Zombiekilla0111
Hey, a little preface, this has no real purpose beyond being a literal cry into the void. So if I do or say something I'm not supposed to then mods feel free to delete this cause I'll probably never come back to look at this. Now for what I wanted to say. After the release of AE I have been both to impatient to wait for certain mods to maybe be updated so I can actually enjoy playing Skyrim and to stubborn to attempt the rollback solution to pretend Bethesda didn't ruin the game for me. I know many would say "If you liked your install so much you shouldn't have updated it" and they are so right but I put trust in members of the nexus community and my own personal friends that "It will be just a matter of time until everything gets updated for AE." To a degree they have been correct but I am getting increasingly annoyed with my inability to enjoy playing the game currently. I have gotten to the point where I just think about Skyrim and go "Wow that WAS such a good game" key word "was" as I can't deal with playing the game in an almost vanilla state where I just hate the dated combat and hate having followers cause they block hallways and doors forcing me to tcl every 5 minutes. I know I just sound like an entitled brat and I guess that's just what I am but my love for Skyrim at this point has just completely faded. So to end this pointless bout of whining I will state that I am going to try and just uninstall the game and come back every few months to see if what I need has been updated or replaced and if not I'll just keep waiting. Maybe I'll go get a life in the meantime? Probably not but hey I can dream. To anyone who read this drivel I give both my thanks and my apologies. A thank you for reading my rant and an apology for having to deal with an Idiot like myself.Much love to the Nexus mods community and have a great Morning, Afternoon or Evening.Sincerely,A Complete Fool
sopmac45
Well, the game is running for me and I am pretty sure for everybody else who updated the most important mods like : SKSE, Unofficial Skyrim Patch, Address Library, SSE Engine Fixes, PapyrusUtil, Powerofthree Papyrus Extender, Spell Perk Item Distributor, ConsoleUtil and Powerofthree Tweaks ..... there are probably a lot of mods that are not working properly but if you update the mods listed here, you should be fine running your game with the hiccup that probably other mods ( even with dependencies or not ) might not run as intended but basically the game is playable. For example, the Frozen Electrocuted Combustion ( FEC ) mod depends on : Address Library, Powerofthree Papyrus Extender and File Access Interface mods, but it is not working as intended, at least not yet till the author update it. This mod ( FEC ) should be update soon since the author is the same that created Powerofthree Papyrus Extender. In the meantime, ( I do have this mod - FEC - ) I have to wait. Again, my game is running perfectly well. I have not had any CTD at all since all this happened ( I have been playing it more than 13 hours ) but I do understand that if you have 200 mods, probably a lot of them won't run as intended but still the game is playable. There is always a way around this. For example, if you rely on looting, you may not get all the loot that you want but if you use the Console Commands, you should be able to cheat the way out of it and get all the items that you are looking for without looting a single corpse. Some players do not want to do that but it is an alternative valid option.
showler
Word just before AE patch was released was that it could take months to get everything updated and working again. We're at 3 1/2 weeks and we are amazingly far along. Every mod author should be praised for the work they are doing. Anything else...that's on you. It's like getting too hyped for a game you haven't even seen yet and then being upset when it's only really good and not spectacularly good like you imagined it to be. Supersaiyangoku84
alot of my mods i use hasnt been updated as well , some hasnt been updated since 2019 and others wont be cause the mod authors quit modding or turned theyre mods over to someone else so if i updated to ae id be losing a perfectly setup skyrim as well as access to many of the mods that have been abandoned and will never be updated , I still have a perfectly preserved vanilla skyrim ver 1597 thanks to Mo2 and its virtual directory i just kept my steam offline mode for the last year , since you already updated though i highly suggest just using the tool on here and rolling back to the other version and enjoying the game again like you once did , youll be glad you did after doing it when your able to use all your favorite mods again , alot of the popular ones have been updated already for it but you and me both know that they all wont be updated and unless you roll back youll never get to experience the game as you once did and ever truly be happy playing it whether it be 3 or 6 months from now Edited December 2, 2021 by Supersaiyangoku84
Mercury71
For me most mods that is "must have" works so i have no problem. That said, i do understand that people who loves animation mods and follower mods downgrades back to 1.5.97.But i dont like having followers, i play in 1st person and i dont play the game for the combat (it sucks no matter mods) so for me almost all the mods i used before the update still works.Today even "Experience", that i use from time to time, got updated.I belive the most "important" mod not yet updated is NetScriptFramework. If that gets updated a large amount of mods will work again.I am waiting for that so the only mod i am missing will be functional again, "No Grass In Objects" (if someone missed it here is THE LIST for current status: https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins )
showler
I miss some of the convenience mods. Like Stay in System Page and Yes I'm sure or I'm Walkin' Here. Not critical but boy are they appreciated.

GlassApexSeals
It continues to piss me off how petty certain modders behaved after a certain "update of policy" by nexus, that everyone knew was coming. Many mods I used to enjoy have disappeared. Maximum Carnage being one of them. And for the modders who continue to keep their work on Nexus, and even continue to update, many of us would not keep playing after all these years. They took Bathesda's half assed slop and not only fixed serious bugs, but added significant amounts of content. For bathesda and steam to not make it easy to rollback is just another in a long list of oversights.
showler
Rolling back has no purpose except to make SKSE dependent mods work and Bethesda has never and will never officially support a program that hacks their game at runtime. It would be idiotic for them to do so. Despite that, they have provided more back door support than I ever would have expected.
