Scyris
I am wondering is using purse of wonders to bascally have unlimited space to loot stuff cheating to badly? XD, I also use the 1 skill up= +5 to that stat to save time, as well as Goddess shop that has some rather op items (that I don't use makes it too easy), However they have master level trainers in there for Restoration, destruction, speechcraft, blade, Marksman, and I think 1-3 other skills. Micko
There's no real cheating in a single player game, you're just modifying in one way or another. Sure if you want to challenge yourself to play a game fully vanilla on hard level and you go into console and use a kill command on some npc you thought was too hard to beat you could think you cheated yourself. If you just want to have fun and have a enhanced character then the sky is the limit and there's no such thing as a cheat. I'll usually play a game a couple of times if I like it without any modification at all but after that I'll use the console and twink up all the characters all I want just because it's fun and I don't always want to grind out repetitive bits. Germandeathkittiez
I think encumbrance is such a waste of time. Sometimes I find myself spending most of my time loading and unloading things from my encumbrance just so I can keep walking. If they wanted to make the game more realistic, they shouldn't allow you to carry 16 swords, 2 bows, 2 staves and 832658976582165 keys at one time, and have it be menu-based. To me, any menu-based restriction is not realism. It further denies reality that you can freeze time to take things in and of your encumbrance. So I think if it's a menu then the limit thing should be abolished along with all other stupid restrictions such as (I jump in the air) "You cannot drop items with your weapon out!" as well as the "Cannot repair when enemies are nearby!" Aurasoma
Differs from player to player. What one might call cheating others would call creative problem solving. I my self almost always grab one of Zeralesaars rift homes when starting a new game. Then when I become over burdend I just warp to my home and dump all the extras I've got cluttering my bag space.I also keep several sets of extra armor there incase any I have gets broken, lost and so on. And if your reading this Zerale I love your latest one. Also using more then 1 or 2 CM partners could be considered cheating. Since draging a small army around can result in the dungons turning into more of a gang beat down. They can also make a great pack mules when in large numbers (if you dont over burden them). As for the complaints listed by Ninja, Think of it this way. In FInal Fantasy you could always carry 9,999 of an item be it potions, elixers, throwing weapons and other such junk. How realistic is that?
dlcooper
You'll get a variety of answers to a question like this. It comes down to whatever you want. In a single player game you're not playing against other people so just do what you're comfortable with. I use the Purse of Wonder all the time because I find it very annoying to drag a bunch of stuff back and forth from a cave and then try to find someone to sell it to. I've created characters that I just wanted as a resident of Tamriel instead of a criminal in prison so I gave my new character enough money using the console to buy a house. Some people might consider that cheating but I wanted a character that was a resident of IC so I used the Talos Plaza home mod and bought it. Just do what you want. You're the one playing the game. Varus Torvyn
My opinion, I don't consider it cheating. I use another mod similar to yours (Bag of Holding). I don't consider it cheating, since how could anyone not have an encumbrance while carrying 100,000 Septim coins is beyond me. :whistling: Play the game the way you want to: that's the beauty of a single-player RPG. The Console is there for a reason: it is a tool you can utilize, as well as any mod you choose to install & activate. I find myself using the Console to replenish Varla Stones, because the game has a built-in hassle to find them.
FoxhoundCommander
It's based on opinion really but I personally consider it cheating and wouldn't use such a mod. If you have to touch the console for ANYTHING other than getting unstuck from some sort of bug or fixing an issue with graphics etc. then I consider it cheating. I personally never have issues with encumbrance, so I assume other people are just too lazy to clean out their inventory between quests/plundering etc. All the excuses people make to feel like that they are not cheating are quite funny, sure you can do whatever you want, but saying it's not cheating when it clearly is, is a different story. Custom house mods I feel are generally fine, I tend to avoid overly huge and extravagant houses that stand out though because it just doesn't feel right haha. I also avoid mods that add in custom content like new weapons and armor because 90% of the time they're horribly balanced or just plain bad. I tend to be a purist only modding little things in the game that bugged me, like Oblivion Gate weather.
XanAlderon
To me cheating is only defined by if you (or someone else) feel cheated.
nosisab
You sinner... Infidel ... May the hatred of AO be over you.... How dare you do such a thing instead loading yourself to the point just beyond encumbrance stillness for taking a nightshade leaf, going to the cave entrance, fast traveling to the nearest good paying merchant, selling the rags, fast traveling back and repeat, repeat.... dezdimona
isn't it wonderful to play a game where you dictate what is right and what you consider to be wrong without outsiders voiceing their opinions.Enjoy "your" game the way you like because in the end the only one you have to please is you!!!
