So when it loaded i double clicked on the icon on my desktop and brought it up, after i entered a new game and made my character ( wood elf, spellsword, the Shadow)and then i walked through the door the guard opened for me, turned right and went through the door straight ahead and the game quited itself ARGH!!!! I tried about 8 times but it did exactly the same ARGH!!!! Does anybody else have this problem, please please help!! Danforth

Pob
Try reinstalling the software, other than that suggest you patch it. Not sure what else you can do

Stampede
Try patching it, it could be a conflict somewhere, what graphics card are you running?
Switch
it could be your RAM. when i first got morrowind i could barely play it as i only had 128mb RAM, it ran slow as hell, froze and crashed a lot. i soon got hold of some RAM chips thanks to a friend and boosted it to 294 it ran fine after that. all i had was a 1ghz CPU and a geforce2 mx400 64 MB graphics card so the game seems to be reliant on ur RAM more than anything. DragoonFurey
I've had alot less CTD's since i upgraded to winXP they still happen but not as much. I had problems with lockups till i got 1GB of ramAnd LOTS of CTD's till i upgraded my sound to a SB Audigy. But before you go out upgrading your computer, Re-Install/Patch, and Update the drivers for your video and sound cards.I also recomend setting the view distance slider to half and turning realtime shadows off. --------------------------------------Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra Black1.0GB DDR RamAMD Athlon XP 2000Soundblaser Audigy GamerGForce 4 Ti 4200Windows XP Pro (2GB Page File)--------------------------------------
Switch
well the specs of my old computer ran it fine on minimum distance: Pentium III 1 GhzSoundblaster PCI (I think it was that)GeForce2 MX400Windows 98294MB RAM these are probably the bare minimum though. also i dont recommend getting the GeForce2 MX400 as it ran most new games just fine however after having it for about 1-2 years it developed a nasty bug which made it start crashing on high graphics games and making me reboot every 5-30 mins of gameplay which is why i had 2 get a new computer <_<
