor.

Ironman5000
Well I posted this in the 'last poster wins' so might as well post it here, it's from the Ex-Canadian Minister of Defence testifying to having knowledge of aliens and they have been on earth secretly working with the government. This would be the best 'evidence' I have seen so far, as a speech from someone in his position is more credible than a video of a paper mache alien or a helium-filled foil 'craft', not saying I buy it completely but it is a concept I have suspected for some time...not in a paranoid foil hat way more of "if it's true then whatever, do something useful with it" way.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEQdvYFMBAU
Thor.
I had a strange and interesting experience myself, i was fishing one day just off of the coast of lake Eire just a few weeks ago, one day i was just minding my own business sitting on the boat fishing with a friend of mine at the time. Fishing can be a long and tiresome if you are having some bad luck or its not biting, so i decided to do some sky watching lol, not that i have anything better to do at the time watching plains go by, but one particular plain caught my attention one moment because it was a 747, the plain i was not the thing i was interested in, it was what was trailing behind it around 1800 feet. 3 plain like objects trailer underneath the 747 as it was hunting it down, the 747 was around 2500 feet while these three object like plains where just lower by 5000 feet by guesstimation. I have seen many strange things in the sky but nothing like these plus shaped aircraft in single formation just behind the 474's flight path. It was the oddest thing i have seen in a long time, because they were black as black anything can get. Soon after they disapppeared without a trace, it almost looked like they went straight into space or something, zoooom!! nothing, no trace of it even being there. I mentioned this to my fishing buddy beside me and he thought i was crazy at the time, i swore to him what i saw. He still to this day doesn't believe me. :armscrossed: Edited August 12, 2013 by Thor.
HeyYou
Given the vastness of the universe, and the number of stars/galaxies I can see just stepping out my back door, I would have a hard time convincing myself that we are alone in the universe. Now, has anyone visited us from "out there"? I doubt it. There wouldn't be any real point to it. Not like we have anything to offer a species that can already travel interstellar distances. Vagrant0
Here's the problem with all this... If Aliens exist and are working with the government, then why the secrecy and misinformation? Why hide fundamental facts poorly with a half-assed coverup that leads to wild speculation, hoaxes, and arguably panic? Why have the scientific community go out of its way trying to debunk this bad information or paint a drastically different picture? Why would aliens, who had agreements with various world governments, still be popping up randomly, abducting country-folk, and generally being inconsistent with everything. That's kinda the thing here. There is no consistency, not even among those groups trying to make a coverup. Whatever truth out there has been completely obscured by redacted documents, natural weirdness, and the ambiguous nature of the term UFO as well as the various policies related to these things. And unfortunately, in the age of youtube where anyone with a decent photo editing program can stage a believable hoax, things have only gotten worse. Science is based on consistency or patterns, but there aren't any clear patterns here, no matter how you filter it.
Ironman5000
Let's say this is real, hypothetically - There isn't consistency because information isn't secure and leaks all the time, no matter what security measures are put into place. Comparing this to the scandal of the benefits reform, there have been whistle-blowers that exposed it as a plan to cut off as many disabled people claiming benefits and those who do gain a bonus in their wages. There have been government whistle blowers who expose 'the truth' about what goes on about secret alien technology and aliens so it just goes to show they aren't THAT good at covering their backs at keeping secrets, and the only way they cover their backs is to use ridicule via media or make sure these people don't get much exposure. The fact that all these hoaxes are allowed to be shown all over is because they aren't real, the government and the population know they aren't, and so they are made a mockery of which leads the majority to believe the 'alien cover-up' isn't real either. They use these people who come up with ridiculous stories and footage to cover their backs, the more absurd the better.
BriannaElisabeth
The universe is huge. Like, hundreds of billions of galaxies, each containing hundreds of billions of stars. So, it's highly likely that the kind of life we're used to exists. But we're also pretty narrow in what we consider 'life.' We tend to think Carbon-based cells, but seeing as carbon is a (relatively) uncommon atom in the universe as a whole, and under different circumstances, cells might not be the base-unit of life on another planet. So it's even more likely that life exists in other forms. We will probably never make contact, and we will probably never be officially aware of the existence of Aliens, but it's actually more far-fetched to think that we're alone in the vast cosmos. I'm not saying that life doesn't exist out there. What I am however saying is that it is unlikely that any group of aliens have been working with world governments for the purposes of furthering any agenda. I might even go so far as to state that it is unlikely that any reports within the last 50 years have had anything to do with alien (or extra-dimensional) visitation. Not that it couldn't be the case, but rather that if it was the case that even 1% were genuine in this regard, then the Earth would have to be so frequently visited that it would be impossible to prevent some sort of contamination that would be impossible to ignore.
