scripts container inside data folder: is it needed?

Hello!

I've noticed Inside the data a container file named "Scripts":

I don't know for sure but I think it was created when I did a fresh install of the Creation Kit in November 2020. The content of this file looks like this:

It has only .psc files but no .pex files at all.

My question is: do I have to unzip this archive? I already have the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\scripts\source but none of the .psc files inside the container are also in this directory.

I don't have any problems in Skyrim but I have to mention that I didn't really play since then. I mainly test mods for my next playthrough.

Thanks for any help!

I don't have a folder data/scripts/source either but yeah it's possible that I said "no" but then I must have said "not" the very first time back in 2015 when I installed it for the first time. In the meantime I must have spend hundreds of hours in the CK without any problem so would you say I can just leave it like that or should I install these files manually? I still play Oldrim with the old Creation Kit.

I don't think the old CK ever asked to extract those files. I remember when having to manually extract them myself when I needed to do script compiling.

If you do not compile scripts in the CK, you won't need them. But if you ever think you might want to create some scripts, better to hang on to that archive.

I don't even know what compiling scripts means so

I have a slight idea what scripts do and when you need them but I don't work with them at all.

Thanks for all your answers!
