hoofhearted4
ive been looking into the Z68 chipset, and for me personally its useless. when i go ahead and build my new build, im hopefully gunna get a 128GB SSD (maybe 64GB, we will see) and a 500GB Hybrid. the Hybrid in itself has caching and makes itself faster. the OS and a few games will be on the SSD already, so it really wouldnt benefit from the Z68 chipset. plus compared to P67, they dont have any cool looking mobos, which everyone knows is important in a gaming PC lol. SSDs are slowly but surely getting cheaper.
nodgree
I'm using an OCZ Vertex II 240GB SSD in my gaming rig and the difference is night and day over standard 7200 RPM SATA HDD's. Loading times and transfer times are chopped significantly. I would like to get 1 more to run in a RAID 0 setup.

Can I ask what that monster cost you? Do you use it as your OS drive or just for running applications?
PowderdToastMan
i paid 215 but its come down to 185: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226236 And yes, i have my OS on it. I also have a 240 with the exact same setup that i paid 300 for but i have'nt installed it yet: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226237 Im gonna move my steam folder to the 240 once i get it on cuz the 120 is full Back when i had an amd motherboard with this ssd, from the time i hit the power button to the time i could click on a desktop icon, was 9 seconds. Its a beast. It takes about 20 seconds with my z68-ud5

Not sure how well it works yet because my GPU is crap. Waiting for my new vid card and PSU to arrive monday. For $215, I might just have to look into that SSD, those are amazing 4k transfer speeds. Nice setup :)
FMod
I'm using a standard HDD as my OS drive and using my SSD just for gaming. That's not the optimal setup. Most games don't care about HDD vs SSD, while for OS it matters a lot.

Lutine
I'll probably be using a SSD in my next rig.Keep all my games on an NAS or fileserver. :D
