Am I the only one who finds Two Worlds to be decent?

Okay, okay, I confess that the first versions of the game sucked horribly. I will even admit that the voice acting is cheesy. But honestly, I think it's pretty good, and I don't understand why everybody lusts for it's blood so much.

This Easter, I got the "Epic Edition" of Two Worlds, and they seem to have fixed a lot of bugs with the previous game. The multiplayer isn't horrible at all, and the american servers aren't a desolate wasteland.

Why do people hate it?

I think it's mostly the XBOX players that hate it. On PC I found it to be quite a decent game. The problem at the time of release was that most RPG's were still overshadowed by Oblivion and people expected another Oblivion. If they'd stop comparing it to Oblivion I'm sure they would enjoy it a whole lot more. Only thing that bothered me was the crappy multiplayer.

Hmm.. That might be the problem. The multiplayer has been updated quite a bit though, and satisfies me, especially since I can actually choose my character online.

I played through one of the very early post releases and gave it a good 25 hours or so, completing the game. Admitedly I rushed through a lot of the final quests because I was getting bored and I just wanted to see how it all ended. I persevered with the bad dialogue and a few of the bugs and I was glad I did.

I enjoyed the single-player PC version of Two Worlds and played through it with three characters. In my experience, posters in "Worst Game" threads always start listing good games at about the third post down. People just like to complain.

I did get in on 360 when it first came out and was thoroughly disappointed. As Halororor said, they simply compared it to Oblivion too much. Even seeing screenshots you think, wow this is going to kill Oblivion. Unfortunately, playing the game with the spinning swords, and inability to really play in first person, I just wasn't impressed. Now if they had just said something about being a vast, open-world RPG, I probably would have thought, "Oh, kind of like Oblivion" but the fact that they constantly talked about how much better it was made me expect a lot more. Even the box compares the two, but barring that I could have enjoyed it a lot more, it seemed fun enough, I just couldn't get Oblivion out of my mind.

Well I for one like Two Worlds, I also purchased the Epic Edition from Fry's not long ago.

I compare this game more towards Gothic 3 which I also like, both seem to have similar looking terrain and skylines, but then again so do many FRP's ;)

The one thing that Two Worlds has over others is the augmenting feature for gear.

It's nice to be able to take the same weapon or armor and augment an existing, equipped item to make it better

I've played both Two worlds and Oblivion.

In my opinion Oblivion was better, not by far but better. Both games as I see it doesn't have the best pre-story but they are great games.

When I think about it is probably just for one reason I played Oblivon longer than Two Worlds was all the mods people here and on some other sites had created.
