Error The member <USER> can not use the messaging system

I have found what may be a important Mod, but evidently the author has turned off both Forum entry and Bug entry responses. (IMHO They should NOT have the ability to turn off or delete the Forums)

 

So there was no easy way to query the author, or anyone else, about this mod or determine if the mod has been abandoned.

 

When I tried to send a message to the author, I got this error:

 

The member aers can not use the messaging system

 

evidently leaving me no way of contacting anyone regarding this mod.

 

Is this a flaw in Nexus Mods website.

If the Author is blocking all communication then that means they have abandoned the mod and the error message should, in my humble opinion , reflect the fact that the mod has been abandoned.

An author not wishing to receive communication DOES NOT, IN ANY WAY indicate the mod is abandoned.

 

As far as I can see, comments are open on all of aers mods. If they don't respond personally, they have volunteers who handle support requests.

 

Bug tabs and Forum tabs are entirely optional and many mod authors turn them off.

 

If there is a mod that does not have an open comments section, point me to it and I'll help you see if the contact rules are different.

Perhaps the author has simply blocked you from sending PM's and making comments on his or her mod page(s).
