VladiMatt
I'd like to configure my smaller mods while I download texture packs without having to make sure I download them in a specific order.
Solution Tannin42 Posted May 24, 2022 Solution Share Posted May 24, 2022 Settings -> Downloads -> Download Threads As a premium user you can increase this. Vortex will use up to 4 threads per single download so if you increase it to 5 or higher, Vortex will download 2 files at once, at 9 it will download 3.As long as you only download one large file at a time, this should ensure the small ones get finished and you can start getting them set up. We have no smarter scheduling at this time - reserving one download thread for small files could be a really neat feature though. Feel free to create a feature request for that through the feedback system if you want.
VladiMatt
Oh WOW how'd I miss that? LMAOI've been set to one thread this entire time....... I feel pretty dumb lol. Thanks Tannin!!
rmm200
I will add - I think you are doing something wrong if you worry about download order. All of Vortex rules apply only to installed mods. For anyone except the very novice user, downloading single mods, I would recommend turning off "Deploy mods when enabled","Enable mods when installed", and "Install mods when downloaded". Especially turn off "Run FNIS on Deployment" if you deploy one mod at a time. That could take - forever... These are in Vortex Settings under Interface. showler
They were only worried about download order so that they could download a bunch of small mods first and start setting them up while the big mods downloaded.

The way I understood it the question had nothing to do with load or deploy order, it was simply that they were downloading very large and small files at the same time and would have preferred for the small ones to be prioritized and finish first so they can configure those while the larger ones are still downloading. rmm200
Well maybe I misread it. Op said "make sure I download them in a specific order". That raised a flag for me.
