Vyxenne
Please disregard the "all plugins gone" part of the headline. Nexus forum will not allow me to fix it. Last night after re-enabling a previously-disabled mod, Vortex suddenly displayed a red warning popup saying "Some downloads were not finalized. Vortex may appear frozen whil..." I clicked the Repair button but nothing happened- Vortex did not "appear frozen whil..." and the warning message persisted. I clicked it closed and closed Vortex, waited a few minutes and then relaunched it; the error message popped right back up. I checked Vortex's Downloads tab and noticed that the date of all 500+ downloads was January 22, 2022 7:38:10 AM. Obviously, this is impossible. I checked Vortex's Plugins tab and all 500 active and inactive plugins appeared to be there. Vortex's staging directory looks fine- all mods seem to be present there. SSE's Data subdirectory properly contains (Vortex hardlinks to) all 350-400 active plugins. And finally, deploying mods seems to work OK and the game launches and plays normally as far as I can tell in 15 minutes of in-game testing. I would appreciate help getting rid of the red warning. Thanks.
Pickysaurus
You may be able to see in your Vortex log file what the problem is specifically. Essentially you have some things in your downloads folder that either didn't finish downloading or were not correctly assembled after the download completed. The "Repair" option should fix or remove these.
Tannin42
The Repair button should be fine, this notification isn't a major issue. The file, which you probably downloaded very recently, has been completely downloaded but once that's done Vortex calculates its md5 hash which we can use to uniquely identify the file (e.g. if we need to query the server for additional info). That hash is missing and "Repair" will calculate it, no biggie. The mods don't need this to work, it's just for Vortex to show correct meta information and if you want to build collections and such. If this actually affects all 500+ downloads though this may take pretty long, potentially hours depending on your system.
SeinSchatten01
Well, that activity takes way too long and it is not good that there is now display what is going on in the background. Vortex is entirely unusable. How can I speed this up or deactivate it? I also don't see where the logfiles are.
CEFranklin
Resurrecting this post. I am having the same issue. I uninstalled Vortex and re-installed. Pointed at the same download folder. It has been 3 days LMAO. I leave it running all night and nadda. I have clicked the repair button. Takes forever to download anything or play anything. Any thoughts? Move the downloads and just manually add every mod that I had accumulated? I know this is old, but I did not want to start a new post for the same thing. This was the only post that came un in the search too.
CEFranklin
I just started over. Bye bye Terabytes of mods. Cause I ain't re-importing them all. Going back to MO2.
Pickysaurus
That was probably unnecessary, you could've removed the file that was incomplete/corrupted and the message would've gone away.
