w1ixi
Seriously they have repackaged this game 3x and one that added creation club. I wonder if at 1 point did they even consider it? How difficult would it have been to change things such as inventory menus etc
anjenthedog
At a guess, probably because of the "adult" content that it allows to occur. That might present a legal liability to a major, (ostensibly?) SFW software company. And please kiddies don't shoot the messenger. I'm just calling it like I see it. showler
SKSE or SkyUI? You mention menus, that's why I ask. For SkyUI, they consider the default UI to have every feature needed. For SKSE, it's a script extender. It is, by definition, an extension of the features Bethesda implemented. If Bethesda adds new features, which they have done repeatedly, it's not an extension...it's just the game code.
w1ixi
Ok why didnât they modernize Skyrim more for this edition. They added mods to the base game. Did they reach out to mods that increased mobility or changed combat. I think Todd said in a recent interview one of the mods added a feature he wished was in game. Why didnât he add something similar Couldnât they have added a toggle that changed some behaviors (BioWare did this late for next gen only on dragon age inquisition) They added survival mode but not 1 slider for difficulty Seems such an easy fix
showler
They won't just integrate someone's mod. If they want a new feature they have to build it from scratch. And, basically that means that Todd or whoever has to make a business case that the money expended is going to increase revenue by a significant enough margin to make the expense and the inherent risk worthwhile. I don't think they could make that case.
sopmac45
... or why to create something that has been created already by probably much better programmers ? Assuming they would have created their own, probably not one would be so confident to trust what they did but to continue trusting in something that has been working pretty well since it was created. Mercury71
Why spend money on something they can sell over and over again without basically adding or fixing anything? Their job is to deliver profit to the share holders.
showler
A bit overstated. Todd's job is to deliver the best game possible. But he isn't the only one making the decisions. There are hundreds of people working there and most of them want to create the best experience possible for players. But the money people don't want to end up like all the other studios who went bankrupt because they were good at games and bad at business. w1ixi
Iâm just surprised they added mods but I think if they had made a little more effort could have doubled profits
