Well you can see how much they've gone up by (it even says it in the OP!). I simply used an inflation calculator, but if you go by a 3% inflation rate over each year then you'll come to very similar prices.

In response to post #9387873.

If the inflation rate for a year is 5 percent, that means everything is roughly 5 percent more expensive (or the dollar/pound is 5 percent less powerful) than the year before. If the rate of inflation falls to 1 percent the next year, it doesn't mean everything if 4 percent cheaper, it means in the past two years on average everything has become 6 percent more expensive.

The rate of inflation has been (on average) about 3.4 percent since 2006 to 2012 in the UK. This means the services required to run Nexus have increased approximately 20.4 percent, meaning the price increase for a premium membership is actually roughly spot on.

I've been debating about going premium for quite some time and I'm definitely leaning that way....(guilt aside, I have no problem paying $ to help support this site, and the NMM app)....LOVE THEM BOTH.

But, I've got a not-so-fast internet connection (6Mb down if I'm lucky) so really fast download speeds are kind of wasted on me anyways.

Are there any plans to add different/additional "perks" to going Premium that might appeal to someone like me who can't really get fast download speeds?

@dantharp;

Since the point of going Premium is "to provide support for the Nexus", (we appreciate yours!) and not "to pay for enhanced services", the short answer is, "No." :armscrossed:

Besides, Premium Members such as yourself already receive many other "perks", as you call them:

http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/contents/images/icons/big/favorite.pngPremium only file servers

Download from three file servers (two in the US, one in the EU) available just for you that no normal members can download from. Also works in NMM.

http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/contents/images/icons/big/down.pngDownload multi-threading

NMM will automatically download with multiple threads, rather than 1, so you can be sure that you're downloading at the fastest speed possible.

http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/contents/images/icons/big/remove.pngNo advertising

Premium members will never see any advertisements on any of the Nexus Sites or forums.

http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/contents/images/icons/big/user_add.pngNotifications

Get notified (like you would on social networking sites like Facebook!) when a new file is uploaded to your tracked files or someone comments on one of your files.

http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/contents/images/icons/big/application_edit.pngResult preferences

Premium members can choose to increase the number of files or comments shown on individual pages.

http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/contents/images/icons/big/notes_edit.pngFull download history

Access to your full download history on the site while normal members can only see files downloaded over the current month.

http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/contents/images/icons/big/comment.pngPrivate message capacity

All premium members can store 5 times as many private messages. The total archive size is 500 compared to 100 for normal members.

http://static2.nexusmods.com/140/contents/images/icons/big/image.pngSupporter-only Image Share section

An image share section for Supporters only. The terms and conditions for this section are different and more open and liberal than the normal image share section.

Not to mention getting the nifty green http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_images/icon_green_premium.png banner under your avatar!
