Darnoc
Hm, here a list with some other good villains: - Kaizer Soze (The usual suspects)- Gul Dukat (DS9)- Hagen (Das Niebelungenlied)- Michael Corleone (The Godfather, especially the second one)- Frank (Once upon a time in the West)- Sentenza (The good, the bad and the ugly)- General Chang (Star Trek VI; I just love how he quotes Shakespeare all the time)- Alex Krycek (X-Files) And what about real life villains? I would nominate Tamerlan for the price of the best villain ever living. In his conquerings he exterminated whole cities if they resisted him, for example Bagdad where he piled the skulls of the massacred citizens to pyramids. Other possibilities are of course Hitler or Stalin.
Slaiv
Being a %&$! doesn't mean a good villain. ;) Huitzilopoctli. Not really a villain, but awesome nonetheless.
postaldudeleo
whos Huitzilopoctli?
Icefiddell
I'd probably say Attila the Hun for one of the most badest villians, for people who actually lived anyway. You could go to cities, a year after he conquered and the stench of death still would be overwhelming.
FlightlessBird
I'm a gonna go with Joseph Stalin. That dude killed more people then Hitler and he did it much more quietly than Hitler. Not to mention the communism, and all the weapons....Paranoia....
whos_next
Sephiroth has to be the greatest villian of all time
Dark0ne
Next person to suggest a Final Fantasy character as the most evil villian gets an official forum kick up the rear (and if male, in the nuts). Thank you.
Slaiv
I would have to say Sefiroph and Kefko are good villains.... :bleh: Just joking, by the way. Mass killing doesn't make one a "villain." Not in the sense that is being brought up in this thread, I believe....
Darnoc
whos Huitzilopoctli? The highest god of the Aztecs, the god of war and the sun. The Aztecs sacrified human lifes for him, on feasting days sometimes even thousands, for they feared the world would end if the would stop "feading the sun" with the blood and hearts of humans. Well, personally I think the greatest villains are not some maniacs, but rather people who act cold blooded, reasonably and by their plan. Cold as ice, people who would stop for nothing, with no moral and no scrupels. Probably some persons in high economic or political positions fit that profile, people who literally walk over corpes to achieve their goals. Who start wars for greed and power.
