Ideas for new vendors

There are vendors for ammo, chems, clothing...

but what kind of niche vendor doesn't exist that would be very useful?

I'm thinking of someone who sells wild carrot flowers, hubflowers and such...

Well .. SHUCKS .. the Commonwealth is Littered with Maple trees and if you look at the mid 1800's illustrations of "Sugar Shacks" they look like they are already in or BELONG in the Commonwealth..

as a child I remember the 'White Fathers' in Ottawa.. they had a Maple plantation too and boiled Syrup in giant Vats and then they would throw it out onto fresh clean Snow in the winter and it would instantly become the most delicious Maple Fudge.

Complete guide to Maple Syrup and Fudgemaking is on the wikipedia, but there might be TreeTapping jobs, syrop boiling jobs, Syrop sales, marketing, plus how many recipe s include Maple Syrup ??

*** UPDATED .. but then with all of this Sugar... we are going to need DENTISTS?

this may not be what you're looking for, but a few years ago there was a mod called northlands diggers and that mod allowed me to create bespoke workbenches that returned specific kinds of scrap.

could you perhaps create vendors that sell specific kinds of scrap?

For example, you may have a vendor that sold scrap metal items such as pots/pans/kettles. another that sold ceramic items, plates, cups etc. and so on? basically taking the existing game items found in the world, and selling certain of them, rather than selling a selection of all of them?

you could also set up a vendor that sold electronic parts, perhaps robotic scrap - such as arms/legs torso's etc?

i agree, that area is very underused with just the doorman.

i could see a vendor there who sells chems and home-brewed booze for use downstairs - like an illicit chemist with a bit of a chemistry set/mad scientist vibe going on, with a wink to the proprietor who is just a couple of floors above. protect it with a security cage to prevent any shenanigans and you're away!

in terms of home-brewed booze - whats to stop the creative people of goodneighbour making their own janky version of buddy, once you've returned him to the hotel and have that patrolling the entrance, offering allsorts from his inventory.
